Abstract

Soil quality test is needed to find out the influence of landuse change due to soil quality dan characteristics. This research aims to comparing various land use that influence the physical, chemical and biological soil on Andisol and Inceptisol, obtain information of soil quality at various land uses on Andisol and Inceptisol, and study the relationship between soil quality and erosion at various land use The study was conducted in Sub Sub watershed Hulu Cimanuk with an area of 16.171 hectares. The study was conducted on four different types of land use namely forest land, agriculture land, tea garden and mixed garden. The study was conducted with survey methods, descriptive and comparative. Erosion calculation using the RUSLE formula.Analysis of soil quality is calculated based on criteria Mausbach & Seybold (1998) and modified in accordance with the conditions of the study area. The results showed that each land use has a different effect on soils quality nor with erosion. Soil quality on forest land has higher value than other land use and erosion that occurs most low at 0.2 tonnes / ha / year. The use of dry land has the lowest value of soil erosion begitupula highest of 387 tonnes / ha / year.Key words: erosion, landuse change, soil quality, and watershed.

Abstract

Rice is one of the staples of Indonesian society. Development of rice cultivation can be carried out on Inceptisol soils. This land has a wide distribution of around 70.52 million, but it has an unfavorable fertility rate so fertilization is needed in order to increase fertility and yield of lowland rice. This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of liquid organic fertilizer and N, P, K fertilizer on C-Organic, N-Total, N uptake and Yield (Oryza Sativa L.) on Inceptisol from Jatinangor. The experiment was held on March 2019 until July 2019 at Ciparanje Experimental Field and Laboratory Soil Chemistry and Plant Nutrition, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjran University, Jatinangor, Sumedang. The experimental design was Randomized Block Design with ten treatments and three replications. The result of study showed that the combination of liquid organic fertilizer and N, P, K is affected on organic C, total N, N uptake and rice yield. The application of one liquid organik fertilizer and ¾ N, P, K gave the best rice yield of 8,55 kg/plot or equal to 6,84 ton/ha.

Abstract

Organic matter and inorganic fertilizer application are important to maintain the existence of potential microbes in the rhizosphere and maintain the soil quality. A greenhouse experiment has been carried out to determine the effect of  vermicompost and NPK fertilizer on total bacterial and Azotobacter  population in rhizosphere and yield of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) grown in soil order of  Inceptisols. The experimental design was a factorial randomized complete block design with three replicates were tested three doses of vermicompost (7.5, 15 and 22.5 t ha-1) and four doses of inorganic fertilizers; NPK (300; 450; 600 and 750 kg ha-1). The results showed that there was no significant interaction between vermicompost and NPK fertilizer on either total bacterial or Azotobacter population, as well as on fresh weight of lettuce. Both vermicompost and NPK fertilizer did not affect the biological parameters. However, the application of 750 kg/ha NPK fertilizer can increased lettuce weight up to 24% compared to that of control. This study suggested that in the relatively poor soil nutrients, lettuce growth was depend on inorganic fertilizers.
