Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of socioeconomic feasibility of the pond cultivation business and formulate a sustainable development policy strategy for the pond cultivation business in the Lawallu village of Barru Regency. who works as a shrimp farmer in Lawallu Village. Analysis of the data used consists of business feasibility analysis (profit analysis, NPV, IRR, Net B / C, BEP), analysis of community social conditions and SWOT analysis.The results showed that the profit analysis was able to produce a large enough value based on the results of that the average net income or the benefits that could be generated from this aquaculture business could reach IDR. 21,165,179 per cycle and IDR. 84,660,714 per year. From the acquisition of each investment analysis shows the analysis of investment criteria obtained NPV values> 0, net B / C> 1 and IRR> of the applicable interest rate (11%), so it can be concluded from the pond cultivation business in Lawallu Village Barru Regency has high feasibility to be developed. From the results of the analysis and discussion of the prospects for developing a pond aquaculture business in Lawallu Village by using a SWOT matrix based on internal and external factors that exist in a traditional pond business there are 9 strategies to be developed.

Abstract

Liukang Tuppabiring is a waters with marine biodiversity potential large enough to be developed and managed sustainably. Utilization around the coral reefs in the waters of the Liukang Tuppabiring sub-district currently tends to lead to destructive use, so it is necessary to take damage prevention measures immediately. The results showed the condition of coral cover in the medium and damaged, while at stations 1,2,3,4,6 (25,47-41.07%), while conditions were good at station 5 (56.20%). The number of individual reef fish is 290 individuals from 46 species of 22 genera 11 families. At the research location also identified one type of protected biota namely Hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata). Coral damage that occurred at 6 observation stations was more caused by the practice of using destructive and environmentally unfriendly fishing equipment such as bombs, trawls, and the use of poisons. The priority strategies undertaken in the management of coral reefs at the study site are 1) Management of environmentally friendly coral reefs where the community as a manager with strong support from the Government; 2) Making clear rules related to utilization in coral reef areas and establishing a POSMAKWAS institution to avoid more severe coral damage; 3) Improve supervision and law enforcement must be firm in relation to the use of fishing gear that can damage coral reef ecosystems.

Abstract

Rabbitfish (Siganus canaliculatus) are found in seagrass beds so that they have the potential to be cultivated in the ecosystem. Cultivation activities require appropriate environmental / land requirements and support to be able to live and develop optimally. This study aims to analyze: (1) Suitability of rabbitfish cultivation land in seagrass ecosystem, (2) The carrying capacity of the land for rabbitfish cultivation in the seagrass ecosystem. This research was carried out in the coastal area of Barru Regency in March-April 2017. This study uses a method with the Remote Sensing Technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) approach. The types of data collected are oceanographic oceanic parameters consisting of physical factors (temperature, depth, current velocity, and turbidity), and chemical factors (salinity, pH and DO). The results of the study showed that the waters area was suitable ± 135.76 ha. Results estimation of the carrying capacity/capacity of the waters for rabbitfish cultivation with an area of about 81.46 ha or around 407,300 cultivation units or 5000 units / ha (assuming 1 unit of cultivation =      2 m2 (0,0002 ha).Keywords: land suitability, rabbitfish, carrying capacity

Abstract

Pantai Barat Propinsi Sulawesi Selatan memiliki potensi yang cukup besar yang ditandai dengan panjang garis pantainya kurang lebih sebesar 155 Km, namun selama ini pemanfaatan wilayah perairan dangkalnya masih sangat terbatas dan belum optimal kuhususnya pada ekosistem padang lamun. Hal ini disebabkan karena terbatasnya data dan informasi tentang kegiatan pemanfaatan yang berpotensi dikembangkan pada ekosistem tersebut. Salah satu diantaranya adalah budidaya ikan baronang. Oleh karena itu diperlukan data dan informasi tentang lokasi yang sesuai untuk kegiatan budidaya ikan baronang dalam rangka memanfaatkan lokasi tersebut secara optimal dan berkelanjutan. Secara umum penelitian bertujuan untuk memberikan mata pencaharian alternative bagi nelayan dan pembudidaya ikan. Secara khusus penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kesesuaian lahan budidaya ikan baronang pada ekosistem padang lamun di Pantai Barat Sulawesi Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan Teknologi Penginderaan Jauh Satelit dan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) untuk memetakan potensi pemanfaatan ekosistem padang lamun untuk budidaya ikan baronang. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi kesesuaian lahan budidaya ikan baronang di Pantai Barat Sulawesi Selatan bahwa luas lokasi yang sesuai di Kabupaten Maros (0 Ha), Pangkep (76,58 Ha), Barru (635,76 Ha) dan Kota Pare-Pare (180,93 Ha).

