Abstract

Food security for farm households is strongly influenced by food and non-food production from their farming products. Income farming will not be the same if the land cultivated by farmers is different between mendong farming and rice. This study aims to describe the proportion of food expenditure of mendong and paddy farmers in relation to the proportion of food and non-food expenditure, and analyze the degree of food security of the two households. The research method uses survey techniques, with census sampling of 18 households of mendong farmers and 15 rice farmers in Manonjaya District, Tasikmalaya Regency. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and analysis of the share of Food Expenditures Equation, Energy Consumption Rate and quadrant analysis. The results of the study show that household profile of farmers and rice farmers viewed based on the proportion of food and non-food expenditure shows that the food expenditure of the two households is low, because most of it is used for non-food consumption. The degree of household food security based on Food Expenditures Share and Energy Consumption Rate is in the low category both for mendong farmers and rice farmers because those with food security status are <50%, and none are included in the food insecurity category for both households.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to study the interaction between dose of humic acid and nitrogen fertilizer on the growth and yield of  rice. The experiment was conducted in May until September 2014 in Sukamanah village Cipedes sub-district Tasikmalaya city. A field experiment was done using as split plot design consisted of two factors. The dosage of humic acid were placed as main plot consisted of four levels i.e. 0 kg ha-1, 3 kg ha-1, 4 kg ha-1, and 5 kg ha-1; and the rate of N fertilizer, as subplot, consisted of 4 levels i.e.0 kg N ha-1, 45 kg  N ha-1, 67.5 kg  N ha-1, and 90 kg N ha-1. The variables observed were: (a) the levels of soil organic C before and after treatment, (b) the levels of crop N, and (c) the components of growth and yield. Nitrogen fertilizer efficiency was expressed in terms of  agronomic efficiency of nitrogen (AEN). The results showed that the growth and yield of rice given humic acid was higher than that without humi cacid. The increasing dose of humic acid i.e. 3 kg ha-1, 4 kg ha-1, and 5 kg ha-1 did not have significant effect. A higher response on growth and grain yield was shown at the dose of humic acid 3 kg ha-1. Nitrogen fertilizer gave significant effect on all growth variables and yield of rice. The higher the level of nitrogen fertilizer up to a certain level (i.e. 67.5 kg N ha-1 or equals to 150 kg  Urea ha-1), the higher would be the effect on all growth variables and yield. The increase in weight of grain ha-1 due to the increased level of nitrogen fertilizer compared to those without nitrogen fertilizer (control) were respectively 58.05% at 45 kgha-1 N, 150.54% at 67.5 kg  ha-1 N, and 168.13% at 90 kg ha-1 N. Humic acid increased the efficiency of N fertilizer. The most efficient dose of N fertilizer was 67 kg ha-1, equal to 150 kg ha-1 combined with humic acid 3 kg ha-1. Abstract

Capacity of farmer can not take away from potencial power themselves, such as individual potencial and group potencial.  Individual potencial are such as fisic and intellectual, while group potencial are such as cooperation ability and trust.  Cooperation ability is ability to rule out personal make responsibility and both depend on group degree of various norms and values.  Ability of group is called by social capital.  Method of this research is survei method to the farmer of mendong in Kamulyan Manonjaya Tasikmalaya Regency.  Sample responden was taken by simple random sampling.  Data was analyzed by descriptive and Konkordans Kendal W analysis to know relationship between social capital and sustainability of business.  The result of this research is overall social capital that collaboration network, reciprocity, trust, norm, cooperation value and proactive were included the high category.  Sustainability of mendong farming was seen from ability of production facilities, capital, marketing, organize group and obtain information and technology were include as good enough.  There was correlation between social capital and sustainability of mendong farm. Power of social capital can be done together by power of human resource through education,because it was means of interacting and developed of positive norms was professionalism of mendong farm.

Abstract

The success of farming implemented will not be separated from institutional role of agribusiness. If the role is not yet optimal then commodity agribusiness development will be hampered. This study aims to determine the satisfaction of farmers on the institutional performance of agribusiness mendong. The research was conducted by using survey method in Manonjaya Sub district, Tasikmalaya Regency. The sample used is 25 farmers mendong, sampling using simple random sampling. To know the institutional performance of agribusiness used Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), while to see farmer satisfaction on institutional performance use Consumer Satisfaction Index (CSI). The result of the research shows that for the agribusiness institution performance, the farmers are satisfied with the kiosks of production facilities, collectors / dealers, artisans, farmers, extensionists and universities that perform well in performing the institutional function of agribusiness in Mendong farming. Priority to improve the institutional function lies in the existence of cooperatives, purchase requirements mendong, selling prices mendong, farmers group as a production unit and provider of production facilities and training by information and technology institutions. As for institutional performance shows that institutional agribusiness mendong still need to be improved again in order to be able to face challenge of competition with strengthening of farmer independence through improvement of function farmers group as production unit and procurement of production means so that there is increase of added value and exchange rate from its farming activity by not apart from training application of technological innovation from related institutions.Keywords: Institutional, Agribusiness, Interest, Performance, Satisfaction

