Abstract

ABSTRACT The spread of the Covid-19 virus, which is still worrying in Indonesia, has caused the government to take steps to provide vaccines, to suppress and prevent the negative impacts that arise. Since early 2021, the government has started using the Sinovac vaccine, which is produced by Bio Farma (Bandung, Indonesia), in collaboration with Sinovac Biotech Inc (Beijing, China). However, there was a reaction in the form of issues that discredited the vaccine, especially related to its halalness, and finally, the Indonesian Ulema Council issued a fatwa on the halalness of the vaccine to convince Muslims and other people. The method used for this paper is a content study by conducting a review of several literacies obtained from the main sources of MUI social media accounts. Furthermore, the fatwa on the halalness of vaccines socialized by MUI through various media also received responses from readers. At the MUI website address, the news about the halalness of the Sinovac vaccine received 10.7 k views and 1.9 k shares. Through Kompas TV media which was uploaded to the youtube channel, the news was watched 27.179 thousand times, got 193 likes, 10.8 million subscribers, and 228 comments. On CNN Indonesia the news was also watched 76,169 times, with 649 likes, 8.7 million subscribers, and 1,049 comments. Support for the video was also uploaded by LPPOM MUI which was divided into 2 episodes. Episode 1 was watched 14 times with 3.92 thousand subscribers and episode 2 was watched 15 times with 3.92 thousand subscribers. On the Facebook account, the news got 15 likes, 18 comments, and was shared 32 times, while on the Twitter account the news got 22 answers, 92 likes, and 5o retweets. The news has been retweeted 43 times for the android version, getting 7 quotes and 92 likes. Another strategy is to use the role of the da'i in the regions and give an example directly to the public by making Mr. President Joko Widodo the first person to be given the Sinovac vaccine. Keywords: Halal Vaccine. Abstract

AbstractThe era of new media affects fundamental changes in all aspects of human life as well as being a human need, both individually and in social relations, and fundamental changes in the social, political, economic, and cultural fields. Moreover, there are fundamental changes in aspects of religious thought, fatwas, and practice, as well as the relationships established on the basis of religious norms. Following the observations of Teusner and Cambell, this trend is both a challenge and a hope for religions. The use of modern technology and media has opened the door to new and creative thinking about how to organize and plan a political movement and social revolution that is rapidly gaining global influence. Very important changes in the religious aspect, among others, are the shift in religious authority and the patterns of relationships between followers and religious figures or leaders who become role models in everyday life. So far, religious authority only belongs to the ulama, murshid, religious teachers or ustad. Religious authority is also in the strong grip of the government through the ministry of religious affairs and non-governmental institutions such as religious mass organizations (ormas). So that religious control is also held by related parties who have full power. So don't be surprised if the influence of social media makes a shift in religious authority in the Post Truth Era which is increasingly rampant. Keywords: Media, Fragmentation, Authority

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe pattern of political communication in this multimedia era has relied heavily on the presence of new internet-based media, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Line Today, etc. Mastery of information technology is part of the emergence of the power of new media, which of course brings a change in society. Anyone, including the new media users, can now also be directly involved in the process. This change in society is what the writer wants to write about because its impact on the pattern of political communication is felt. The interaction between voters and the elected is no longer hampered by distance and time, so the quality of political communication in democracy should be able to improve, this often happens because hoax news is a pleasure for those who read and enjoy any information that is not true. Political communication can run in two directions or even more so that feedback from the public can be directly received. On this basis, the new media has an important significance about current political communication activities. The author conducted a descriptive qualitative analysis by collecting secondary data and information through a literature review. The results of the author's research show that the presence of new media has a significant impact on political activity, especially the process of political communication. The author recommends that political communication activities should be carried out more thorough cyber media, to have a wider impact. Keywords: Public Communication, Hoax, Islamic Politics

