IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING RECOUNT TEXT THROUGH WRITING DAIRY MIMIN AMINAH

Abstract

The research using classroom action research method, this research involved students in tenth grade at SMKN Cijambe. The research data obtained from tests for three cycles, and observation sheets. Furhermore the data was analyzed to determine the increase in students' ability of writing recount text and also the response of students towards teaching recount text by using writing dairy.The improvement appeared in the average of the score in the cycle I, Cycle II and cycle III. The average score in cycle I was 61,59 and it increased into 76,9 in cycle II. In the cycle III the average was 79,63. The students who passed Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM) was 27% or it was 6 students in cycle I and it was 77% passing the KKM or it was 17 students passing the KKM in cycle II. In third cycle all students passed KKM with 100% or it was 22 students passing the KKM in cycle III. The minimum score in cycle I was 45 but it was 55 in cycle II. The minimum score was 75 in cycle III. The maximum score was 80 in cycle I and it was 85 in cycle II, finally 85 in cycle III. The results data analysis demonstrate that using writing dairy method can improve students' writing ability on recount text. The students’ also gave a good response. It demonstrate on observation sheet that filled out by the observer during three cycles.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengaruh motivasi belajar pada model pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris dalam kurikulum 2013. Instrumen yang digunakannya adalah test dan angket. Jumlah sample yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 38 siswa terdiri dari kelas X IPS 1 dan X IPS 2 di SMA Negeri Serangpanjang-Subang. Hasil perhitungan tersebut meningkat. Untuk Pre-test rata-rata dan untuk post-test 42.43 dan post-test memiliki rata-rata 63.36. Hasil dari kuesioner Discovery Learning menyatakan bahwa 0.940 > 0.60 berarti instrument variable Discovery Learning dinyatakan variable. Sedangkan hasil kuesioner motivasi belajar siswa menyatakan 0.784> 0.60 berarti instrument variable motivasi belajar dinyatakan variable. Kesimpulannya menunjukan ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest pada penelitian ini.

Abstract

Self-Regulated Learning adalah kemandirian siswa untuk mengelola pembelajaran sedemikian rupa guna meningkatkan capaian pembelajaran mereka. Menurut Stephen Brookfield (2000:130-133) mengemukakan bahwa kemandirian belajar merupakan kesadaran diri, digerakkan oleh diri sendiri, kemampuan belajar untuk mencapai tujuannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengaruh kemandirian belajar siswa terhadap keterampilan berbicara bahasa inggris siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan cluster random sampling, yaitu menghubungkan antara data yang menunjukkan kemandirian belajar dengan data yang menunjukkan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa. Dari data yang diperoleh peneliti pada saat penelitian terbukti bahwa Self-Regulated Learning mampu meningkatkan keterampilaan berbicara siswa secara signifikan. Data tentang variabel kemandirian belajar diperoleh melalui angket yang disusun oleh peneliti untuk mengukur kemampuan Self-Regulated Learning Siswa. Sedangkan data tentang keterampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris diperoleh melalui pre-test dan post-test yang dilaksanakan oleh peneliti terhadap responden.

Abstract

Abstract—In Pandemic situation students forced to deal with learning in 4.0 era. This era demanding student to be active in learning process. Thus, students’ factor, take control result of teaching learning beyond all kind of learning model that was presented in any research. Intrinsic motivation is one of many factors that can impact on success or failure for a complex challenge. With high motivation students could looking for many ways to get their goals. It is very affected when students have good motivation to study English as a new skill for them. In Indonesia exclusively, English is a foreign language. In a public senior high school mostly English just 4 hours per-weeks and it is less than enough to improve Students English skill, so here motivation take important part to make sure they could find another way to improve their English Skill in the condition that could not support their needs. Therefore, the purpose of this research to investigate how effective intrinsic motivation on English language learning among secondary school students. The data were collected through observational field notes, questionnaire and test of English competency. The researcher expected this research can give overview about students’ language learning process and outcomes.

Abstract

At this time the development of information technology is growing very rapidly. This development can certainly be used in various aspects of human life, and one of them is in the education sector. Blended Learning is a learning method that is produced by utilizing the development of technology and information. The influence is clearly visible, one of which is the learning method. The learning method that used to be done only face-to-face in the classroom and made educators as an information center (conventional) gradually began to change towards learning which is also online based on the internet as an information center. This study uses a descriptive method and a qualitative approach to produce a conclusion that, briefly, the use of Blended learning in the development of English lessons is a new method that combines the e-Learning system with conventional or face-to-face methods. Finally, the role of technology can provide a new learning method that takes place actively, openly and provides a different atmosphere when students are in class, through the Missing Pieces Activities technique and line application, English language learning is applied by providing various kinds of learning activities which include: , listening activities (with Missing Words), speaking activities (with Missing Small Thing), and reading activities (with Missing Sentences) on the other hand the use of line applications for the English learning process is carried out by uploading several practice questions, including major in the discussion of reading and speaking