Abstract

Pemberdayaan masyarakat tani diperlukan dalam pembangunan pertanian. Salah satu cara untuk mewujudkannya dengan membentuk kelompok tani di pedesaan. Fungsi kelompok tani sebagai (1) Wahana belajar; (2) Wahana Kerja sama; serta (3) Unit produksi berperan penting dalam pembangunan pertanian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran kelompok tani dalam peningkatan produktivitas usahatani padi.  Metode penelitian yang yang digunalan adalah survey terhadap petani anggota Kelompok Tani di Desa Bayuning Kecamatan Kadugede Kabupaten Kuningan dengan teknik pengambilan sampel proportionate random sampling.  Analisis yang digunakan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara peran kelompok dan produktivitas digunakan  Uji Korelasi Konkordansi Rank Kendal W dan Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran kelompok tani memiliki kategori sangat berperan. Produktivitas usahatani padi petani berada pada kategori sedang. Secara simultan terdapat hubungan signifikan antara peran kelompok tani dengan produktivitas usahatani dengan keeratan hubungan  sangat kuat. Secara parsial terdapat hubungan antara peran kelompok tani sebagai wahana belajar, wahana kerja sama maupun unit produksi dengan produktivitas usahatani padi.

Abstract

Usaha dalam bidang pertanian selalu mengandung risiko yang dapat mempengaruhi usaha tersebut. Risiko yang terjadi dalam usahatani padi organik salah satunya risiko produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sumber-sumber risiko produksi, besarnya risiko produksi dilihat dari luas lahan dan lama penerapan pada usahatani padi organik di Desa Jatisari Kecamatan Subang Kabupaten Kuningan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu metode sensus. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah total sampling sebanyak 33 petani padi organik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kawasan pertanian padi organik di Desa Jatisari Kecamatan Subang Kabupaten Kuningan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan Juli 2021 sampai Januari 2022. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah standar deviasi dan koefisien variasi. Terdapat 3 jenis sumber risiko produksi yaitu OPT cuaca dan iklim, dan perlakuan. Secara keseluruhan risiko produksi usahatani padi organik di Desa Jatisari sebesar 69,1 kg (3 %) dari rata-rata produksi, besarnya risiko produksi usahatani padi organik didasarkan pada luas lahan sempit (0,1 Ha), sedang (0,1 – 0,3 Ha) dan luas (0,3 Ha) masing-masing 5 persen, 2 persen dan 1 persen dari produksi rata-rata. Besarnya risiko produksi padi organik berdasarkan lama penerapan dimulai dari tahun 2014 dan 2015, masing-masing 1,7 persen dan 1,7 persen dari rata-rata produksi. Jangka lama penerapan dan luas lahan akan mempengaruhi besarnya risiko produksi.

Abstract

Terpenuhinya pangan bagi setiap masyarakat dengan ketersediaan pangan yang cukup, bermutu, aman, merata dan terjangkau disebut dengan ketahanan pangan. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan pemerintah untuk mencapai ketahanan pangan masyarakat adalah pemberdayaan potensi lokal dengan konsep pemanfaatan lahan marginal dan pekarangan di desa dan di perkotaan. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat Skema Ketahanan Pangan yang dilaksanakan di Desa Kamulyan Kecamatan Manonjaya Kabupaten Tasikmalaya adalah mensosialisasikan cara mengoptimalkan lahan marginal dan pekarangan dengan sistem pertanian terpadu melalui konsep diversifikasi tanaman kepada anggota kelompok tani yang berada di Desa Kamulyan sebagai sasaran kegiatan dalam pemanfaatan potensi lahan tersebut untuk dapat menjadi salah satu sumber penghasil pangan keluarga tani untuk mendatangkan ketahanan pangan keluarga. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan dengan pedekatan ceramah dan diskusi, serta pembuatan demonstrasi plot (demplot) sebagai percontohan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa lahan yang tersedia belum dimanfaatkan secara kontinyu dan maksimal oleh petani hal tersebut disebabkan : (1) pada proses pemeliharaan pada tanaman khususnya pada musim kemarau terdapat kendala yaitu disebabkan karena sulitnya memperoleh air, penggunaan pupuk belum sesuai dengan anjuran, yaitu menggunakan pupuk jika terdapat kelebihan pupuk dari pertanaman di sawah dari tanaman padi atau mendong, (2) input benih masih diperoleh dari pasar untuk komoditas sayuran tertentu, (3) gangguan tanaman oleh ternak unggas (ayam, bebek), karena sistem lepas pada pemeliharaan ternak unggas. Masih diperlukan pendampingan secara berlanjut untuk dapat memanfaatkan potensi lokal secara keseluruhan.
