Abstract

This research is based on the importance of applying occupational health and safety to employees of palm oil mills, It is worth noting that by providing awareness to factory employees about occupational health and safety will improve the performance of these employees.The purpose of this research is to know the characteristics of factory employees in the production section and the influence of occupational health and safety on the performance of employees of palm oil mills production parts.The time and place of this research was conducted on December 2 to December 21, 2020 and took place at PT. DSN and located in Muara Wahau District. The research method used is quantitative by using the dissemination of statement questionnaires with variables of health, safety, and employee performance. Researcher data processing techniques use validity tests, reliability tests, and multiple linear regression analysis through spss 22 applications.From the results of research activities that have been conducted by researchers obtained data that shows that there is a positive and significant influence between occupational health and safety variables to the performance variables of factory employees.

Abstract

Good management of palm oil harvesters can reduce labor error rate during harvest, increasing work productivity, while also facilitate the achievement of company goals. This research aims to determine the effect of workforce characteristics, namely age, length of work and education on the productivity of palm oil harvest, as well as to determine whether harvest productivity is in accordance with company targets. The results of this research are expected to provide input for companies regarding the productivity of palm oil harvest and also as a reference for recruiting harvesters. Data analysis method used in this research is multiple linear regression. Result is determined using census method, as the sample is less than 100 people with the number of respondents reached 52 people. Based on the research results, it was indicated that length of work, age and education do not affect the productivity of harvesters at Long Ayan Estate PT. Berau Karetindo Lestari. The average labor productivity of harvesters reached 281.06 bunches/weekdays; thus, the workforce was able to achieve the target set by the company of 175 bunches/weekdays.

Abstract

Kelurahan Sempaja Utara memiliki wilayah yang cukup luas dibandingkan dengan kelurahan lain yang ada di Kota Samarinda. Wilayah yang sebagian besar lahan yang cocok untuk dijadikan sebagai lahan pertanian menjadi potensi dalam pengembangan tanaman rosella. Pekarangan rumah yang di wilayah ini juga masih tergolong luas, sehingga cocok untuk digunakan untuk menanam bunga rosella. Tanaman rosella dapat diolah menjadi beberapa produk olahan yang kaya manfaat, di antaranya yaitu diolah menjadi selai dan syrup. Tujuan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi dan sosialisasi kepada kelompok rumah tangga dalam pehamaman manfaat tanaman rosella, pengolahan menjadi syrup dan selai, pemahaman sebagai peluang bisnis yang menjanjikan, serta pemahaman harga jual dan pangsa pasar syrup dan selai rosella. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan sosialisasi langsung kepada peserta dengan mempraktikkan pengolahan bunga rosella. Kegiatan berjalan dengan lancar dan diikuti oleh anggota dasawisma yang menghasilkan produk berupa selai dan syrup yang dibagikan kepada peserta kegiatan. Berbagai manfaat yang terkandung dalam bunga rosella diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi masyarakat untuk dalam memanfaatkannya jika diperlukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil pelaksanaan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa peningkatan softskill pemahaman manfaat tanaman rosella 100%, pemahaman pengolahan menjadi syrup dan selai 100%, pemahaman sebagai peluang bisnis yang menjanjikan 100%, serta pemahaman harga jual dan pangsa pasar syrup dan selai rosella 70%.
