Abstract

The dragonfly (Odonata) is a flying insect that plays an important role in the food chain and acts as a bioindicator of water health. This is due to its biological characteristics which include spending most of its life stages in the water and preying on smaller insects. This study is aimed to investigate the level of dragonfly diversity in Cibodas Botanical Garden, West Java. The method used in this research was direct observation using catch and release technique. The research was carried out from May to July 2018. A total of 1,510 individuals belonging to eight dragonfly species were found in the four sampling locations. These were divided into two Sub-Orders: 1) Anisoptera (Orthetrum pruinosum, Pantala flavences, Orthetrum sabina, Neurothemis fluctuans, Neurothemis terminata, and Orthetrum glaucum); and 2) Zygoptera (Ischnura senegalensis, dan Ceoliccia membranipes). The highest values of species diversity index (H') and evenness index (E) were found in Ciismun Waterfall (1,45 and 0,88, respectively). The dominance index (D) in the four sampling sites ranged between 0.25 - 0.32. The highest species richness index (R) was found in Sakura Garden (0,99).

Abstract

The service activities carried is training in making flipbook media for teachers in Muhammadiyah High Schools at DKI Jakarta. The partners of the service activities is Dikdasmen PWM DKI Jakarta. Based on the survey, interviews with the vice headmaster and the Secretary of the Primary and Secondary Education that there had never been a learning media training, especially flipbook and as many as 75% of teachers had never used flipbook media in learning. Based on these problems, the service activities offered offer comprehensive training starting from an understanding of media literacy, the importance of learning media, providing material about flipbook media, how to make flipbook media in accordance with the steps described and how to use flipbook media in learning. The service activity was held in January 2019. The target of the service activities was in the form of services and publications. The service coverage is in the form of material exposure regarding through flipbook media creation training. The steps taken in this service activity are : 1) Explained of material about media literacy, 2) Explained of material about learning media, 3) Explained of material about flipbook media, 4) Making flipbook media, 5) Application of flipbook media.

Abstract

The presence of birds of prey at the ecosystems in Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park (TNGGP) is very important as the top predator that helps stabilizing the pyramid or food chain. This study purpose to examine the diversity of raptors at Tegallega Resort in TNGGP. Fieldwork had been conducted from June 2021 to Maret 2022 and Oktober 2022 at this resort. Data collection used 1 km line transect where the point counts applied. Three line transects with 1 km in between distance were visited 11 times during the field data collection. The result shows that Tegallega Resort has five raptor species: crested serpent-eagle Spilornis cheela, changeable hawk-eagle Nisaetus limnaeetus, javan hawk-eagle N. bartelsi, Eurasian sparrowhawk Accipiter nisus, and barn owl Tyto alba. The eagles and hawk are protected by Indonesian regulations, while the owl is least concern species according to IUCN Redlist. When found the eagles flies in circles (soaring) with a sound when the weather is sunny and hot.
