Abstract

Data and information on forest health conditions can be obtained by periodically monitoring forest health. Regular forest health monitoring can support the achievement of sustainable forest management so as to guarantee the quantity and quality of forests. This study aims to obtain the value of the status of forest conditions that are managed by the Sustainable Community Forestry System (SHK) group. This study uses the Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) method with a sample measuring plot in the form of six FHM clusters. The results showed that the value of the status of the condition of the forests managed by the SHK Lestari group was in the bad criteria (clusters 1, 2, 3, and 6) and good (clusters 4 and 5). Thus, the status of forest conditions managed by the SHK Lestari group is on average bad. Keywords; Forest health monitoring, SHK Lestari, Status values

Abstract

Agroforestry has been developed for community welfare. Agroforestry is a combination of forestry crops and agricultural crops. Agroforestry management can not be separated from the active role of the community so that it is closely related to the role of men and women (gender) in managing agroforestry. Sampling was carried out in September 2018 using the simple random sampling method. The method of data collection is interview using a questionnaire. Data was tabulated and analyzed descriptively qualitatively using Harvard gender model analysis. Agroforestry management activities carried out by farmers in Sungai Langka Village include pre-harvest, planting, maintenance, harvesting and transport activities and post-harvest activities (post-harvest activities and marketing). The results showed men who opposed pre-harvest activities with a percentage of 93.95%. This is because these activities are heavy work and require a large amount of energy so that they are suitable for work by men. Women dominate pre-harvest activities such as post-harvest and marketing activities with a percentage of 93.02%. This concerns this work is a light work and can be done while taking care of the household.

Abstract

Restoration is an effort to increase forest function for carrying capacity and maintenance of life support systems. Way Kambas National Park (TNWK) has been doing restoration activities at the Rawa Bunder Resort since 2021. This study aims to determine the strategy for developing the restoration of Rawa Bunder, TNWK. Collecting data through interviews with the parties (community and managers) using a questionnaire; then analyzing using the Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threats (SWOT) method. From the analysis results, the average total score on the IFAS matrix is 1.54, and the EFAS matrix is 1.15. These results indicate that the position of internal and external factors in the development strategy of the Rawa Bunder restoration, TNWK is in quadrant one. Thus, the strategy for developing the restoration of Rawa Bunder, TNWK, that must be applied is aggressive, namely by using strength to take advantage of opportunities.

Abstract

Social capital can improve people's welfare and community productivity as it is based on trust, norms, and social networks. Social capital is also influenced by community participation in sustainable forest management, one form of community participation can be in the form of agroforestry management. This study aims to determine the effect of social capital in increasing the income of agroforestry communities managing HKm in the Batutegi Forest Management Unit (KPH) area. Cluster Random Sampling in HKm KPHL Batu Tegi has 15 Gapoktan including Gapoktan Wanatani Lestari, Gapoktan Mahardika, and Gapoktan Hijau Makmur. In this study, the number of samples used for each gapoktan was 50 respondents so that the total number of respondents from the three gapoktans was 150 respondents. The results showed that there was no significant effect of trust performance on earnings. This shows that in HKm the higher/lower the trust between farmers, the higher/lower the influence of social capital on income will be. A significant influence can be seen from the performance of social networks on income. This shows that the influence of the performance of the social network has a positive direction, and it means that the higher the level of the social network, the higher the income of the community.