Abstract

Coastal is the meeting area between land and sea. This study aimed to (1) calculate how much shoreline change in East Sinjai Sub-district (2) analyze the factors that influence changes in the coastline in East Sinjai District (3) formulate strategic directions for shoreline change management in East Sinjai Sub-district. Citra data processing method used Er-Mappaer and Arcgis, and management strategy direction used SWOT analysis. The results of citra interpretation showed that the shoreline change in abrasion was 9.73 Ha and accretion was 20.39 Ha. The factors that caused the changes in the coastline included waves, currents, tides and conditions of the coastal ecosystem in East Sinjai Sub-district. In the coastal management analysis, there were 4 management strategies; determined coastal conservation areas as a measure to control abrasion and sedimentation, developed strategies that referred to ICM (integrated Coastal Management), improved the quality and awareness of human resources on coastal environmental management and law enforcement and institutional strengthening in coastal management. The use of high-resolution citra required further research by adding parameters such as the type of substrate and sedimentation rate. For the government of Sinjai District to conduct a study on mitigation of coastal abrasion and sedimentation disasters.

Abstract

Nelayan cumi-cumi di Kabupaten Pangkep, khususnya di Kecamatan Tupabbiring, Desa Mattirodeceng dan Mattirobone saat ini masih menggunakan metodekompensional yaitu memancing dan mencari lokasi fishing ground dalam kegiatan penangkapannya sehingga hasilnya belum optimal dan sangat tergantung dengan musim. Olehnya itu diperlukan alat bantu penangkapan cumi-cumi yang dapat juga digunakan sebagai tempat memijah dan perlekatan telur. Tujuan kegiatan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mendesain alat bantu “atraktor cumi-cumi” sebagai inovasi baru dalam teknologi penangkapan cumi-cumi; (2). Untuk mengetahui efektivitas alat tersebut sebagai alat bantu dalam mengumpulkan cumi-cumi. Alat ini disamping berfungsi sebagai alat bantu penangkapan yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan cumi-cumi, juga berfungsi sebagai tempat untuk melekatkan telur dan memijah. Dari aspek ekonomi alat ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap peningkatan pendapatan nelayan, sedangkan dari aspek ekologi dapat merestoking bibit cumi-cumi dalam jumlah besar untuk menjaminkeberlanjutan sumberdaya cumi-cumi di laut. Disamping itu, keistimewaan alat ini adalah dapat memperkecil biaya operasi penangkapan dan dapat dioperasikan sepanjang tahun. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah mendesain suatu alat atraktor cumi-cumi yang terbuat dari pipa paralon yang dipadukan dengan jaring (waring) dan kain berwarna hitam dan daun nipah. Perlakuan yang diterapkan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga atraktor yang masing-masing dipasangi 3, 4 dan 5 atap nipah yang digantung dalam atraktor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daya tarik cumi-cumi lebih banyak ditemukan pada atraktor yang didalamnya terpasang 4 atap nipah dan masuk katagori efektif.

