Abstract

Penelitian ini memberikan penjelasan tentang pengaruh diameter lubang, rasio perforasi dan sambungan antar panel terhadap frekuensi natural dari sebuah panel berlubang ganda. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lanjutan dari penelitian sebelumnya tentang frekuensi natural dari sebuah panel tunggal pejal dan berlubang dimana di dalam penelitian ini digunakan panel ganda. Sebuah panel alumunium berukuran 15 x 15 cm dengan tebal 2 mm digunakan sebagai model dasar panel ganda. Diameter lubang di panel divariasikan mulai 1 sampai 3 mm, rasio perforasi divariasikan mulai 0,5 sampai 2%. Sebagai tambahan, pengaruh sambungan diantara panel ganda juga didiskusikan secara ringkas. Nilai frekuensi natural didapatkan dari simulasi di dalam perangkat lunak Autodesk Inventor mulai frekuensi pertama sampai ke lima. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa frekuensi natural panel berlubang ganda sangat dipengaruhi oleh diameter lubang dan rasio perforasi, sementara sambungan antar kedua panel hanya memberikan sedikit pengaruh kepada nilai frekuensi natural.Kata kunci: Frekuensi natural, panel ganda, panel berlubang.

Abstract

Low-frequency vibration has been troublesome for a mechanical system. Despite the measurement difficulties, low-frequency vibration also creates several environmental effects such as high noise level that is harmful to the human body. One of the methods to reduce vibration is tuning the vibration isolation i.e. spring and damping coefficient. However, the latter method is found to be effective only for the mid-high frequency range. Therefore, this paper proposes an optimization of the spring a.k.a. stiffness coefficient in order to reduce the low-frequency vibration. The Taguchi method is used as an optimization tool since it offers simplicity yet powerful for any field of application, particularly in engineering. Two significant parameters in the spring geometry were selected as the optimization variable in the Taguchi method and evaluated using vibration transmissibility concept. The result shows that the Taguchi method has been successfully obtained the optimum value for the spring geometry purposely to reduce the vibration transmissibility.

Abstract

Statics and frequency analyzes are important because the structure can support the static and dynamic loads. Most previous studies of statics and frequency did not involve the gravity load. The previous studies of gravity effect to the cantilever beam included the hanging, horizontal, and inverted positions. The gravity load direction is applied referred to the longitudinal and lateral beam directions in this study. The closer to the inverted position the smaller the natural frequency. The highest values of the maximum displacement and the maximum Von-Mises stress are happened if longitudinal position is horizontal and lateral orientation angle is 0°. The change of lateral orientation angle does not influence the natural frequency in this condition. Keywords—Cantilever beam, gravity load, natural frequency, orientation angle, statics

Abstract

Modification parts are found in Indonesia, one of which is suspension. This paper proves which after-market suspension has the best performance. These three suspensions were tested with a transient response with a test instrument that has an excitation height of 30 mm with a shaft rotational speed of 322 rpm. The observed responses are displacement and settling time. The test results without the addition of mass obtained a displacement of 25 mm for Aspira, 39 mm for AHM and 39 mm for Combiz. The addition of 30 kg mass resulted in 29 mm for Aspira, 38 mm for AHM and 23 mm for Combiz. Settling time without adding mass 1 s for Aspira and 1.2 s for AHM and 0.9 s for Combiz. With the addition of 30 kg mass obtained settling time of 1.3 s for Aspira, 1 s for AHM and 0.7 s for Combiz.

Abstract

Penerapan redaman arus eddy dan DVA (Dynamic Vibration Absorber) pada sistem getaran utama satu derajat kebebasan dilakukan di penelitian ini. Arus eddy dapat menimbulkan redaman pada sistem. Magnet ditempatkan di massa utama. Pelat konduktor tembaga ditempatkan di massa DVA. Jarak magnet-pelat konduktor dan grade magnet divariasikan. Nilai respons massa utama diukur dengan akselerometer dan diolah pada oscilloscope sehingga diperoleh nilai amplitudo dan RMS. Data respons sistem utama tanpa DVA, dengan DVA tanpa arus eddy dan dengan DVA-arus eddy dibandingkan dan dianalisis. Dari hasil eksperimen, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa respons getaran massa sistem utama semakin rendah jika jarak magnet-pelat semakin dekat dan grade magnet semakin tinggi.

Abstract

This paper presents an on-site investigation of a fuel consumption comparison between a Front Wheel Drive (FWD) and Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) vehicle as those are the two most common drive type used in the commercial vehicle. The study focuses on the fuel consumption rate by comparing the average distance achieved by one liter of fuel using the same type of engine. The road test was varied from the normal highway, uphill, downhill, as well as normal city road to give more insight about the fuel consumption characteristics of each variation. From the results, it is known that each road type gives significant different characteristics to the fuel consumption. Also, the comparison between FWD and RWD regarding fuel consumption gives interesting results for further vehicle transmission developments.
