Abstract

Mobile usage has become a part of our daily lives. However, many mobile users ignore the existence of app permissions in an app. One of the reasons is the lack of information related to app permissions. If users are not careful, app permissions can be abused by hackers to steal their data such as SMS, photos, microphone access, and GPS. The purpose of this study is to observe the perspective of university students in Batam regarding app permissions as well as to see the consequences of that perspective. The basis of this research is using survey method for 132 social media users and regression. This study proves that mobile users’ information privacy concerns have an influence on the intention to accept app permissions, which means that university students of Batam tend to consider personal information privacy on mobile before accepting app permissions. However, computer anxiety and perceived control do not affect mobile users’ information privacy concerns, which means university students of Batam have neither computer anxiety nor perceived control over personal information privacy on mobile.

Abstract

PT Katindo Utama merupakan perusahaan industri yang terletak di Jl. Brigjen Katamso, Komp. Ruko Fanindo No.10 - 11, Tanjung Uncang, Batu Aji, Batam. PT Katindo Utama sudah berdiri sejak tanggal 6 Maret 2007. Perusahaan PT Katindo Utama menyediakan alat-alat berupa materi konstruksi, perangkat keras, pipa, peralatan, dan persedian pemanas. Agar dapat memperkenalkan perusahaan dengan lebih luas, perusahaan memerlukan katalog dan juga foto produk agar dapat mengenalkan produk yang dimiliki dan juga perusahaan bagi masyarakat. Tujuan utama dari Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah agar dapat menyediakan foto produk yang baru bagi PT. Katindo Utama dan juga pembuatan katalog company profile dibuat dengan tujuan agar dapat mevisualisasikan dan meningkatkan daya tarik perusahaan kepada calon pelanggan dan calon mitra bisnis. Perancangan katalog company profile dan stok foto dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC). Penulis menggunakan aplikasi Adobe Lightroom dan Adobe Photoshop. Untuk katalog company profile dirancang dengan menggunakan aplikasi Adobe Illustrator. Hasil akhir dari perancangan ini berupa stok foto produk dan e-katalog company profile PT. Katindo Utama. Rancangan yang telah diciptakan diharapkan dapat membantu dalam memperkenalkan perusahaan ke masyarakat dan juga media dapat digunakan untuk kepentingan perusahaan.

Abstract

Cancel culture has emerged and often appears on social media and has become a form of social phenomenon. Cancel culture itself has also emerged in Indonesia and is used as a form of protest and ostracism against public figures who commit social deviations on social media. As a country with a large number of digital natives, having an understanding of cancel culture can help us use social media wisely. Therefore, the author designed an infographic in the form of a motion graphic regarding the meaning of cancel culture. This is supported with the findings of the study by (Oktanizar & Kurniawan, 2021), which suggest that motion graphics can be an effective educational tool for promoting the shipping industry. Specifically, the study showed that the use of motion graphics in promoting the industry using the EPIC (Engagement, Persuasion, Information, and Call-to-Action) model resulted in increased awareness and interest in the shipping industry among the participants. This implies that the use of motion graphics in promoting complex topics such as cancel culture can be an effective strategy to engage and inform audiences. Furthermore, the EPIC model used in the study can serve as a useful framework for designing effective motion graphics for educational purposes. The author uses the ADDIE method and Adobe After Effects software in creating the motion graphic. The author then assesses the level of effectiveness in the media using the EPIC rate method. The results obtained from this study is that the motion graphic media uploaded on Youtube and are classified as effective.

Abstract

Cancel culture telah muncul dan seringkali bermunculan di media sosial dan menjadi salah satu bentuk fenomena sosial. Cancel culture sendiri juga telah menanjak di Indonesia dan digunakan sebagai bentuk protes dan pengucilan terhadap figur publik yang melakukan penyimpangan sosial di media sosial. Sebagai negara dengan jumlah digital native yang besar, memiliki pemahaman mengenai cancel culture dapat membantu dalam menggunakan media sosial dengan bijak. Maka dari itu, penulis membuat rancangan terkait infografis dalam bentuk motion graphic mengenai pengertian cancel culture dengan menggunakan metode ADDIE dan software Adobe After Effects. Selanjutnya, penulis akan melaksanakan penilaian terhadap tingkat efektivitas pada media dengan menggunakan metode EPIC rate. Kesimpulan yang diraih menunjukkan bahwasanya media motion graphic telagh diunggah di Youtube dan memiliki penilaian yang tergolong efektif.
