Abstract

Working as a female migrant worker has a positive and negative impact. Negative impacts include children who are left without love, this will cause children to experience intellectual, emotional and moral social problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in emotional intelligence of teenagers with the employment status of mothers as migrant workers and non-migrant workers. Method used comparative descriptive research design with cross sectional approach. Sample was 31 teenagers with mothers of migrant workers and 30 teenagers with non-migrant mothers was taken by purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted at Nurul Huda and Mambaul Ulum Islamic junior high school, and also junior high public school 1 Bantur in September 2017. The dependent variable was emotional intelligence, measured by the TEIQue-ASF questionnaire (Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire Adolescent Short Form). Data analyzed by independent t test. The average value of emotional intelligence in teenager with mothers of migrant worker is 129.03, in teenager with non migrant workers is 141.53. P value (0.005) < α (0.05), meaning that there are differences in emotional intelligence in both teenagers, where in teenager with non migrant worker their emotional intelligence is higher. Parental attachments, especially mothers can influence emotional response patterns, so this will affect emotional intelligence. It is recommended to the school to monitor emotional intelligence, because it can have an impact on their social behavior and conduct direction to surrogate family members who work as migrant workers about how to educate children in their teens. Keywords : Emotional Quotient, teenager, Mother Migrant Workers, Mother Non Migrant Workers

Abstract

Paper factory in Indonesia contributes greatly to the country's economy, especially the non-oil export sector. However, the result of industrial process waste or waste causes environmental pollution problems if it is not managed properly and has an impact on the surrounding community. The purpose of this study was to identify the respiratory status function of the impact of paper mill waste. This research is descriptive-explorative. That aims to describe variables related to respiratory problems, sociodemographic characteristics of factory workers include: age, sex, use of PPE (personal protective equipment), BMI (body mass index), respiratory function examined by Spirometry and instrument SGRQ. The population in this study were factory workers, sampling using purposive sampling. Forty-two people included in this study, conducted in July-August 2019. Respiratory function was measured using SGRQ (St George's Respiratory Questionnaire) instrument to measure the quality of life on patient respiratory function and Spirometry to measure FEV 1 / FVC (forced expiratory volume in 1 second). Results 41 (93.18%) abnormal spirometry values, mean FEV 1/FVC 65.04% (SD: 23:53), mean spirometry prediction of 77.27% (SD: 24.98). SGRQ shows a worse quality of life for factory workers. The conclusions of the study respondents had an abnormal respiratory function. Encourage factory workers to use PPE and improve their nutritional status to reduce symptoms in their respiratory problems. The community cannot leave the job even though it hurts health because the work is a source of family income so they may not leave it. Keywords: SGRQ, respiratory function, paper factory waste, Spirometry Abstrak : Pabrik kertas di Indonesia memberikan kontribusi sangat besar dalam bidang perekonomian Negara, terutama bidang ekspor non migas.

Abstract

Background: Sleep disorders are a long-term issue for breast cancer survivors (BCS). Sleep disorders are among the top five most bothersome lasting difficulties in BCS, and they have a greater risk of sleep disorders than healthy persons and other cancer patients. Failure to understand sleep disorders in breast cancer patients causes nurses to be unable to give interventions appropriately.Purpose: To clarify the definition of sleep disorders in breast cancer survivors.Method: We comprehensively searched electronic databases from CINAHL, PubMed, and Ovid-MEDLINE. We used the eight steps from Walker and Avant to conduct a concept analysis. This approach was chosen because it gives a philosophical understanding of the concept using linguistic philosophy techniques. Model case and other cases were provided to give a conceptual definition of sleep disorders. Results: Finally, 62 studies were included. We found five antecedents of sleep disorder in breast cancer patients: psychological and emotional stress, physical symptoms, cancer treatment, lack of social support, and sociodemographic factors. This study found four common attributes of sleep disorders 1). abnormal sleep pattern, 2). troubling complaint, 3). persistent complaint, and 4). sleep difficulty. Finally, we found a reduction in quality of life as consequence of sleep disorder in breast cancer patients. Conclusion: Sleep disorders in breast cancer need attention and must be integrated into regular palliative care practices.
