Abstract

This study aimed to improve final year students of SMP Negeri 1 and SMP Negeri 3 Wates’ interpersonal communication skills through group discussion techniques. Classroom action research was conducted by using Kemmis and Taggart model.. The instrument of data collection used was observation guidelines and interpersonal communication skills’ scale. The results showed that the improvement of interpersonal communication skill of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Wates and SMP Negeri 3 Wates could be done by using group discussion technique. This is evidenced by the increase in the average value of interpersonal communication skills. In the first cycle, the class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Wates increased by 43.8 points, while in the second cycle improved up to 74.7 points. For the class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Wates, the increase in first cycle was 26.5 points, while in the second cycle it was 75.7 points.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the psychometry characteristic of need assessment instrument on the topic of classroom guidance in the social guidance and counseling services for students at SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta. This study was research and development followed Saifuddin Azwar model. Data collection method was a rating scale. Data analysis used content validity which was formulated by Aiken, construct validity used Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and reliability analysis used Alpha Cronbach. The results of this development research were the need assessment instrument on the topic of classroom guidance in social guidance and counseling services for students at SMP N 1 Yogyakarta based on the content validity obtained 0,85, reliability 0,98 and found several new item groups from exploratory factor analysis result. It could be concluded that instrument of need assessment on the topic of social guidance and counseling was feasible to use

Abstract

This study is a descriptive exploratory study. This study was conducted to analyze the guidance and counseling services in the career field that suits with the career needs of senior high school students. There were ten students of grade 12 in one of senior high school who participated in this study. Those students were chosen by using purposive sampling technique. The collection of data in this study was done by using interviews and need assessment instrument to investigate the needs of senior high school students in the field of career. The collected data then were analyzed with a descriptive method and exploratory. The research results show that senior high school students need the classical tutoring and individualized counseling services in the field of career counseling and counseling services, along with the subject of services that are required.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of problem areas for first-year students. The study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive survey types. The number of subjects in this study was 298 of first-year students of the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta determined through simple random sampling technique. Data collection instruments using the Alat Ungkap Masalah UMUM Perguruan Tinggi (AUM UMUM PT), while data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics. The study showed that 15% of first-year students had economic and financial problems, 14% had personal problems, 12% had social relations problems, 12% had physical and health problems, 16% had career and job problems, 9% had time problems free, 7% experienced problems with family relationships, 7% experienced youth problems, 4% experienced religious, value and moral problems, and 4% experienced education and learning problems. The results of the study serve as a basis for formulating guidance and counseling services for the development of potential on first year students in Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta.

Abstract

Generation Z will control 20% of the workplace. Every generation has a different approach to work and the workplace. Z generation needs to have career adaptability to anticipate problems such as worries about not getting a job and a lack of understanding about the desired field of work.  The research aims to explore and create a solid theoretical foundation for designing a career guidance model to increase the adaptability of Generation Z’s career. The research uses library research methods sourced from books and literature on 1) career adaptability, 2) understanding generation Z, 3) counselling guidance models in the revolutionary era 4.0. The comparison between Generation Z characteristics and the dimensions of career adaptability, the primary need of Generation Z is career control. Career guidance services for Generation Z can be in the form of 1) coaching, 2) workshops, 3) inspirational content through social media, 4) internship programs.

Abstract

Students need to be able to achieve optimal self-development so personal guidance delivered through classical guidance needs to be considered. However, the material for classical guidance in the personal field that is by the needs of students and can be used as a reference or basis for guidance and counseling teachers is still limited. This study aims to find the right material according to the students' needs for classical personal guidance. The population in this study amounted to 2635 students with a sample of 347 students from 17 junior high schools. Sampling in this study used a simple random sampling technique with the Slowin formula. The research method used is descriptive quantitative using the INATBKBP questionnaire to collect research data. INATBKBP was developed based on Santrock's theory.The 10 material topics obtained become materials, bases, and references that can be used and developed by guidance and counseling teachers in delivering personal guidance through classical guidance to students. These topics are expected to help students to have more awareness and self-acceptance so that they can develop their potential and achieve optimal self-development.

Abstract

Developing an instrument for the need for academic guidance and counseling topics is a strategic step to support the needs assessment carried out by guidance and counseling teachers and counselors in schools. The development of this instrument had been carried out by Arfalah using exploratory factor analysis. This study aims to analyze the instrument using the Rasch model. The research procedure began with collecting data from two integrated online needs assessments of academic guidance and counseling instruments. The content validity test involved six experts, and the field test involved 111 students from three junior high schools in Yogyakarta. Data were analyzed using Winsteps version 3.73 according to Fisher’s five criteria for a good instrument. The content validity test showed Aiken’s coefficient of 0.71, considered in the high category. Meanwhile, the results of the Rasch test showed the item response model. The analysis also indicated high reliability on both instruments above 0.90 and Cronbach’s alpha value of 0.98. Five items were decided to be maintained based on the misfit test explored. The accuracy and focus of the instruments in revealing the need for academic guidance and counseling topics for high school students indicated a number above 40% and a fairly good level of instrument contamination, which was below 10%.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi layanan bimbingan dan konseling secara online. Metode yang digunakan menggunakan survei, sedangkan teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah accident sampling. Proses analisis data menggunakan metode analisis deksriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru bimbingan dan konseling. Penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa temuan tentang implementasi layanan oleh guru bimbingan dan konseling secara online, yang terdiri dari beberapa aspek, yaitu a) platform yang paling sering digunakan, b) media yang paling sering digunakan, c) teknik penyampaian layanan yang paling banyak digunakan, d), hambatan pelaksanaan, e) perangkat yang banyak digunakan, f) jaringan yang digunakan, serta g) rekomendasi model layanan yang efektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jika layanan bimbingan dan konseling secara daring sudah berjalan dengan baik meskipun penggunaan teknologi oleh guru BK masih perlu ditingkatkan, serta fasilitas seperti device dan jaringan yang lebih mumpuni juga perlu ditingkatkan baik oleh pihak sekolah maupun oleh pemerintah.
