Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of scientific approach to enhance students science process skills and students scientific attitudes on mixtures separation topic. The method used was quasi experiment by using the matching only pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this reasearch was all of seventh grader students of SMPN 22 Bandarlampung 2016-2017 with class VIIB and VIID as sample. Samples was done by purposive sampling technique. The effectiveness of scientific approach was determined by the enhancement of n-gain value of students science process skills which were tested statistically by using t-test and the enhancement of scientific attitudes. The results showed that implementation of scientific approach was effective to enhance students science process skills and scientific attitudes in the learning of mixtures separation topic.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pendekatan saintifik dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan sikap ilmiah siswa pada materi pemisahan campuran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain the matching only pretest-postest control group design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP N 22 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2016-2017 dengan kelas VIIB dan VIID sebagai sampel. Pengambilan sampel diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling. Efektivitas pendekatan saintifik ditentukan dari peningkatan n-gain keterampilan proses sains siswa yang diuji secara statistik dengan uji t dan peningkatan sikap ilmiah. Abstract

This study aimed to develop and describe the characteristic, the teacher and students responses, constraints and supporting factors on developing interactive e-book based on chemical representation. This study used RD method by Borg Gall which interactive e-book based on chemical representation as research subjects. Based on expert judgment in validity testing, this e-book wasin very high level for content suitability and attractiveness aspect. The teachers responses to those aspects was in very high level. The students responses to attractiveness aspect also in very high level with positive responses from teacher and students. Based on the result, this e-book was valid and feasible to be used.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan, mendeskripsikan karakteristik e-book, respon guru dan siswa terhadap e-book interaktif berbasis representasi kimia, kendala-kendala dan faktor pendukung pengembangan e-book. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan menurut Borg Gall dengan subyek penelitian yaitu e-book interaktif berbasis representasi kimia. Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli terhadap e-book yang dikembangkan, diperoleh kategori sangat tinggi pada aspek kesesuaian isi dengan kurikulum dan aspek kemenarikan. Hasil respon guru terhadap kedua aspek tersebut memiliki kategori sangat tinggi. Hasil respon siswa terhadap aspek kemenarikan dari segi desain, perpaduan warna, gambar, dan animasi juga memiliki kategori sangat tinggi dengan respon positif yang diberikan dari guru dan siswa. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan e-book hasil pengembangan valid dan layak untuk digunakan.Kata Kunci: E-book, larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit, representasi kimia.

The population of this research was all of seventh grade students in odd semester at SMP N 22 Bandarlampung in the academic year 2016-2017 and it was obtained class VIID and VIIB as the samples by purposive sampling. Abstract

This quasi experimental research using the matching only pretest-posttest control group design aimed to describe the effectiveness of Science Process Skills (SPS) oriented students worksheets in increasing students SPS at reaction rate topic. Population in this research was all students of XI IPA at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung in 2016/2017 academic year. The sample were obtained by total sampling technique with XI IPA 1 as an experimental class and XI IPA 2 as a control class. The data analysis techniques used in this research were the calculation of pretest value, posttest value, and n-gain of students SPS. The results revealed that the posttest average value of the students in the experimental class was higher than control class. Moreover, the average of students n-gain in experimental class and control class were 0.53 (medium criteria) and 0.30 (medium criteria), respectively. It can be concluded that the SPS oriented students worksheets were effective to improve students SPS.Penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain the matching only pretest-posttest control group design bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas LKS berorientasi KPS dalam meningkatkan KPS siswa pada materi laju reaksi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA di SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017. Sampel diperoleh dengan teknik sampling total dengan kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan perhitungan nilai pretes, postes, dan n-gain KPS siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata postes kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Selain itu, rata-rata n-gain siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berturut-turut sebesar 0,53 (kriteria sedang) dan 0,30 (kriteria sedang). Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKS berorientasi KPS efektif dalam meningkatkan KPS siswa.Kata kunci: keterampilan proses sains, laju reaksi, LKS