Abstract

AbstractThis article discusses how religion has been commodified by a handful of people for their personal and group interests. In Indonesia itself, codification is carried out in the realm of politics and information media. Every general election, political actors compete to present themselves as best as possible in front of the public. The same thing also happened in the media in Indonesia, especially television. Television stations compete with each other in creating and presenting programs related to religious themes. Today, television is not only used as a tool in politics, but also in religion and economy. As one of the countries with the largest Muslim majority population, Indonesia is a profitable field for television stations. Islam is often used as a commercial commodity for reasons of great preference. This is what the author tries to raise in this study. How religion has been used as a profitable commodity to be traded, and used for the benefit of several parties. Keywords: Commodification; Media; Religion; Commercialism.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe advantages of industrial technology have achieved unprecedented efficiency, so that they are able to produce information, communication and transportation tools so cheaply and in such a short time. Too much freedom. One of the products of this transformation is the proliferation of these da'wahtainment programs which essentially combine "Guidance and Spectacle" for the people, as their operational basis for profit through the commodification of religion alone. The use of technology in fulfilling the spiritual needs of the Indonesian people continues to develop its existence as a consequence of the modernization of the times. Da'wahtainment as a model of da'wah on television is one of the colors of the development of da'wah media through the use of technology. As one of the strategic da'wah methods, da'wahtainment is very helpful in the process of spiritual development for some of our society. A dilemma of the da'wahtainment program is when the packaging of the da'wah method with entertainment often invites public perception. Keywords: Existence of Da'wah, TV Industry, Broadcasting and Market Interests

Abstract

AbstractGenerally, scholars state that the law of da'wah is obligatory ('ain or kifayah). The problem is, there are opinions that make science a basic condition for preaching. Preaching must be knowledgeable. If that is the case, then how can a Muslim fulfill his duty of preaching? Does he have to wait to memorize and master the Koran 30 juz and thousands of hadiths? What knowledge and in what degree should a preacher master? This paper will answer by making QS Muhammad [47]: 19 as the object of study. Imam Bukhari cited this verse as the main argument in his Sahih when writing the chapter "al-'science of qabl al-qaul wa al-'amal". With a content analysis approach, QS Muhammad [47]: 19 is viewed from five books of interpretation, representing various schools of thought. In conclusion, there are no objections from the five commentators to make QS Muhammad verse 19 a proof of understanding "knowledge before doing good". In fact, three of them strengthen. Therefore, the thesis "science before da'wah" or the science of the conditions for preaching can be accepted as an understanding of "science before doing charity". Based on QS Muhammad [47]: 19, the most standard (basic) knowledge and material in preaching is about la ilaha illallah (tawhid). This verse is also the basis of the four principles of Islamic da'wah and communication, namely divinity, humanity, noble character, and moderation. This finding provides a new perspective in the interpretation of QS Muhammad [47]: 19,Keywords: Knowledge, Da'wah Principles, QS Muhammad Verse 19

Abstract

ABSTRACT Gender is the differentiation of roles, attributes, traits, attitudes and behaviors that grow and develop in society. And gender roles are divided into productive roles, reproductive roles and social roles. Gender can be defined as the roles formed by the community and the behavior that is embedded through the socialization process related to the gender of women and men. There are biological differences between women and men—but culture interprets these biological differences into a set of social demands about appropriateness of behavior, and in turn rights, resources, and power within each individual. While these demands vary by society, there are some striking similarities. For example, almost all community groups hand over responsibility for child care to women, while military duties are assigned to men. Like race, ethnicity, and class, gender is a social category that largely determines a person's way of life and participation in society and the economy. Not all societies experience discrimination based on race or ethnicity, but all societies experience discrimination based on gender—in the form of inequalities and differences—to varying degrees. It often takes a long time to change this injustice. This atmosphere of injustice can sometimes change drastically because of the policies and socio-economic changes experienced during the Global Propaganda period in Indonesia. Keywords: New Media, Gender Relations, Islamic World

Abstract

AbstractThis paper arises from the background of a problem that is currently happening in all parts of the world, including in Indonesia, where Shia and Sunni always cause political tensions that stem from the different ideological understandings of these two schools. This is what makes the world's media both offline and online take advantage of the contestation that occurs between Shia and Sunnis with the aim of dividing Muslims in the world. Tensions that occur between Shia and Sunnis greatly affect relations between countries, especially between Arab countries such as Iran and Egypt, even in one country there can be conflicts between Shiites and Sunnis, for example the case of Sampang in Indonesia. The purpose of this paper is to describe what factors influence the conflict between Shia and Sunnis, the extent of the contestation between Shias and Sunnis in terms of politics in the Islamic world and the opinions of religious leaders about Shia and Sunni understanding. Keywords: Shia and Sunni