Abstract

Fishing is a profession that has long been carried out by humans and is estimated to have been thousands of years old. Sero is one of the many types of fishing gear that is often operated by coastal fishermen, especially in the Palopo City area. Fish, crabs, squids, lobsters, turtles and even estuarine crocodiles are just a few examples of variations in the types of marine life that can be trapped in sero fishing gear. Along with the growth of human population and advances in fishing technology, the level of exploitation is increasing. On the other hand, the carrying capacity of the environment, including fish resources, has limitations. The increasing number of fishing activities accompanied by the reduction of catch targets also causes competition between fishermen to compete for these resources often occurs. These things then motivated the author to conduct a scientific study in the hope that the results of this study can be one of the basis for the preparation of regulations, especially with regard to the use of sero-type fishing gear in Palopo City. The purpose of this research is to examine the existence of sero fishing gear in relation to potential conflicts, business contribution, types of catch, selectivity, and estimated catch to fishing effort. The research method used includes qualitative and quantitative analysis of several respondents who were selected either randomly (purpuse sampling) or based on a commonly used formula. The data obtained from the respondents are based on the results of interviews, both through filling out closed and open questionnaires. In addition to data from interviews, other necessary data are taken from government agencies, the results of previous research by experts, or taken directly at the research location. Based on the results of the study, the potential conflict between the use of sero fishing gear against other fishing gear users only has the potential to use traps, throwing nets, and hand lines. comparison of financing (R/C), and categorized quickly through analysis of return on investment (PP). The types of sero fishing gear caught consisted of 33 species of fish, 7 species of crustaceans, and 1 species of mollusk. The variety of species caught also proves the level of selectivity of fishing gear sero fishermen in Palopo City is categorized as medium based on species diversity analysis (H') and low category based on dominance analysis (D). The results in this study also prove that the level of selectivity of fishing gear sero fishermen in Palopo City is very low even though the level of exploitation of fisheries resources in Palopo City is actually still in the developing stage. Things that can be recommended based on the results of this study are the efficiency of the number of sero fishing gear and the use of mesh sizes as well as increasing efforts to conserve mangroves as a source of primary productivity.

Abstract

Scylla sp (kepiting bakau) adalah komoditas perikanan yang bernilai ekonomis penting yang dalam kehidupannya membutuhkan pakan sebagai sumber energi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian dosis pakan ikan Sapu sapu (Pterygoplichthys spp) yang berbeda pada penggemukan kepiting bakau (Scylla sp). Peneltian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Lapang dan Tambak Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) Makassar, Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan yang dilaksanakan dari bulan September sampai dengan bulan Oktober 2021. Penelitian terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan yakni: Perlakuan A (dosis pakan ikan Sapu sapu 5%), B (10%), C (15%), dan D (20%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sintasan 84%, pertumbuhan bobot bobot mutlak 21,8 g, SGR 1,280 g dan Perubahan kimia tubuh tertinggi 67,89 g diperoleh pada perlakuan D (dosis 20%).

Abstract

Kabupaten Pangkep mempunyai potensi untuk kegiatan usaha tambak garam industri. Usaha garam industri di daerah ini sudah lama dilakukan oleh masyarakat, namun untuk usaha garam industri baru saat ini akan dikembangkan. Permasalahan yang dihadap saat ini adalah masih banyak lahan yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal, mutu garam yang rendah, harga jual rendah serta daya serap pasar kurang, oleh karena itu perlu kajian untuk melihat status keberlajutan usaha garam industri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui status keberlanjutan usaha garam industri di wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Pangkep. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu analisis status keberlanjutan dengan pendekatan “sustainability index of salt” hasil modifikasi dari program analisis Rapfish. untuk mengetahui status keberlanjutan usaha garam industri. Berdasarkan hasil analisis status keberlanjutan dengan pendekatan indeks keberlanjutan menunjukkan bahwa nilai dimensi ekologi  (56,96) dan dimensi  ekonomi (62,92) masing-masing cukup berkelajutan serta dimensi kelembagaan (40,72) masuk dalam kategori kurang berkelanjutan, sedangkan nilai dimensi sosial (84,93) masuk kategori berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Ma'rang sub-district is one of the sub-districts in Pangkajene Islands Regency. This area has mangrove forests that spread along the coast where there are many potential fishery resources, one of which is the mangrove crab (Scylla sp). The people of Ma'rang Subdistrict, especially in the coastal area of Tamangapa Village, generally have professions as fishermen and pond and seaweed farmers who depend on the results of these activities and have recently experienced a decline in production so that they require alternative activities to support the activities that have been carried out so far. one of them is using mangroves for the cultivation of mud crab (Scylla sp). So far, coastal communities in this area have only caught it so that it has the potential to threaten the survival of the mangrove crab (Scylla sp). The purpose of this service is to help facilitate coastal community groups in Ma'rang District through training in the cultivation of mangrove crabs (Scylla sp), so that they can carry out mangrove crab cultivation on an ongoing basis. The method used in the training is a participatory training method, which involves as many partners as possible in the activities of lectures, discussions, and the practice of design and creation of works. The program that has been agreed with business group partners is carried out using the training method for mud crab (Scylla sp) cultivation. The results achieved from the implementation of this service are an increase in the understanding, knowledge and skills of group partners on how to cultivate mud crabs with silvofishery patterns..
