Abstract

Childbirth complications that are directly caused by prolonged labor are 2.8% of deaths from the maternal mortality rate worldwide which is 69,000. Factors that affect the smooth delivery are power, passage, passenger, psychological and helper. One way to maximize these factors is to do prenatal yoga. Prenatal yoga can increase the elasticity of the pelvic muscles that play a role in the delivery process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of prenatal yoga on the second stage of labor. This research is a literature review with a traditional type of review, articles taken from 3 databases (Google Scholar, PubMed, ResearchGate) from the 2017-2021 range. Screening was carried out based on the PICOT so that 10 articles were obtained (5 national and 5 international articles). All articles found that the duration of labor in the second stage of labor was shorter for mothers who did prenatal yoga than those who didn’t. Nine out of ten articles had p-value<0.05 and 1 article had p-value>0.05 which means that prenatal yoga was effective in shortening the second stage of labor. It is hoped that health workers will facilitate prenatal yoga for pregnant women because the combination of movements is useful in facilitating the delivery process

Abstract

Neonatal jaundice is one of the causes of neonatal death in Indonesia. Jaundice can be caused by the accumulation of unconjugated bilirubin, one of which is due to lack of breastfeeding in the first week of birth. This literature study aimed to determine the relationship between the frequency of breastfeeding and the incidence of neonatal jaundice. This literature study was conducted by determining the topic and formulating the PICOT. The criteria for articles reviewed by articles spanning the years 2016-2020 and using the Google Scholar database. The keywords used were “ASI” AND “Icterus neonatorum” or “Breastfeeding” AND “Jaundice”. Based on a review of 5 research articles, it was found that if breastfeeding was carried out with a frequency of 8-12 times per day, newborns could experience physiological neonatal jaundice. A review of 4 articles showed that there was a relationship between breastfeeding and neonatal jaundice and 1 article showed that there was no relationship between breastfeeding and neonatal jaundice. The more frequent breastfeeding, the lower the possibility of neonatal jaundice. This shows the role of midwives and breastfeeding counselors in providing IEC during pregnancy and breastfeeding, breastfeeding practices include the position of the breast attachment, implementation of IMD in newborns without complications, and breastfeeding immediately after the baby is born, all of which can support the frequency of breastfeeding and reduce the incidence of neonatal jaundice Keywords: Breastfeeding, Neonatal Jaundice

Abstract

Early mobilization is very important for post-Section Caesarea patients to help the process of uterine involution and lochea removal. Most of the post-Section Caesarea mothers are afraid to do early mobilization because they are afraid to feel post-Section Caesarea pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between early mobilization and the amount of lochia expenditure in mothers 6 hours post-Section Caesarea at Baladhika Husada Hospital. The research design used is the correlation with cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was all post-Section Caesarea mothers at Baladhika Husada Hospital. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling which was carried out from December 2019 to January 2020 with a total of 53 samples. Analysis of the data used is the chi-square test. The results of this study showed that most of the 6-hour post-SC mothers did early mobilization (54.8%) and almost half of the mothers who did early mobilization had normal lochea discharge (35.8%). The results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between early mobilization and the amount of lochia expenditure in mothers 6 hours post-Section Caesarea (p-value 0.036). Early mobilization increases blood circulation in the uterus so that the uterus can contract properly, clamping open blood vessels and the lochia can come out smoothly. Keywords: Sectio Caesarea, Early Mobilization, Lochea Expenses.
