Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) juga dapat mengakibatkan resiko gangguan kognitif melalui gangguan pada pembuluh darah termasuk diantaranya pembuluh darah di otak. Tingginya kadar glukosa dalam darah penderita diabetes mellitus (DM) akan mempengaruhi fungsi kognitif penderita. Kadar gula darah normal pada saat puasa pada umumnya di kisaran <126 mg/ dl, sedangkan pada saat tidak puasa di kisaran <200 mg/dl. Kadar glukosa darah dapat diuji dengan menggunakan glucometer hingga menggunakan metode cross sectional. Serum Separator Tube (SST) ditandai dengan tabung berwarna kuning berisi gel separator yang berfungsi untuk memisahkan serum dan sel darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh waktu penyimpanan serum darah menggunakan SST selama 0 jam, 2 jam, 4 jam, 6 jam dan 8 jam setelah disentrifugasi. Sampel dari penelitian ini merupakan sampel serum darah penderita diabetes mellitus (DM) yang melakukan pemeriksaan di di Laboratorium Klinik RSUP Mataram. Berdasarkan uji statistik diperoleh hasil 95% dengan α 0,05% dan didapatkan hasil pemeriksaan kadar glukosa pada SST tetap stabil.

Abstract

High input of chemical fertilizer causes land degradation on agriculture. This research is experimental which aims to analyze degree of acidity and macro-nutrients in mussel shell, and analyze chemical properties of soil before and after application of mussel shell suplement. The research was conducted during July to September 2020 at BPTP Laboratory, Narmada West Lombok. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that mussel shell (Pilsbryocomcha excilis) had pH and macro-nutrients potential as an ecofertilizer. Soil chemical properties increase after application of mussel shell (Pilsbryocomcha excilis) supplement. Key words: mussel; shell; soil enhancer; suplement

Abstract

Diarrhea is an increased frequency and decreased consistency of stool when compared to normal individuals. Giving chemical medicine which  consumed continuously, can cause negative side effects for the body. So it takes an effort to find sources of anti-diarrheal medicine that minimize side effects to the body. One source of medicine that can reduce side effects on the body is traditional medicine from local plants. One of the efforts to find a new source of anti-diarrheal medicine is to use tamarind leaves (Tamarindus indica L.) which will be developed into an anti-diarrheal bioagent. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of giving water extract of tamarind leaves (Tamarindus indica L.) fresh old leaves and young leaves to the experimental male Mus musculuus diarrhea positive. This research used three stages of research, namely the preparation of fresh old leaves and young leaves tamarind (Tamarindicus indica L.) leaf water extract, extract testing using 1% FeCl3 and UV-VIS spectrophotometer and testing using male Mus muscullus experimental animals. The results of this study indicate that the tannin content contained in the water extract of tamarind leaves (Tamarindus indica L.) is higher based on testing using 1% FeCl3 and UV-VIS septrophotometer and is more effective in overcoming diarrhea in experimental animals Mus muscullus based on changes in fecal consistency animal try to the Mus muscullus.  Key words: diarrhea; tannins; tamarind; water extract

Abstract

Degradation of soil quality caused by the use of chemical fertilizers is a serious problem in agriculture. The use of environmentally friendly fertilizers is an important step to increase soil quality. One of them is by utilizing chicken eggshell waste as organic fertilizer. This study aims to utilize chicken eggshells with the right dose to improve soil quality. This research is a quantitative study using a completely randomized design. The results showed that the eggshell waste had the potential as an organic fertilizer to improve soil chemistry. Application of 6.25 gram egg shell/planting-hole can increase soil pH, C-Organic and N-total levels.

Abstract

Disability is one of the most attention-catching infections (neglected diseases) which didn’t cause a lot of casualties and not a sudden outbreak but it can result in a slow death by slowly roasting the body’s healthy organs until it causes permanent and lowers child intelligence. This research was to compare the prevalence of worm infection of class Soil-Transmitted Helminths on elementary school students or madrasah ibtidaiyah students in the village Abian Tubuh Baru sub-district Sandubaya in 2008 and checking out the number of cases of worm infections according to this type of worm. The methods of research used in this study is observational descriptive methods and microscopic methods to use a microscope to identify a type of worm from stool sample drawn from students on elementary school/madrasah ibtidaiyah in Abian Tubuh Baru village. The result of that feces examination indicates that there are three kinds of worms are ringworm (Ascaris lumbricoides), whipworm (Tricuris trichiura), and hookworm (Ancylostoma duodenale dan Necator americanus). The most numerous types of worms found are these Ascaris lumbricoides as big as 75,67%.

