Abstract

The Power of Religious Organization Ideology in Adam Hawa and Tuhan Izinkan Aku Menjadi Pelacur Novels Written by Muhidin M Dahlan With The Relevancy in Literary Criticisim Course Teaching Materials ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan hegemoni ideologi organisasi keagamaan dalam novel Adam Hawa dan Tuhan Izinkan Aku Menjadi Pelacur karya Muhidin M Dahlan (Gus Muh). Hasil identifikasi ini memiliki relevansi dengan Capaian Pembelajaran Mata Kuliah (CPMK) Kritik Sastra. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Analisis menggunakan analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hegemoni ideologi dalam organisasi keluarga dan keagamaan berbentuk patriarki dan materialisme. Oleh karena itu, kedua novel berpotensi sebagai bahan ajar mata kuliah Kritik Sastra pada kompetensi keterampilan umum dan khusus.Kata kunci: Hegemoni, Sastra, Pendidikan ABSTRACTThis research aims to describe ideological hegemony in Adam Hawa and Tuhan Izinkan Aku Menjadi Pelacur written by Muhidin M Dahlan (Gus Muh). The result of the study has relevance with the learning outcomes of the literary criticism course. This research is qualitative with sociology literature approach. Content analysis is used in the analysis. The result of the research shows that the ideological hegemony in family and religious organization are in forms of patriarchy and materialism. It means that these novels are potential in teaching materials for literary criticism course on both specific and general skill competences.Keywords: Hegemony, Literature, Education

Abstract

This current research aims at exploring the teachers communication strategies in online learning context, i.e. synchronous and asynchronous, explaining the challenges and solutions, and finding out the factors influencing. This qualitative research employed observation and interview to collect the data. The participants were two teachers of five grade at one of Bilingual schools in Mojokerto. Source and technique triangulation were carried out to get the validity of the data. In analyzing the data, the researchers displayed the percentage to know the dominant data, then explore the characteristics and interpret the intentions, challenges, solutions, and factors. The findings revealed that translation, praising, code-switching, comprehension check, and other repetition were the most dominant strategy used in synchronous mode. The teachers did not fulfill all components of strategies in explaining the materials in asynchronous mode. The challenges coped by the teachers were not merely due to online classroom; nevertheless, the teachers initiated the solutions. There were four interrelated factors influencing the use of communication strategies. The strategies employed in both synchronous and asynchronous modes were generally to facilitates students in online context. This research suggests that teachers communication strategies are beneficial to encourge students in learning English especially in online context. Some aspects found in this research are further discussed.

Abstract

This study explored the implementation of literacy practice in both face-to-face and online classroom supporting students’ character education and their English competence. It also described the challenges and problems in applying literacy practice in both face-to-face and online classroom. Two teachers from an Islamic privately owned Elementary school were chosen as the participants. Drawing on the observation and interview, it was found that there were two stages of teachers’ literacy practice, i.e. habituation and learning stage in both face-to-face and online classroom. However, the discrepancy existed in habituation stage in online classroom. The strategies in each stage were equipped with islamic literacy recources, approach, activities, and learning cycles. Another finding also unveiled that the teachers encountered challenges related to the transformation of face-to-face to online learning. This research encapsulates that literacy practice is vital for young learners as it promotes students’ character building and English competence.

Abstract

This study aims at investigating children’s language use, factor motivating choosing language for children, and parents’ ideology as an influential factors in choosing a code. This study was conducted in Balongmojo Village. The data were language used by the children and interview result from the parents. The data were taken from 10 children of 5 to 10 years of age. In collecting the data the researcher used observation and interview method. The result of this study showed that the children’s language use and the tendency language chosen in Balongmojo village happens because of some factors covering the parents‘ ideology due to social need and parents‘ low proficiency of using JL and social factors—participants and setting—and attitudes and values as the result of parents‘ ideology. This also means that the parents attempt to find identity in social life.

Abstract

Technology in informal language learning is inevitably in this digital era since it offers opportunities and brings positive impacts on English language learners. Some related studies are concerned with a particular approach. Therefore, this study looks at a broader lens to investigate individuals' differences in developing a second language, and to what extent technology contributes to their second language acquisition by employing the transdisciplinary framework of Douglas Fir Group (2016). This case study involved two participants, and the data was collected through semi-structured interviews. The findings indicate that individual differences in learning English are influenced by social interaction (micro), environment (meso), and belief (macro). Technology is utilized not only as a medium of learning English but also as an identity construction. How ideology and technology are interrelated is further discussed.

