Abstract

The development is the product of the process of biological, cognitive, and sosioemosional, which are often intertwined. Development of the period include infants, children of early, middle and late, teen, and adult beginning. Jean Piaget's theory of cognitive development of children which involves important processes: schemes, assimilation, accommodation, organization, ekuilibrasi. In theory, of cognitive development occurs in the sequence of the four stages, namely remote motor (from birth up to the age of 2 years), pre-operational (3-7 years), concrete operational (7-11 years), and formal operational (11-15 years). At each stage of the qualitative progress. On the other hand, Lev Vygotsky suggested theories about the development of cognitive. Vygotsky stressed that cognitive skills need to be interpreted in developmental,mediated by language, and have the origins of social relations and culture. Theory of cognitive development Bruner stated a person characterized by increasing variation in the response to the stimulus. Where a person's cognitive development evolved from the enaktif to the iconic stage and ultimately to the symbolic. Related to this, Chomsky stated that the language was a form of communication, whether it be oral,written or sign, which is based on a system of symbols. Biologically, the children prepared to learn a language when they interact with their environment. As for the mastery of the language will experience a development in line with the development ofthe individual itself is influenced by biological factors and environmental factors.Keywords: Children's Language Development, Psychology, Learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kebiasaan mahasiswa dalam mendengarkan percakapan dalam Bahasa Inggris dan penguasaan kosakata pada mahasiswa semester 2 (dua) Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris FKIP Universitas Batanghari tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 2 (dua) Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris FKIP, Universitas Batanghari tahun ajaran 2015/2016 yang diambil keseluruhan yakni berjumlah 59 mahasiswa. Untuk mengumpulkan data kebiasaan mendengarkan percakapan dalam bahasa Inggris, peneliti menggunakan angket dan tes penguasaan kosa kata. Peneliti menemukan bahwa skor terendah pada kebiasaan mendengarkan percakapan dalam bahasa inggris adalah 2 jam pada tiap minggunya dan yang tertinggi adalah hingga 5 jam pada tiap minggu. Persentasi kemampuan penguasaan kosakata mahasiswa termasuk dalam kategori bagus adalah sebesar 16% atau sebanyak 10 mahasiswa, menengah sebesar 81% atau sebanyak 48 orang dan rendah sebesar 1% atau hanya sebanyak satu orang mahasiswa. Setelah menemukan skor tiap variable, peneliti menemukan bahwa kalkulasi korelasi antara variable X dan Y dengan menggunakan rumus Spearman Rank dengan nilai R sebesar 0.075 atau dapat dikategorikan kedalam korelasi yang sangat rendah sehingga ditemukan bahwa tidak ada hubungan korelasi yang signifikan yang mana nilai Zhitung = 0.570 karena Ztabel=1.96 dengan level signifikan 5%, artinya Zhitung<Ztabel, maka Ho diterima dan Ha ditolak.Kata Kunci: Listening Habit in English Conversation, Vocabulary Mastery

Abstract

Pronunciation is important in English as communication purpose because, if we mispronounce a word, it will lead into misunderstanding. Pronunciation is how the way we pronounce the word. Unfortunately, some English learners think that basic vocabulary and grammar are enough for communicative with English native speaker, but they are wrong. We need to pronounce well so people can understand what we are talking about. Audio visual media is one of media that can be used as the tool in learning and teaching process, but it is not enough to make the students interest in class, teacher need something special here. One of the way that teacher can use is game. There are so many kinds of games and teacher can combine it with audio visual media. This combination can create an interactive class. This article is about Teaching Pronunciation by Using Games and Audio Visual Media, to know how to used games and audio visual media then combine it in learning. It is important because by using games and audio visual media in fact are able to create fun and relax situation of the students in learning process, the students more able to answer teacher’s questions and more active to give suggestion to the teacher. They will not refuse to read dialogue in front of the class, cheerful, pay attention to the learning, and active during the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