Abstract

Fusarium sp is a fungal pathogen that can infect plants with a wide host range. Fusarium question is a type of pathogen from a group of fungi that has a high level of virulence so that it can cause high damage to plants. Biological control of soil-borne diseases by utilizing extracts from plants as an alternative barrier to avoid the use of synthetic chemicals. Plants used as control or inhibitors of the growth of the fungus Fusarium sp., have compounds in the form of triterpenoids, flavonoids, tannins, essential oils, and allelopathic compounds that are released to inhibit the growth of pathogens. This research is descriptive using the literature study method to find out the potential of plant extracts that have inhibitory power on the growth of the fungus Fusarium sp. The results of the potential study of this plant extract showed that the ethanolic extract of Clitoria ternatea L. had an effect on inhibiting the growth of the fungus Fusarium sp.

Abstract

Dendrobium Sp is one type of orchid plant with the most popular species both among cultivators and entrepreneurs of orchid growers. Dendrobium Sp has flowers with basic colors that have been found, namely white, purple, red, yellow, blue, brown, and a combination of these basic colors. This research was carried out by adding a supplement drink to the basic media which showed good orchid growth, using the M-150 supplement with a concentration of 25 ml added to Vacin and Went media which gave good results on rooted palntlets and number of roots. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments, the treatments were repeated 5 times so that there were 20 treatment bottles (each bottle contains one plant). Observational data were analyzed using the Analysis of Variance at the 5% level

Abstract

Durian adalah buah yang banyak tumbuh di Indonesia. Biji durian adalah limbah yang belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal dan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku pembuatan bioetanol. Bioetanol merupakan salah satu jenis biofuel (bahan bakar cair dari pengolahan tumbuhan) disamping biodisel. Proses pembuatan bioetanol dilakukan dengan proses fermentasi dengan bantuan Saccaromices serevisiae. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pH dan jenis sampel yang paling berpengaruh pada proses pembuatan bioetanol. Penelitian dilakukan dengan sampel biji durian basah dan kering yang dihidrolisis dengan H2SO42,5% selama 3 jam pada suhu 70oC, kemudian diukur kadar glukosa reduksinya dan difermentasi dengan variasi pH (3, 4, 5, dan 6) selama 48 jam. Larutan fermentasi dimurnikan dengan destilasi dan diukur kadar etanol yang dihasilkan dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis dengan λ 214 nm. Etanol dengan kadar 47,02% didapatkan dari sampel kering dengan pH 4

Abstract

Masyarakat di Nusa Tenggara Barat memanfaatkan daun asam jawa (Tamarindus indica L.) sebagai bahan baku pembuatan masakan tradisional. Masakan tradisional menggunakan daun asam jawa yang masih muda. Daun asam jawa yang sudah tua tidak termanfaatkan hanya dibiarkan mengering dan jatuh menjadi sampah (limbah). Penelitian yang dilakukan Fidrianny et al, 2014 menemukan adanya senyawa antioksidan dari ekstrak n-heksana daun asan jawa. Ekstrak daun asam jawa memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat dibutuhkan oleh tubuh untuk mencegah terjadinya stress oksidatif. Stress oksidatif sangat berperan penting dalam patofisiologi terjadinya proses penuaan. antioksidan dapat melawan radikal bebas yang terdapat di dalam tubuh yang didapat dari hasil metabolisme tubuh, polusi udara, sinar UV dan sebagainya. Berdasarkan sumberny antioksidan dibagi menjadi antioksidan endogen dan eksogen. Antioksidan endogen adalah enzim-enzim yang bersifat antioksidan seperti Superoksid Dismutase (SOD), katalase (Cat), dan glutathion peroksidase (Gpx), sedangkan antioksidan eksogen adalah antioksdan yang diperoleh dari luar tubuh. Oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan inovasi untuk mengembangkan daun asam yg sudah tua menjadi sesuatu yang bermanfaat dan bernilai jual tinggi, salah satunya adalah membuat produk dalam bentuk sabun yang mengandung antioksidan alami.

Abstract

Covid-19 is a respiratory tract infection that is transmitted through coughing and sneezing. Covid-19 is characterized by the appearance of flu symptoms, cough, fever, respiratory problems and even death. The community in the Al-Ishlahul Ma'arif Islamic boarding school in Kediri, West Lombok, still looks unfamiliar with wearing masks when inside and outside the cottage environment. The purpose of this community service is to empower the community in using masks and implementing a clean and healthy lifestyle. The service method is in the form of donations of masks, vitamins and disinfectants as well as presentation on how to use them orally in addition to providing information related to clean and healthy living behavior in an effort to prevent COVID-19. The results obtained are that all residents of the cottage have received masks, vitamins, and disinfectants. In addition, all residents of the cottage get useful information related to clean and healthy living. Thus, the community in the Al-Ishlahul Ma'arif Islamic boarding school in Kediri, West Lombok, can finally consume vitamins, use masks, use disinfectants, and apply clean and healthy living behaviors
