Abstract

Health problems of older adults and the elderly are very important to note, because life expectancy is longer, but on the other hand the emergence of various diseases in older adults and the elderly such as Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Heart Disease, Stroke and other degenerative diseases. On the other hand, patterns of poor eating habits such as frequent consumption of fat, lack of eating vegetables add to the bad health of older adults and the elderly. The Minister of Health in commemoration of National Health Day 2017 invites the Indonesian people to eat vegetables every day which is one of the GERMAS actions. The purpose of Community Service is to find out the knowledge and behavior of vegetable and fruit consumption in elderly and elderly adults in the District of Ubud, Gianyar Regency. The results of dedication are known that there is an increase in knowledge after counseling. Before counseling the average value of target knowledge is 3.7 and after extension the average value of knowledge is 7.2. Before counseling, 61.4% lacked knowledge and 36.4% good knowledge. After knowledge education less decreased to 27.3% and good knowledge increased to 68.2%. The behavior of vegetable and fruit consumption in general is good but not based on good knowledge. Especially the consumption of fruit depends on what is available from what is delivered during prayer.Keywords: Elderly, Consumption, Vegetables and Fruits

Abstract

The prevalence of anemia in Indonesia in female students is still quite high at 21.7%. Female students are one of the groups that are susceptible to anemia because they have menstruation every month so much loss of iron. One cause of iron nutritional anemia is the lack of consumption of animal protein. This study aims to determine the description of animal protein consumption, consumption of fe suplementation and anemia incidence for female students in SMA N 1 Payangan Gianyar regency. The type of the research was used observational with the cross-sectional design. The sample of the students of class XI was amounted to 86 samples. The results showed that more half the level of animal protein consumption of the sample is good amounted to 35 samples (41%). Consumption data of fe suplementation that did not drink amounted to 11 samples (12.8%). The results for examination of hemoglobin content, the samples classified into anemic has amounted to 27 samples (31%). The data analysis showed that consumption of animal protein had a positive relationship to the incidence of anemia. The higher the consumption of animal protein the smaller the incidence of anemia. Female students should consume animal protein in accordance with the need to form sufficient hemoglobin levels.Kata Kunci: Consuming of animal protein, Anemia, Consuming of fe suplemetation, High school female student

Abstract

The prevalence of low consumption of vegetable and fruit in population age 10 years is 93.6%, and the number in the province of Bali is 96.5%. The same prevalence in Badung Regency as much as 95.9%. This research aims to discuss the consumption of vegetable and fruit and nutritional status. This is a cross sectional study using 82 samples. The study found that 95.1% samples had less of vegetable consumption, and 56.1% had enough consumption of fruit. Most of sample about 71.9% had normal nutrition status, and 3.7% were thin category. However there were 14.6% samples fat and 9.8% were in obesity. Vegetable and fruit consumption should be increased in teenagers to prevent the occurrence of cancer.Keywords: vegetable and fruit, consumption, nutritional status
