Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses dan hasil pembelajaran speaking dengan menggunakan teknik Information Gap di kelas II sekolah dasar Laboratorium UPI Kampus Cibiru. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan PTK dengan model spiral Kemmis dan Mc Taggart yang terdiri dari 3 siklus. Kegiatan pembelajaran dalam setiap siklus menggunakan teknik Information Gap yang menekankan pada komunikasi nyata ‘real communication’ sehingga dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam berbicara bahasa Inggris. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian selama 3 siklus, pembelajaran speaking dengan teknik Information Gap dapat menciptakan suasana pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang menyenangkan dan menggairahkan serta dapat meningkatkan kemampuan speaking siswa, terbukti dengan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata hasil speaking siswa pada setiap siklusnya yaitu pada siklus I rata-rata siswa yang memperoleh nilai baik adalah 31,81%, siklus II adalah 52 %, dan siklus III adalah 80%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, penulis merekomendasikan kepada para guru untuk menerapkan teknik Information Gap dalam pembelajaran speaking di sekolah dasar dengan persiapan yang baik dan matang mulai dari perencanaan pembelajaran, media, sampai kepada evaluasi yang digunakan.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover spelling errors (letter use errors, word writing, and punctuation use) of fifth grade students ofelementary schools in South Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency. To achieve this goal qualitative descriptive research iscarried out with steps: collecting data on students' language errors and conducting language error analysis. The researchsubjects were fifth grade students of Margacinta Elementary School, Manangga Elementary School, and Pasanggrahan IElementary School, South Sumedang District. The results of the study showed that there were errors in language in students'narrative essays which included spelling errors (letter usage errors, word writing, and punctuation errors). Spelling errors thatoften appear are errors in capital letters, incorrect writing of prepositions, errors in the use of punctuation, errors in writingwords that are not in accordance with the rules of the correct language, and errors in writing of particles. The largest number ofmisspellings is Manangga Elementary School with a number of spelling errors of 52 (43.33%) and the smallest number ofmisspellings, namely Margacinta Elementary School with 27 (22.5%) errors.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of bibliotherapy in improving honest character of elementary school students. The background in this research is the low honest character of elementary school students. Based on the results of interview to teachers and parents, the character that must be strengthened on the elementary students are honest character. This is because many students in elementary school started to act dishonestly from cheating and lying. Bibliotherapy is a method of healing (therapy) using books.  The type of this research is a pre-eksperimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects are 10 students from 3rd grade of SDN Kananga in Jatinangor district-Sumedang Regency. The research data were collected through the pretest and posttest scores using the measurements of the honestly scale. Based on the calculation results of the N-Gain score test, it shows that the average N-Gain score using bibliotheraphy is 78.76 with a minimum N-Gain score is 74.15 and a maximum N-Gain score is 83,36. It is included in the effective category with high level of effectiveness criteria. So it can be concluded that bibliotherapy can improve the honest character of elementary students in SDN Kananga.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by low reading comprehension ability of grade V SDN Gudangkopi II. The purpose of this research is to know the process and result of reading comprehension skill by using Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy. The method used is PTK. he research design used refers to the Kemmis and MC.Taggart models, which are spiral models that begin with: 1) planning; 2) the implementation of the action; 3) observation; 4) reflection. The subjects of the study were the students of class V SDN Gudang Kopi II which amounted to 16 people, consisting of 6 women and 10 men, Based on the results of research cycle I obtained data that students complete the study amounted to 5 students or reached 31.25%, in cycle II increased to 10 students or reached 75%, in the third cycle increased to 16 students or reached 100% that exceed the value of KKM. Based on these results can be proven that the strategy of Directed Reading Thingking Activity (DRTA) can improve reading comprehension skills in grade V SDN Gudangkopi II. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN Gudangkopi II.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahuai proses dan hasil keteramptilan membaca pemahaman dengan menggunakan strategi Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA). Metode yang digunakan yaitu PTK. Desain penelitian yang digunakan mengacu kepada model Kemmis dan MC.Taggart, yaitu model spiral yang dimulai dengan: 1) perencanaan; 2) pelaksanaan tindakan; 3) pengamatan; 4) refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SDN Gudangkopi II yang berjumlah 16 orang, terdiri dari 6 orang perempuan dan 10 orang laki-laki. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian siklus I diperoleh data bahwa siwa yang tuntas belajar berjumlah 5 orang siswa atau nencapai 31,25%, pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 10 siswa atau mencapai 75%, pada siklus III menigkat menjadi 16 siswa atau mencapai 100% yang memenuhi atau melampaui nilai KKM. Berdasarkan hasill tersebut dapat dibuktikan bahwa strategi Directed Reading Thingking Activity (DRTA) dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas V SDN Gudangkopi II. Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of observations which show that the activities and writing skills of narrative essays by Grade IV students of Santaka Elementary School Cimanggung District, Sumedang Regency are still low. This is indicated by the low understanding of students in learning narrative essay writing skills and student activities that are classified as passive during learning. The purpose of this research is to improve the activities and writing skills of students' narrative essays by applying the Concept Sentence learning model. The research method used is PTK with Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. This research consisted of two cycles with 23 students. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that the increase in student activity is seen from the average pre-cycle learning outcomes reaching 39%, then increasing in the first cycle after using the Concept Sentence model with an average of 70% and the second cycle reaching 83%. This shows an increase in student activity in learning to write narrative essays. The narrative essay writing skills in the initial conditions reached 26%, then increased in the first cycle with an average of 65% and in the second cycle reached 87%. This shows that the students' narrative essay writing skills have increased in each cycle with the application of the Concept Sentence model.

Abstract

This study aims to describe language errors (phonological, morphological, syntactic, semantic, and spelling errors) in narrative essays in class V students of SDN Margacinta, South Sumedang District. To achieve these objectives a descriptive qualitative study was carried out with steps: collecting student language error data and analyzing language errors. The research subjects were fifth grade students of Margacinta Elementary School in South Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency. The results of the study showed that there were language errors in students' narrative essays which included errors in the fields of phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and spelling. Phonological errors were 23 (26.74%), morphological errors were 7 (8.13%), syntactic errors were 16 (18.60%), semantic errors were 13 (15.11%), and spelling errors were 27 ( 31.39%). The most common error in the narrative essay is that the spelling error was 27 (31.39%) while the least common type of error was errors in the morphology field of 7 (8.13%) errors. Spelling mistakes that often appear are errors in capital letters, mistakes in writing prepositions, errors in the use of punctuation, and errors in writing words that are not in accordance with the rules of the correct language.
