Abstract

The purpose of this study is finding out how the processes and results of using the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) and tutorial methods based on the learning outcomes and the student’s satisfaction level at Calculus 1 class. Data are provided through the competency tests (UK), mid term exam (UTS), and final exam (UAS). The learning outcomes is analyzed using the Kruskall Wallis test and the post hoc test to find out the significant differences in the samples average. The satisfaction level is analyzed by a text mining technique: barplot and wordcloud associated to other dominant words as well as the overall evaluation of the students’s satisfaction level and their suggestion. The learning outcomes analysis shows that the average exam scores of the experimental class is higher than the control class. Mean while the students’ satisfaction level is categorized as satisfied at both of the STAD and tutorial methods. Furthermore this method can be used as an alternative learning method in other subjects which are considered as conceptually heavy.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The variety of cases of dental health that occur in elementary school children makes it difficult to quickly identify the factors that most influence dental health. To find out the dental health factors, a system that is able to provide a visual representation of the results of statistical analysis is needed based on the factors that affect oral health in elementary school children. Health information system analysis is mostly done through statistical data analysis. A total of 54 students were included in this study to determine the characteristics, factors that affect dental health, and the implementation of the application in the form of a prototype. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between children's perceptions and their knowledge of dental health and children's perceptions of dental health behavior. Furthermore, guidance and examples from parents play an important role in improving children's behavior regarding dental health. The t-test shows that male students get more examples and attention from their parents regarding dental health. Meanwhile, female students are more concerned with practicing matters related to dental health. The mobile application provides information on children's dental health statistics for schools and health centers. In addition, the application can also provide an overview of dental health in children.

Abstract

Bioinformatics is a branch in Statistics which is still unpopular among statistics students in Indonesia. Bioinformatics research used microarray technology, because data is available through to microarray experiment on tissue sample at hand. Microarray technology has been widely used to provide data for bioinformatics research, since it was first introduced in late 1990, particularly in life sciences and biotechnology research. The emergence and development of the Covid-19 disease further reinforces the need to understand bioinformatics and its technology. There are two of the most advance platforms in microarray technology, namely, are the Affymetrix GeneChip and Illumina BeadArray.  This paper aims to give an overview about microarray technology on the two platforms and the advantage of using them on bioinformatics research.

Abstract

This research is focused on learning media in the form of asynchronous videos as a learning mitigation effort during the Covid-19 pandemic for Calculus 1 subject. The objectives of this study were tevaluate the learning media provided during the Covid-19 pandemic. The data sources used are primary data from Final Exam (FE) scores before the pandemic (academic year 2018/2019 and 2019/2020) and during the pandemic (academic year 2020/2021), as well as questionnaires distributed to students. The analytical methods used are Kruskal Wallis test, Mann-Whitney test, Importance-performance analysis (IPA), and text mining. The results showed that there were differences in FE scores for each academic year. The highest average and median scores of FE are in the 2020/2021 academic year. This shows that the online learning method through videos in the Calculus I subject for the 2020/2021 academic year has succeeded in increasing scores of FE student. Based on the results of IPA, the average value of the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) is 97.97%, with details of 50% on priority achievement, 33.33% on top priority, and 16.67% on low priority. The results of text mining related to learning media show that the videos provided are easy to understand, interesting, and clear in explaining the material.
