Abstract

Solving problem solving is difficult for students. Therefore, student-based learning innovations are needed that emphasize the use of contexts and models that can be presented in the form of online learning. This research aims to provide an alternative learning approach that can create student-based learning processes and real-world problems to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of Classroom Action Research (PTK) conducted in three cycles. Each cycle consists of stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data analysis refers to the achievement of problem solving indicators. Viewed from the results of the test answers of research subjects through three stages, namely: data reduction, presentation of data, and withdrawal of conclusions. The results showed that the use of context and models serves to bridge students' understanding of concrete mathematics in the real world with abstract mathematics in the form of numbers and number operations to help solve problems. There are an improvements average score of the math problem-solving ability test on the final test of cycle I, II, and III.

Abstract

Salah saru penyebab rendahnya aktivitas belajar siswa adalah kesulitan dalam memahami materi. Fakta ini diperkuat oleh hasil data siswa kelas IX yang menunjukkan bahwa kurang dari 50% siswa yang mengumpulkan tugas pada setiap kelasnya dan hanya 40% siswa diantaranya yang dapat menguraikan jawaban dengan benar. Kesalahan mereka umumnya terletak pada kesalahan pemahaman konsep saat menggunakan sifat-sifat operasi bilangan berpangkat dan bentuk akar. Begitu pun dengan hasil penilaian harian I yang belum mencapai ketuntasan secara klasikal.  Penelitian tindakan ini dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus yang masing-masingnya terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan pengamatan, refleksi, dan revisi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa Kelas IX-1 MTsN 28 Jakarta. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil observasi aktivitas belajar siswa, hasil angket efektifitas penggunaan video pembelajaran, hasil tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep, dan catatan lapangan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan. Begitu juga dengan prosentase kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa meningkat dari siklus I (45,16%) sampai siklus II (80,65%). Bahkan respon siswa terhadap efektifitas penggunaan video pembelajaran pun meningkat dari siklus I sampai siklus II.hingga 90%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan penggunaan video pembelajaran efektif terhadap peningkatan aktivitas dan kemampuan pemahaman konsep bilangan berpangkat dan bentuk akar pada siswa kelas IX-1 MTsN 28 Jakarta.

Abstract

Kejenuhan siswa dengan tugas kognitif dan situasi pandemi yang mempengaruhi daya dukung belajar merupakan alasan utama menurunnya aktifitas belajar siswa yang berdampak pada rendahnya kreativitas siswa pada kompetensi keterampilan. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan inovasi pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan mengembangkan kreativitas siswa. Etnomatematika merupakan salah satu inovasi pembelajaran yang mengaitkan matematika dengan konteks budaya. Tujuan penelitian ini meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan kreativitas siswa sekaligus mengetahui respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran Etnomatematika pada materi transformasi geometri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi,dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berasal dari siswa kelas IX MTsN 28 Jakarta. Data dikumpulkan dengan tes kinerja, angket, lembar observasi, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa aktifivitas dalam mengumpulkan tugas meningkat dari 37,5% menjadi 87,5%. Begitu pun dengan kehadiran dalam video conference meningkat dari 56,25% menjadi 87,5%, dan kegiatan diskusi serta tanya jawab pun meningkat dari 28,13% menjadi 75% Selain itu, jumlah siswa yang berkembang kemampuan kreativitasnya dalam membuat desain dengan menggunakan transformasi refleksi, rotasi, translasi, dan dilatasi meningkat dari 46,86% menjadi 84,34%. Hasil ini didukung pula oleh peningkatan nilai rata-rata tes secara klasikal dari 62,97 menjadi 77,97. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran Etnomatematika dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan mengembangkan kreativitas siswa dalam pembelajaran transformasi geometri.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe how to apply a numeration-based module to improve mathematics concept mastery in distance learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic at MTsN 20 Jakarta. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted on July 22 to August 12, 2021, for 2 cycles on the concept of Number and Sequence Patterns. Each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Through the research, qualitative data was collected regarding the application of numeracy-based modules using observation, interviews and observational notes, and quantitative data on concept mastery test results. Qualitative data was processed using a four-step qualitative analysis method, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions, while quantitative data is processed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the numeration-based module could be used as a media to improve the mastery of mathematical concepts. Assessment was conducted after using the media obtained an increase in the concept mastery score from an average of 63,90 to 77,19 and the percentage of student completeness from 53,125% to 81,25%. This study recommends to use numeration-based modules as a learning media to improve students' mastery of mathematical concepts.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan cara menerapkan modul berbasis numerasi untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep matematika pada pembelajaran jarak jauh di masa Pandemi Covid 19 MTsN 20 Jakarta. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dilakukan 22 Juli sampai dengan 12 Agustus 2021 sebanyak 2 siklus pada materi Pola Bilangan dan Barisan. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Melalui penelitian dikumpulkan data kualitatif mengenai penerapan modul berbasis numerasi menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan catatan apangan; dan data kuantitatif hasil tes penguasaan konsep. Data kualitatif diolah menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif empat langkah yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penyimpulan; sedangkan data kuantutatuf diolah menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul berbasis numerasi dapat digunakan sebagai mdedia untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penguasaan konsep matematiks. Hasil pengukuran setelah penggunaan media tersebut diperoleh peningkatan skor penguasaan konsep dari nilai rata-rata 63,90 menjadi 77,19 dan prosentase ketuntasan belajar siswa dari 53,125% menjadi 81,25%. Dengan hasil penelitian ini direkomendasikan penggunaan modul berbasis numerasi sebagai media pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penguasaan konsep matematis siswa.

