Abstract

This study presents the analysis of ground settlement and stabilisation that aims to estimate the soil types, ground settlement and stabilization of the soil in Disposal Area Semarang River. The data of the two soils from this area was used as samples to represent the average soil condition. A preloading model by applying five meter embankment was used to consolidate the soil. To estimate the immediate and consolidation settlement and the change of excess pore water pressure, PLAXIS application program was used. Based on the analysis from 30 meter soil layer of the two soil samples, it was shown that this area of Semarang River had the soil type SE or soft soil. Having the embankment as load, there was the settlement as big as 2.57-2.64 meters in which took 64.5 years to happen with the consolidation degree 90 per cent that was equal to the settlement 4 centimeters per year. From the stage constructions in PLAXIS, the result was reliable as to the increase of shear strength after consolidating. It was shown that there was the increase of shear strength amounting to 13 per cent from 282.61 kN/m2 (initial condition) to 318.75 kN/m2 (after consolidation). To decrease the time for soil to consolidate,  vertical and horizontal drains can be proposed. With the vertical drain having distance in between 1 meter and a triangle pattern, the time to reach the full settlement just 4.2 weeks. Key words :     Soil types, settlement, preloading, vertical drain, Disposal Area Kali Semarang

Abstract

Indonesia is a large bamboo producer. Many benefits can be taken from bamboo trees, among others, as an alternative material for environmentally friendly construction, handicraft, and even become a safe material for use. Based on the property of its mechanical strength, bamboo has high tensile strength and fiber content, including fiber length, inter-fiber adhesive, namely lignin and the higher diameter of bamboo fiber, causing bamboo stems to become stronger and stiffer so that bamboo quality is getting better. One objective is to use a texture analysis of statistical features extraction of digital image processing. Feature extraction is a process to get the characteristics of visual perception. Texture information can be used to distinguish the surface properties of objects in images that are related to coarse and fine. This research uses a second-order statistical calculation of Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrices (GLCM) by measuring contrast, energy, homogeneity, and correlation levels to determine roughness from bamboo image textures that have irregular patterns. The second method is to use similarity measurements with the K-NN method in which in this study K = 3 with testing images of 28 images obtained an accuracy of 0.8, precission of 0, 8 and f-measurement of 0.9.

Abstract

A contract change order (CCO) is a job change activity in a construction project that is carried out during the work implementation period. This study aims to determine the factors that cause contract change orders, analyze the impact given if there is a contract change order and analyze what strategies must be done to resolve the occurrence of contract change orders in the implementation of the Alton Apartment building construction project located in the city of Semarang. The data collected in this study used a semi-structured interview method with competent sources in their field, while the sources for data collection were construction management consultants (MK), contractors & owners. The Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threats (SWOT) analysis method is used to determine the right strategy to deal with CCO activities. The conclusion of the study, CCO was caused by an imperfect design that resulted in the achievement of time and costs not being on target, the strategy was obtained by accelerating work, controlling each work and project cashflow and referring back to the wholesale contract that was mutually agreed upon in the event of a dispute.

Abstract

Jendral Sudirman road is one of the streets in Batang Regency which has function as primary artery and it has main access to connect vital locations. It makes Jendral Sudirman road has several transportation problems. In the planning, design and establishment of various transportation system policies, traffic flow theory of movement has very important role. To facilitate the application of traffic flow theory of movement used a mathematical approach which was used to analyze the phenomenon that took place in the traffic flow. One of approach ways to comprehend the traffic behavior was by verifying it into mathematical and graphics relationships with observing to the relationship among the speed (S), density (D) and volume (V) traffic. The objective of this study was to determine traffic flow characteristics on Jendral Sudirman Road consisting of three (3) main parameters such as volume, speed and density by using mathematical models included Greenshield, Greenberg and Underwood Model. In addition, this study also aimed to determine the results of a comparison of one of the chosen model with the road capacity calculation based on MKJI 1997.Based on the data analysis  by using Greenshield model, it was known that the characteristics of the traffic on Jendral Sudirman road values obtained free flow speed (Sf)= 45.53 km/h, density jam (Dj)= 38.31 unit/km and maximum volume or road capacity(Vmax)= 1774.25 unit/hour. The estimation result of model was calculated using Greenshield model and estimation capacity calculations of MKJI 1997 had a difference about 15.49%. This could be evidence that generalize the use of manual book as MKJI 1997 in estimating the value of a certain road location capacity without researching driver behavior, vehicle characteristics and the environment of the road would be at risk in the capacity estimation results obtained. Therefore, the use of existing guidelines such as the 1997 MKJI needs carefulness in assessing the environmental condition of the road and traffic characteristics. Keywords : TrafficCharacteristic, Volume, Speed, Density, Greenshield, Greenberg, Underwood