English is one of the most difficult subjects, especially since this subject are presented in every semester in the school whether it is junior or in high school. In addition, this lesson is also considered boring, one of the factors causing it is the process of learning in the classroom that still uses conventional methods of lectures and media, it is better if this lesson is presented in a new form, which is more interesting and raises the passion of learning towards students. One of the emerging technologies today is the android app, almost every student has android with a quota of data package of course, and it allows students to be able to access it anywhere and anytime. One of the applications that exist on android is a language game, or a form of game that directs students in learning English. Teachers can take the advantage of this game's application to intersperse the learning process in the classroom. In addition, the game's application on android is accessible to students anytime and anywhere, so students can learn not only in the classroom but also in outside the classroom, at home, anywhere. In addition to appealing, game applications on android is a form of mobile-based learning implementation that can increase interest and student learning achievements, because indirectly students will be trained through the game they always play in this android app.

Abstract

This article is talking about teaching listening, which always said as the boring class and quite. Here the students always feel difficult before they try. Listening class always identical with listen and mention or fill in the blank or answer the question so must keep silent. The same strategies always be done and finally students spend their time with sleeping in the class. Actually, there are some stratesies for teaching listening cornprehension to develop students' skills; they are Cognitive and Meta cognitire straregies. How we combine it both and use it well so students can develop their listening skills. Here we can make the class more interactive. In listening subject, there are two processes they are bottom up process and top down process. It is needed to get the information from the audio or video that they hear. The students not only hear, fill the blanks, and answer the questions, but they also discuss or debate it in conversation each other or in the group, and teacher also can make the role-play here so make the class more fun and interactive. Everyone will participate in listening class so it is mean develop their skills in hearing, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and speaking. Teacher assess the listening with their application. how good they get the information from the audio or video and can discuss (playing games. debates, or Discussion) it with the other students in class.

Abstract

This article is talking about learning English on speaking subject by using the fairy tales with local wisdom for elementary and high schools’ students. This article aims to identify and describe: first, the implementation of learning English on speaking subject by using the fairy tales with local wisdom that consist of measures of learning, teaching, learning activities, and evaluation and second, the value of local wisdom contained in the fairy tales that used in learning English on speaking subject. The implementation of learning English on speaking subject by using the fairy tales with local wisdom, using a thematic approach which consists of: the creation of attractive atmosphere with musical instruments, the process of extracting the insight students through questions and answers, the telling of fairy tales by teachers with regard domains of storytelling aspect, the telling of fairy tales by students with attention to aspects of storytelling, questions and answers in order to provoke the students to express opinions, inference, evaluation, and follow-up with clarifications and amplifications on the end of the lesson. Learning evaluation conducted by the evaluation process and the evaluation of results. In addition, this article also showed that the value of local wisdom contained in fairy tales are the moral individual, social, and religious. Abstract

Pada dasarnya bimbingan dan konseling juga merupakan upaya bantuan untuk menunjukan perkembangan manusia secara optimal baik secara kelompok maupun idividu sesuia dengan hakekat kemanusiannya dengan berbagai potensi, kelebihan dan kekurangan, kelemahan serta permasalahannya. Penyelanggaraan layanan dan kegiatan bimbingan dan konseling selain dimuati oleh fungsi, didasarkan juga pada prinsip-prinsip bimbingan dan  memenuhi sejumlah asas bimbingan.Pemenuhan atas prinsip-prinsip dan asas-asas itu akan memperlancar pelakasanaan dan lebih menjamin keberhasilan layanan/kegiatan, sedangkan pengingkarannya akan dapat menghambat atau bahkan menggagalkan pelaksanaan serta mengurangi atau mengaburkan hasil layanan kegiatan.Kata Kunci: Bimbingan, Konseling, Prinsip, Asas.

