Abstract

Nursing indeed is the art of caring and selfless giving of time, effort, love, and care. The patient is the center of nursing, and it is their responsibility to make sure they are receiving the right care that they can receive. There are so many ways to show caring that the possibilities never end. The purpose of this study was to generate knowledge which informed caring in nursing as a discipline within applying attributes of caring. Mayeroff and Roach’s attributes guided the concept analysis within the theoretical perspective of caring. The emerging themes are: Caring as the central focus of Nursing, Caring as a Profession and Discipline, Our perspective of caring, Our idea of a caring nurse, and How does Nurse care for others. Caring is everything and nurse should applying attributes of caring in the fields of nursing. Caring is not only able to care for the client, but also how the client is satisfied and the nurse always continues to improve knowledge and be innovative and creative. Abstract

Stigma and discrimination remain significant obstacles in the management of HIV / AIDS prevention programs. The data shows there are stigma and discrimination within the health service, treatment is not going well. PLWHA tends to be ashamed and afraid to control or get medicine in the hospital, injustice to the provision of services, thus, low quality of care, and lack of respect for patients. The purpose of this study was to reduce the stigma and discrimination of HIV / AIDS patients in the community, through community empowerment programs. Long-term benefits were finding the right design to reduce stigma and discrimination toward HIV / AIDS patients, through community empowerment by integrating the concepts of social support, social networks, and social marketing. One group pretest-posttest design was used in this research. Seventy-five respondents were taken purposively. The intervention was "Optimizing Program of WPA's Role in reducing stigma and discrimination toward HIV AIDS patients in the community". The results showed that before and after the intervention, the average of community members did not have a negative attitude, did not perceived discrimination, and supported the equity. However, there were still hesitant and had a negative attitude within several community members to HIV / AIDS patient and the numbers decreased after the intervention. Based on the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, there were significant differences in negative attitudes, perceived discrimination, and support for equity before and after intervention with significance levels respectively p = 0.049, p = 0.006, and p = 0.000. Intensive coordination and evaluation of activities are needed to ensure the sustainability of the WPA Optimization program. Keywords: WPA optimization program; stigma; discrimination; HIV / AIDS

Abstract

Nurses should be able to perform emergency obedient actions with knowledge base, in Kota Blitar nurses must have certificate of basic life support competence that still valid, nurses must follow the training if the certificate has expired, in Kota Blitar there are nurses who do not know the basic life support procedure that will affect a service quality. The purpose of this research is to know the nurse’s knowledge about basic life support based on AHA 2015 at UPTD Puskesmas Kota Blitar. The research method used descriptive research design, population is 59 nurses of UPTD Puskesmas Kota Blitar, sample of 30 nurses with purposive sampling technique. The data were collected by questionnaire. Result of research 26,7% good knowledge. 70% enough. 3.3% less. Knowledge is sufficient but needs to be upgraded to good in terms of indications of dismissal of basic life support, basic life support arrangements, and an indication of the success of basic life support. Suggestions for research are to conduct competence audits on nurses, and provide opportunities for training and basic life support update information.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has great case of natural disasters. One of disasters that recently occurred are the volcanic eruptions. Based on the interview with volunteer of kelud anchor in December 2015, there were communities that were less understand about disaster risk reduction efforts of the volcano. The purpose of the research was the efforts of disaster risk reduction (Mitigation) eruption of Kelud Mountain by the society in the area of Disaster-prone Areas (KRB) III Blitar Regency. This research used descriptive research design. The population of the research was all members of the community who live in area III KRB Kelud in Modangan. The sample was 60 people taken by quota sampling. The data collection was done by providing a closed-ended questionnaire multiple choice questions. Time data retrieval performed on 15-20 March 2016. The results showed that the public had the ability to either IE of 50% (30 people), enogh ability as 15% (10 people) and had less abilities i.e. as 35% (20 people). It was affected by the dissemination of prevention and disaster risk reduction. Recomendation for stakeholder of Modangan and Karangrejo village was to do socialitation in every or when there was sign of Kelud mountain activity.

Abstract

AIDS is a collection of specific clinical conditions that are the end result of infection by HIV. This raises the issue of psychiatric illness, namely depression. Depression is what causes the quality of life of patients with HIV / AIDS become less well. To handle this condition needed social support from family. The purposes of this study were to identify family support and levels of depression, and analyzed the correlation between the two variables. This study used correlative as research design. Purposive sampling is used to get samples. The total of study subjects were 34 people who registered in the registration book in January to October 2013, and visited hospitals in Cendana Polyclinic Ngudi Waluyo Hospital Wlingi and included the inclusion criteria. Family support data was obtained base of questionnaire and depression levels was obtained by The Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale questionnaire. Data showed that 94,1% respondents got family support well and  97,1% respondent have not depression symptoms. The correlation between family support with depression levels analyzed using Spearman's rho test with a significance level of p = 0.000, showed that the correlation between family support for the patient's level of depression of HIV / AIDS significantly. From this study can be concluded that the respondents with good family support did not experience symptoms of depression. Families need to provide support for its members who suffer from HIV / AIDS in order to prevent depression.