Abstract

As a subject that is considered difficult, it causes some students to be less motivated in learning mathematics. This is marked by a lack of enthusiasm and less active students to take PBM in class. In addition, the lack of problem solving skills makes students only able to solve problems based on the examples given. This is evidenced by the percentage of test scores of students who have not reached the KKM more than 75%. This study aims to determine the improvement of problem solving abilities and students' motivation to learn mathematics with the application of problem solving methods. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) in two cycles consisting of design, activities and observations, reflection, and revision. The research subjects were students of class IX-1 MTsN 28 Jakarta. The data were obtained from the results of student motivation questionnaires, formative test results, and observation sheets for teaching and learning activities. The data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively by using an analytical technique framework consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the average value of students' mathematical problem solving abilities increased from the first cycle of 61.05 to 75.97 in the second cycle. The number of students whose scores are above the KKM also increased from 47.32% in the first cycle to 83.3% in the second cycle. Likewise, the number of motivated students increased for the medium, high, and very high categories from cycle I to cycle II. The conclusion of this study is that problem solving methods can improve motivation and mathematical problem solving abilities of students in class IX-1 MTsN 28 Jakarta.

Abstract

The ability to understand concepts is one of the skills that must be mastered by students in mathematics. However, the ability to understand the concepts of MTsN 28 Jakarta students is still relatively low. The existence of the implementation of PTM Limited (PTMP) resulted in learning only being a process of transferring formulas and uploading assignments. Therefore, we need an innovation that can make learning more meaningful. PMRI can be a solution so that students are involved in learning. To overcome time constraints, PMRI can be implemented with the help of the Learning Management System (LMS) application. The purpose of this study was to find out the application of the PMRI approach assisted by the LMS application in improving the ability to understand the concept of Building Flat Sided Spaces in class VIII-2 students of MTsN 28 Jakarta. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in three cycles. The research subjects observed in the study were 6 students from the upper, middle and lower groups. Data analysis refers to the achievement of indicators of understanding the concept as seen from the results of the research subject's test answers through three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the average test score increased from 69.97 in cycle I, 73.06 in cycle II, and 78.18 in cycle III. Students who reached KKM also experienced an increase, in the final test of cycle I there were 7 people (23.33%), in cycle II it increased to 16 people (50%), and in cycle III again it increased to 23 people (76.67%) . The increase in test scores is also supported by the addition of concept understanding indicator scores. Thus, it can be said that the PMRI approach assisted by the LMS application can improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine students' analytical abilities in the matter of quadratic function graphs as well as learn the learning of quadratic function graphs integrated with Islamic values at MTsN 28 Jakarta. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in 2 cycles on Quadratic Function Graph material. Each process consists of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Through research, qualitative data on mathematics learning integrated with Islamic values were collected using observation techniques, interviews, field notes, and quantitative data analysis ability test results. Qualitative data was processed using a four-step qualitative analysis method: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion, while the quantitative data were processed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the student's analytical abilities on the quadratic function graph material integrated with Islamic values developed well. An analogy between the effects of the x2 coefficient, x coefficient, and constant values on the shape of the graph teaches the material for graphing quadratic functions integrated with Islamic values. Islamic values that appear based on students' analytical abilities on changes in the form of the quadratic function graph are the concepts of faith, lust (desire), and charity (deeds). After learning the quadratic function graph integrated with Islamic values, the measurement results increased the analytical ability score from the average value and the percentage of student learning completeness. With the results of this study, it is recommended that mathematics learning is integrated with Islamic values as a learning approach that can improve students' mathematical analysis abilities.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan analisis siswa pada materi grafik fungsi kuadrat sekaligus mengetahuipembelajaran grafik fungsi kuadrat yang terintegrasi nilai-nilai keislaman di MTsN 28 Jakarta. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus pada materi Grafik Fungsi Kuadrat. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Melalui penelitian dikumpulkan data kualitatif mengenai pembelajaran matematika yang terintegrasi nilai-nilai keislaman menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan catatan lapangan; dan data kuantitatif hasil tes kemampuan analisis. Data kualitatif diolah menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif empat langkah yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penyimpulan; sedangkan data kuantitatif diolah menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan analisis siswa pada materi grafik fungsi kuadrat yang terintegrasi nilai-nilai keislaman berkembang dengan baik. Materi grafik fungsi kuadrat yang terintegrasi dengan nilai-nilai keislaman dibelajarkan dengan menganalogikan antara pengaruh koefisien x2, koefisien x, dan nilai konstanta terhadap bentuk grafik. Nilai-nilai keislaman yang muncul berdasarkan kemampuan analisis siswa pada perubahan bentuk grafik fungsi kuadrat adalah konsep iman, nafsu (keinginan), dan amal (perbuatan). Hasil pengukuran setelah dilakukan pembelajaran grafik fungsi kuadrat yang terintegrasi nilai-nilai keislaman diperoleh peningkatan skor kemampuan analisis dari nilai rata-rata  dan prosentase ketuntasan belajar siswa. Dengan peningkatan nilai rata-rata dan persentase ketuntasan belajar direkomendasikan pembelajaran matematika terintegrasi nilai-nilai keislaman sebagai suatu pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan analisis matematis siswa.
