Abstract

Introduction: Varnish is one of the dental materials that can be used to protect the pulp. Raw materials for making varnish were easy to be obtained using simple technique and composition. Self-processed varnish which has 40 gr of copal, 50 ml of 95% alcohol and 10 ml of chloroform was produced. When applied, varnish formed a thin film layer which tend to porous. The purpose of this study was to analyze the comparison between porosity which formed in film layer of self-processed and  factory varnish. Method: This study was true experimental with  12 third upper molars that had been cut horizontally as specimens and were divided into 2 groups as treated and control groups. First group had 1, 2, 3 and 4 times application of processed varnish as treated sample and second group samples were applied with factory varnish as control sample. Porosity was tested using SEM then its percentage was calculated by comparing the  porosity and the tooth area. The data was then tested  with t- independent test. Result: The result showed that self-processed varnish obtained larger percentage of porosity. Started at the third application time, both processed and factory varnish showed no porosity. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study was that there is difference between  porosity which formed in film layer of self-processed and  factory varnish.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was aimed to describe and explain the differences of high school student’s achievement between students who followed learning process with real practicum and virtual practicum. The research was conducted on the topic of buffer. It is a quasi-experiment research with nonequivalent pre-test post-test control group design. The population was the student of class XI IPA SMA Laboratorium Undiksha on academic year 2017/2018. The samples were the students of XI IPA 1 class as experimental class and the students of XI IPA 2 class as control class that selected with cluster random sampling technique. The students in the experimental class followed the learning process with virtual practicum and the student in control class followed the learning process with real practicum. The data of chemistry student’s achievement were collected using the student achievement test. The data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential analysis.Descriptive analysis of chemistry student’s achievement were described in the form of the mean score of student’s pre-test and post-test. Inferential analysis of chemistry student’s achievement were analyzed using covarian analysis (Anacova). The Anacova test result showed the significant level on 0,041, which shown there were the significant differences of High school student’s achievement between the student who followed learning process with real practicum and virtual practicum. The mean score of student’s achievement in control class (81,55) was higher than experimental class (79,22)..Keywords: chemistry student’s achievemen, real practicum, virtual practicumt.

Abstract

This study intends to explain the principal's response to the teacher's ability to utilize technology-based media. In this study the approach used is a type of qualitative approach. Through a descriptive research model. With so many research subjects, there were four school principals. As well as structured interviews with a total of twelve questions used as a data collection method. The steps of qualitative research data analysis were then applied to all the data collected, by presenting data, presenting data, and writing conclusions. Based on the results of questions and answers that have been conducted with school principals, the ability of teachers to utilize technology-based media in Cluster XXII (Garot Public Elementary School, Garot Geuceu Public Elementary School, Jeumpet 1 Public Elementary School and Jeumpet 2 Public Elementary School) is still relatively low. From the results of interviews with the four school principals it is known that one of the inhibiting factors in utilizing technology-based media is inadequate facilities in schools so that teachers have not used technology-based media to the fullest, apart from inadequate facilities, there are still many teachers who are unable to apply information technology-based media because they are not used to using it during the teaching and learning process in class.