Abstract

The emergence of digital media in this decade becomes a trend in teaching English since millennial generations are considered as active users of technology. For this reason, this study aims at investigating the pre-service teachers’ perspective toward the use of digital media in EFL classrooms based on their teaching practice experience. The participants were twenty students of Universitas Islam Majapahit who did a school-based field study program. The researcher gained the data through an opened-ended questionnaire and analyzed qualitatively. The results indicate that digital media is beneficial for both the pre-service teachers and the students. The pre-service teachers' view on the influence of digital media on students’ attitudes and proficiency and the pre-service teachers’ obstacles is further discussed.

Abstract

kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk 1) melakukan bimbingan pengetahuan dan memberikan pemahaman para tutor terkait pentingnya strategi komunikasi dan langkah-langkahnya, 2) memberikan pendampingan saat menerapkan strategi komunikasi untuk menjelaskan materi dalam pembelajaran online. Subjek kegiatan ini adalah delapan (8) tutor bahasa Inggris dari bimbingan belajar Line Course, mojoagung-Jombang-Jawa Timur. Dari hasil kegiatan pelatihan melalui observasi, sebagian besar peserta dengan prosentase 75% bisa memahami dan menerapkan teori dalam memberikan penjelasan materi. Dari bimbingan pelatihan pengetahuan dan pendampingan praktek, semua peserta memberikan penilaian positif dari kegiatan ini.

Abstract

The speed of technology development facilities students in learning English digitally. They could express and use English in informal digital environment through social media and learning English application or resources. Informal Digital Learning of English (IDLE) contributes to students language enhancement. This study is want to dig in about the use of digital learning to informal and independent learning of English. Therefore, this research aims to explore how IDLE activity can engage receptive skills in university students and to explore how IDLE receptive skill activity can develop university students’ receptive skills. This study found that each individul can experience an increase in English receptive skills by going through the stages of learning using social media and English learning applications. IDLE-based learning can be built through the initiative and willingness of each individual, because this learning is not tied to a specific schedule or material to be studied. Each individual can organize and determine how they learn according to their wishes.

Abstract

Pendapat bahwa sajian bahasa yang bermacam-macam bahasa atau menjadikan multi language pada anak usia dini akan mengakibatkan kebingungan bagi anak tidak selalu benar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis berbagai hipotesis pemerolehan bahasa kedua. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui study kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data juga dilakukan dengan teknik simak bebas libat cakap. Subjek penelitian ini adalah anak usia 5,5 tahun. Data penelitian berupa pemerolehan bahasa kedua. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa subjek merasa senang dalam memperoleh sajian beberapa bahasa. Proses mentransfer pemerolehan berbahasa kedua dilakukan melalui beberapa hipotesis pemerolehan bahasa, yaitu hipotesis input, hipotesis mitasi atau meniru dan hipotesis respon fisik secara total. Wujud hasil linguistik berupa kata benda, kata sifat, kata kerja, kata ganti kepemilikan, kata ganti, dan kata tanya.

Abstract

The role of lecturers in designing the teaching materials is very decisive successful learning and learning process through a teaching material. Teaching materials can also be interpreted as any form of materials arranged systematically that allows students to learn independently and are designed according to the applicable curriculum. The teaching material is unique and specific to achieve the learning objectives. Culture is a method for pre-service teachers to transform the results of observation into form and creative teaching material. The problem is appointed how the design of the teaching material through local wisdom as a form of independent curriculum application used by pre service teachers and lecturers in designing learning design that supports the independent freedom curriculum in the digital era. Research is in classroom action research. The research data is a design of teaching material in the form of learning design. The data sources were pre-service teachers who took the Micro Teaching course with 20 pre-service teachers as class of 2019 in academic year 2021/2022. Culture is also considered as a teaching material in the teaching and learning process. The application of E-PUB as the device of teaching material. The data collection technique is observation, documentation, and interview. The research instrument uses two aspects, namely: skill in arranging lesson plan and learning practice. The indicators of success are: (a) material understanding, (b) curriculum understanding, (c) learning practice, and (d) personality. The result of cycle I, 75% in sufficient category so it needs to continue to the next cycle. The result of cycle II is 91,66% is in very good category, 6,67 % is in good category and only one student is in fairly good category that is successful in cycle II in applying E-PUB.