Abstract

This research’s aim is to find out the composition and characteristic of the waste in Bandung, to know the number of recycle waste, to know how the waste management, to know the advantages of waste management, and the factors that cause the waste management succeed at RW 14 Tamansari while at RW 08 did not success. The research method is mixed method qualitative and quantitative, with dominant-less dominant-design. The result of this research shows that the composition and the characteristic of the waste produce is good both at research’s places.  Organic waste is the biggest percentage, the volume of the recycle waste at RW 14 Tamansari is 68% and 32% discard to TPS (temporary waste discard). At RW 08 Cikutra is 4% and 96% discard to TPS (temporary waste discard). The waste management at RW 14 Tamansari is composting the organic waste through Takakura and Biopori; recycle waste through handicraft, urban farming and waste bank. The supported factors to make the waste management succeed at RW 14 are the high societies’ participation, supported facilities, fund, management and rules. At RW 08 Cikutra, the low societies’ participation, unsupported facilities, no fund, and no rules about waste management become the obstacle of the waste management success.Masalah sampah merupakan fenomena sosial yang erat kaitannya dengan lingkungan dan ekonomi, program Bandung Green and Clean adalah gagasan kolaborasi sosial lingkungan pemerintah, perusahaan dan masyarakat. pelaksanaan kegiatan telah berjalan dan selesai sehingga penelitian ini  bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana komposisi dan karakteristik sampah yang ada di Kota Bandung, jumlah volume, sistem pengelolaan, manfaat yang diperoleh serta faktor- faktor yang menyebabkan keberhasilan dan kegegalan pada objek yang diamati. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kombinasi dengan dominant-less dominant design, dimana penelitian kualitatif dominan dan penelitian kuantitatif kurang dominan adapun resmpondennya adalah warga yang mengikuti kegiatan sejumlah 10 KK dengan pengumpulan data melalui survei dengan analsisi berupa deksriptif dengan pengambilan kesimpulan pada triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi dan karakteristik sampah yang dihasilkan pada dua lokasi penelitian, jenis sampah organik merupakan jenis sampah yang memiliki persentase terbesar. Volume sampah yang dapat diolah pada RW 14 Kelurahan Tamansari yaitu sebesar 68% dan 32% sisanya di buang ke TPS. Pada RW 08 Kelurahan Cikutra volume sampah yang dapat diolah yaitu  sebesar 4% dan 96% sisanya di buang ke TPS. Pengelolaan sampah di RW 14 Kelurahan Tamansari meliputi kegiatan pengomposan untuk sampah organik melalui takakura dan biopori, daur ulang sampah anorganik melalui pembuatan kerajinan, urban farming, dan Bank Sampah. Faktor- faktor pendorong terhadap pencapaian keberhasilan pengelolaan sampah di RW 14 Kelurahan Tamansari meliputi tingginya tingkat partisipasi masyarakat, sarana dan prasarana yang mendukung, pendanaan, manajemen serta faktor peraturan yang dibuat dan diberlakukan pada warga  terkait  pengelolaan  sampah.  Di  RW  08  Kelurahan  Cikutra,  rendahnya  tingkat partisipasi warga, kurangnya sarana dan prasarana, tidak adanya sumber dana lain juga tidak adanya peraturan tertulis maupun tidak tertulis terkait pengelolaan sampah menjadi faktor penghambat terhadap keberhasilan pengelolaan sampah di masyarakat.

Abstract

Abstrak: artikel ini menuliskan tentang kebiasaan siswa dalam mendengarkan percakapan dalam bahasa inggris. Bahwasanya kebiasaan siswa dalam mendengarkan percakapan dalam bahasa inggris secara langsung dapat memperkaya pembendaharaan kata-kata bahasa inggris siswa. Siswa yang memiliki kebiasaan mendengarkan percakapan dalam bahasa inggris, secara otomatis pasti ingin mengetahui apa yang sedang mereka dengarkan sehingga siswa akan mencari kata-kata tersebut di dalam kamus beserta dengan artinya. Dengan kata lain, kebiasaan ini sangat menunjang dalam pembelajaran bahasa inggris siswa. Guru dapat menggunakan percakapan dalam bahasa Inggris dikelas dan siswa mencari arti dari kata-kata yang ada dalam percakapan tersebut.Kata kunci: kebiasaan siswa dalam mendengarkan percakapan dalam bahasa Inggris, penguasaan kosa kata.