Abstract

Chronic renal failure (CRF) is a public health problem in the world and is now recognized as common diseases with risk of hemodialysis therapy. Hemodialysis can have an impact to the patient quality of life. The aim of the research was to describe the patient quality of life with renal failure underg hemodialysis at Mardi Waluyo Blitar hospital. The research used a descriptive research design. The population was all patients with renal failure which registered in Hemodialysis of Mardi Waluyo Blitar hospital on October-December 2014 as many as 84 patients. The sample was 34 patients selected by accidental sampling. The data collection was conducted on March 30th – April 4th, 2015. The data collecting used questionnaires of The World Health Organization Quality of Life (QoL WHO) which described physical health, psychological, social relationships, and environment. In general the quality life of renal failure patient underrgo hemodialysis in bad category was 55.9% (19 patients). This condition was due to a chronic disease and its complications potentially stressors including renal failure patient. Stressors that arise caused by environmental conditions, psychological state, and physical health. The study recommended that health services were expected to provide comfortability, improve maintenance functions, improve interpersonal relationships, and counseling.

Abstract

Indonesia has a lot of potential natural and non-natural disasters. Non-natural disasters which often happened are fire disasters. One of them was market fire. In January 2015 until April 2015, there was an increasing more than 50 on fire in bigger traditional market and 90 smaller traditional market in all over indonesia. The purpose of this research was to describe the marketeer preparedness of fire disaster management of Legi market Blitar city. The research method used descriptive design. The population in this research was a marketeer Legi Kota Blitar about 584 marketeer and the sample was 58 marketeer taken by purposive sampling technique. The data collection was conducted by questionnaire. The results showed that the lack of preparedness of marketeer in the fire disaster still less as much as 60.3% (35 marketeer). It was caused by there was no information of manner about the preparedness of fire disaster, no training, didn’t have the telephone number of fire department, no simple fire extinguishers, could not use a fire APAR or hydrant, and unable to perform first aid to fire victims. Recomendation of BPBD departement necessary gave education and training about fire disaster preparedness, especially in the market so it could decrease the risk of fire disaster in Legi market Blitar city.

Abstract

Miscarriage incident allegedly had an effect on the next pregnancy , either at the onset of complications of pregnancy and the outcome of pregnancy itself . Women with a history of miscarriage have a higher risk for preterm labor , recurrent miscarriage and low birth weight . The purpose of the research was to illustrates the attitude of pregnant women to prevent miscarriage with descriptive method . The population included all pregnant women who perform routine checks on Public Health Service UPTD Sananwetan Blitar during the period March 27 to 27 April 2014. The sample was 30 pregnant women first and second trimester with purposive sampling technique. The result was 53.3 % have a positive attitude , and 46.7 % have a negative attitude. It showed the attitude of pregnant women were lack in preventing miscarriage. There should be a more intensive outreach activities on the prevention of miscarriage by health employee to provide more detailed information, complete, and accurate.

Abstract

Disaster preparedness is a series of efforts made to anticipate the disaster through organizing as well as the steps effectively and usefull.  Identification of factors influencing nursing preparedness is beneficial in the preparation of government programs related to nursing preparedness in disaster management and nurses understand the factors that need to be considered.This study aimed  to identify the efectiveness  of disaster training to enhance knowledge, attitude and skill nurses in disaster management.Methode :This research is pre experimental  pretest posttest design . The number of samples is s 30  nurses who were in the Disaster-prone Region Kelud in Blitar district and the study was conducted on Oktober 16. Result of analysis used wilcoxon significancy 0,000 ( p< 0,05 )  that shows the dfference influencing knowledge, attitude and skill nurses after Disaster Training . Discussion: Disaster Training is very important to improve nursing preparedness in facing disaster. Nurse assocation and goverment must be able to give good support for disaster nurse.

Abstract

Temuan-temuan baru yang terus hadir secara dinamis sangat berguna bagi para ilmuwan dan calon ilmuwan untuk upaya pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan selanjutnya. Ilmuwan harus menyiapkan diri secara dini untuk menghasilkan temuan baru dalam bidang ilmunya masing-masing, melalui suatu aktivitas penelitian yang terstandar. Kemampuan menggali novelty dan cara menyampaikannya dalam suatu tulisan ilmiah (state of the art) merupakan hal yang dilatih oleh para calon ilmuwan sejak dini. Oleh karena itu, guna menjamin keberhasilannya para calon ilmuwan harus segera menyiapkan diri baik dari segi teknis maupun material, yang sangat membutuhkan keterampilan akses informasi dari scientific database.