Abstract

Learning is an active process that involves many components that determine learning achievement. One aspect that can turn into measurement indicator of success are learning method and the students themselves. Nevertheless, students are performers as well as determinants of the learning achievement. Student involvement in learning is a necessity, both in the form of attention and producing a product. Especially in online learning during the pandemic, students are required to have more engagement in seeking an understanding of learning. Furthermore, Project-Based Learning (PBL) is one of the alternative solutions that was conducted in this research. PBL is one of the teaching methods that is considered the most ideal to be applied in productive skills courses. As well to facilitating evaluation, PBL will also be able to support the needs of students to "bound" to produce products and maintain engagement with courses during the lecture period. The data shows that PBL is effective to improve students’ learning achievement.

Abstract

The development of information technology has brought a lot of changes in various sectors of human life, this is also followed by the development of mobile phones, which are increasingly different because they are driven by several important features in it, one of the operating systems that are often used on cellphones or smartphones in this era. now is android operating system. The operating system is the most important type of software, that's because on its part there are several important elements, especially in running programs and applications, besides that the operating system is also a part of the national education program curriculum with the hope of improving learning achievement in students. all student. Mobile learning is a new method that emerged thanks to the help of android systems, laptops, computers, to make it easier for students to access various learning materials, besides that mobile learning can also be accessed easily and practically and is not hampered by space and time. This study uses a descriptive method, with a quantitative approach, while the results of this study explain that in fact, teaching using technology and information media teaching materials as a new alternative in delivering various materials to students is indeed very appropriate, especially on subjects that are often complained of by students so that it gives results that are not optimal. The mobile learning method seems to be widely applied to English subjects, as is what happened in the SMA 2 Subang school environment, in order to keep up with the developments in the world of education which continues to experience changes in various things, the SMA 2 Subang school chooses the mobile learning method to be placed as one of the one of the driving factors in understanding various English language education materials, this is very reasonable considering the learning process that has been applied so far has not been able to be digested properly by all students, even it seems very boring.

Abstract

Dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas komunikasi pada Desa Wisata yang terletak di Desa Cibeusi Kabupaten Subang Provinsi Jawa Barat, pada kegiatan Pengabdian ini berupa Teknik Demonstrasi Pembelajaran Komunikasi Umum Bahasa Inggris yang di tujukkan untuk anak-anak di desa tersebut. Desa Cibeusi memiliki banyak potensi agrowisata destinasi wisata yang indah antara lain: Curug Ciangin, Camping Ground Muara Jambu, dan yang menjadi unggulan adalah Curug Cibareubeuy. Tidak hanya itu, dikarenakan lokasi Desa Cibeusi berdekatan dengan Kawasan Wisata Sari Ater, maka yang berkunjung ke wilayah tersebut tidak hanya wisatawan domestik akan tetapi ada juga wisatawan mancanegara, sehingga masyarakat ataupun pengelola sudah seyogyanya memahami Bahasa pengantar dalam berkomunikasi seperti Bahasa Asing salah satunya adalah Bahasa Inggris. Dalam hal ini pembentukan SDM unggul perlu dilakukan kedepannya dalam berbahasa Inggris. Dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini harus terus berkelanjutan sehingga tujuan dari kegiatan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris ini bisa menyerap Bahasa pengantar tidak hanya untuk anak-anak tetapi untuk para pemuda di Desa Cibeusi untuk kedepannya.

Abstract

This research presents the results of the experiment method with the design by using one group pre-post-test design. The purpose of this study is to determine that students comprehend and interpretative the material in learning English for Specific Purposes (ESP). The results and discussion in the form of descriptive consists of 53 students in computer science learning English. Meanwhile, data collection techniques were carried out by observation and questionnaire. All students responded positively to the program. It is to stimulate their opinions, ideas, issues, and abilities or skills all the while encouraging them in learning a variety of English-related topics. The research to know (1) the effect of student motivation on students’ computer science in learning English achievement (2) the computer students' English material needs related to the “English for Computer Science” or students' analysis needs on students’ computer science. In other words, the English learning material in Students’ Computer Science improves students’ motivation in EFL learning and is regarded to be efficient and can enhance overall student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Students active learning in EFL Class is a necessity because language learning without practicing decrease the effectivity of learning achievement. In today curriculum no more teacher centered at class, the curriculum demand student active learning through teaching learning process. As a consequence, the teacher required to find the appropriate activity to make sure their students learning activity will always be continuing even beyond the class hour. This research tried to investigate the implementation of project-based learning on EFL Class and its effect on student learning autonomy. This study employs descriptive qualitative research design at University Students. The qualitative data collected through document analysis and observation. The result of data analysis shows that Project-based Learning improve students self-learning awareness, self-instruction, self-direction that reflect a learning autonomy activity. Due to the data result it can be concluded that Project-based Learning one of effective activity to be alternative to improve students learning autonomy.
