Abstract

Lifestyle changes become the foundation in primary and secondary prevention of lipid and lipoprotein disorders. The aim of the study was to know the effectiveness of low fat diet and low carbohydrate diet with aerobic exercise toward lipid profile change. Type of experimental research with pre test-post test control group design. The sample of adult women in the city of Denpasar as many as 33 people, aged 30-50 years, IMT 25-30 kg/m2, allocated to 3 groups. Group 1 applied a low-fat diet, group 2 applied a low-carbohydrate diet and a group of 3 controls. Before and after the intervention a blood lipid profile was measured. Changes in blood lipid profile before and after intervention were analyzed by paired t-test. The difference in mean blood lipid profile in all three groups was analyzed by One Way Anova test. Low-fat diet and low-carbohydrate diet can lower total cholesterol and LDL-C significantly (p <0.05). The average decrease in total cholesterol with low fat diet was 16.82 mg/dL and low carbohydrate diet 14.64 mg/dL. Decreased LDL-C with a low-fat diet of 13.36 mg/dL and low-carbohydrate diet of 7.45 mg/dL. There was no significant difference in lipid profile changes between low fat diets compared to low carbohydrate diets (p>0.05). Thus a low-fat diet is as effective as a low-carb diet to improve lipid profile.

Abstract

Vegetables and fruits are foods that contain lots of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. Low fiber intake is one of the factors causing obesity. The aim of the study was to prove the effect counseling of “Germas” (Community Movement for Healthy Life) on Body Mass Index (BMI) of adult women in the fitness center. The study design was the randomized pre and post-test control group design. Group 1 was given counseling of community movement for healthy life once a week for six weeks and group 2 as a control. The study was conducted at La Studio and Bali Guna Studio, Denpasar, in 2019. Subjects were women aged 30-49 years old, active doing aerobics in the fitness center, BMI 25-30 Kg/m2. Before and after the intervention, measurement of variables such as consumption of vegetables and fruits, exercise frequency, duration of exercise, and BMI. The Paired t-test tested differences in variables before and after intervention in each group. Counseling intervention for six weeks can significantly increase consumption of vegetables and fruit 2,22±0,93 servings (p= 0,000), increase exercise frequency 0,67±0,69 times per week (p= 0,001), increasing exercise duration 30,56±34,89 minutes per week (p= 0,002), decreasing BMI 0,47±0,22 kg/m2 (p= 0,000). Conclusion “Germas” counseling, which is done once a week for six weeks, can significantly increase the implementation of Germas and reduce BMI. Rancangan penelitian the randomized pre and post test control group design. Abstract

Bali is one of the provinces in Indonesia that has a Diabetes Mellitus rate above the national prevalence. According to the results of the 2020 study, 56.9% of DM patients did not understand diet education and did not comply with the diet by 56.9% with abnormal blood glucose levels of 63.9%. The results confirmed that repeated exposure with the right method, especially with The theoretical model is very effective in increasing knowledge and adherence to diet and chromium consumption patterns in DM patients. Chromium is effective in improving blood glucose levels in people with Diabetes Mellitus (Types 1 and 2). Chromium improves glucose metabolism in patients with prediabetic glucose intolerance and all women with gestational diabetes. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of nutrition education using a transtheoretical model and the effect of chromium picolinate supplementation on dietary adherence behavior, chromium consumption patterns, and blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. This type of research is quasi-experimental. The research design used was one group pretest-posttest. This design does not use a comparison group (control) but uses the first observation (pretest) which allows testing the changes that occur after the experiment or program (Notoatmodjo, 2010). The study was conducted at the Denpasar Health Center. The results showed that there were differences in the level of knowledge and consumption of chromium and blood glucose levels in DM patients. However, there was no difference in the attitude and level of dietary compliance of DM patients.

Abstract

Nutrition problems occur in every life cycle, starting in the womb (fetus), infants, children, adults and old age. To get good nutrition in infants, the mother must as soon as possible breastfeed her newborn baby because breast milk provides complete and sufficient nutrition in maintaining health and maintaining the survival of the baby. After the mother is 9 months pregnant, the baby will get the main food from exclusive breastfeeding. The government has issued Government Regulation No. 33/2012 concerning exclusive breastfeeding. Based on the Profile of the Denpasar City Health Office (2017) in 2017 exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Denpasar was 47.65%, while the lowest exclusive breastfeeding coverage was in Pusksesmas I West Denpasar which was 41.27%. The low coverage of Exclusive ASI is closely related to knowledge and motivation of mothers about Exclusive ASI. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and motivation of mothers with exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of the West Denpasar Health Center I. This type of research is observational with cross-sectional design and the number of research samples is 71 women under two. Data collected by interview method. Data analysis used the Yates Chi Square Correction statistical test. The results showed that, mothers who had a good level of knowledge were 94.4%, sufficient level of knowledge (5.6%), and the level of knowledge was lacking. While the motivation of mothers (73.2%) included good categories, as many as (26.8%) included enough categories, and there were no mothers with poor motivation. It is known that (45.1%) mothers give exclusive breastfeeding, and (54.9%) mothers do not give exclusive breastfeeding. Chi square test shows there is no relationship between the level of knowledge and motivation of mothers in the working area of the West Denpasar Health Center I, p value = 0.617. There is a relationship between mother's motivation towards exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of the West Denpasar Health Center I, p value = 0.001.Keywords: Knowledge Level, Mother's Motivation, Exclusive Breastfeeding