The population of this research was all of seventh grader students of SMPN 22 Bandarlampung and it was obtained class VIIB as experiment class and VIID as control class. The samples were obtained by purposive sampling technique. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to evaluate the concern of prospective chemistry teacher students towards the environment using a questionnaire. green chemistry attitude. The data obtained were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) techniques to determine the contribution of each item, the level of student mastery, and the interrelationship between the dimensions of green chemistry attitudes. The research sample was 200 students who were taken by random sampling technique from the total number of students from the Department of Chemistry Education, FKIP, University of Lampung. The results showed that the 15 statement items in the instrument grouped into 4 factors, namely prevention, design for energy efficiency, safer solvent and auxiliaries, design for degradation. Each statement item and factor have a fairly good validity and reliability in terms of the standard rotated factor loadings and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Furthermore, the mean and grandmean analysis revealed that most of the prospective students for chemistry teacher at FKIP Unila had a positive attitude towards the concept of recycling in chemical processes and the use of solvents that were safe for the environment. Each factor also shows a strong correlation with each other in terms of the Pearson correlation coefficient. Finally, this instrument is highly recommended for further research in revealing teacher candidates' concern for the environment.Keywords green chemistry attitude scale, prospective chemistry teachers, factor analysis.Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kepedulian calon guru kimia terhadap lingkungan dengan menggunakan green chemistry attitude scale. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan teknik exploratory factor analysis (EFA) untuk mengetahui kontribusi tiap butir soal, tingkat ketuntasan siswa, dan keterkaitan antar dimensi sikap green chemistry. Sampel penelitian adalah 200 mahasiswa yang diambil dengan teknik random sampling dari total mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Kimia FKIP Universitas Lampung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 15 item pernyataan dalam instrumen dikelompokkan menjadi 4 faktor yaitu pencegahan, desain untuk efisiensi energi, pelarut dan bahan tambahan yang lebih aman, desain untuk degradasi. Setiap item dan faktor memiliki validitas dan reliabilitas yang cukup baik ditinjau dari standard rotated factor loeading dan koefisien alfa Cronbach. Selanjutnya, analisis mean dan grandmean mengungkapkan bahwa sebagian besar calon guru kimia di FKIP Unila memiliki sikap positif terhadap konsep daur ulang dalam proses kimia dan penggunaan pelarut yang aman bagi lingkungan. Masing-masing faktor juga menunjukkan korelasi yang kuat satu sama lain dilihat dari koefisien korelasi Pearson. Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to evaluate the scientific attitude of prospective science teacher students as well as to validate the scientific attitude assessment instrument that had been developed (Moore and Foy, 1997). This research procedure includes adapting the instrument, analyzing the content validity, delivering the instrument to sample and evaluating the research data. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using factor analysis techniques to determine the contribution of each item, analysis the reliablity and Pearson product moment correlation. The research sample was 525 prospective science teachers who were taken by using random technique at University of Lampung. The results showed that scientific attitude consisted of 4 main factors, namely science is about understanding, explaining, and aiming to help other people's lives better (factor 1), I want to become a scientist (factor 2), the task of a scientist (factor 3), and science is rigid (factor 4). Furthermore, factor 3 and factor 1 as the dominant scientific attitude possessed by students, followed by factor 2 and factor 4. The scientific attitude was dominated by the understanding that science is about understanding and explaining scientific facts and the obligations of a scientist but they themselves do not really want to be a scientist. The structural model was declared valid, and according to the model fit index criteria, chisquare per df, GFI, AGFI, RMR, RMSEA, CFI, NFI, dan IFI with successive values of 1.331 (p more than 0.05) 0.981 0.968 0.022 0.025 0.91, 0.988 0.954 0.937.Keywords: scientific attitude, academic achievement, factor analysisAbstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi sikap ilmiah siswa calon guru IPA serta untuk memvalidasi instrumen penilaian sikap ilmiah yang telah dikembangkan (Moore dan Foy, 1997). Prosedur penelitian ini meliputi mengadaptasi instrumen, menganalisis validitas isi, mendistribusikan instrumen ke sampel dan mengevaluasi data penelitian. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan teknik analisis faktor untuk mengetahui kontribusi masing-masing item, analisis reliabilitas dan korelasi product moment Pearson. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 525 calon guru IPA yang diambil dengan teknik random di Universitas Lampung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap ilmiah yang terdiri dari 4 faktor utama yaitu sains adalah tentang memahami, menjelaskan, dan bertujuan untuk membantu kehidupan orang lain lebih baik (faktor 1), saya ingin menjadi ilmuwan (faktor 2), tugas seorang ilmuwan (faktor 3), dan sains bersifat kaku (faktor 4). Selanjutnya faktor 3 dan faktor 1 sebagai sikap ilmiah dominan yang dimiliki siswa, disusul faktor 2 dan faktor 4. Sikap ilmiah didominasi oleh pemahaman bahwa sains adalah tentang memahami dan menjelaskan fakta ilmiah dan kewajiban seorang ilmuwa tapi mereka sendiri tidak terlalu ingin menjadi ilmuwan. Abstract

Abstract The Use of Molecular Simulation-Assisted Discovery Learning in Improving Science Process Skills. Objectives This study aimed to describe the effectiveness of molecular simulation-assisted discovery learning (MSADL) in improving science process skills (SPS) on chemical equilibrium. Methods This research used the matching-only pretest-postest control group design. The population in this study was all students of XI MIA at MAN 1 Bandar Lampung in 2019/2020. The sample was XI MIA 5 and XI MIA 6 obtained by purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used the t-test. Findings: The results showed the average n-gain of students SPS using MSADL was 0.76 in high criteria, while the average n-gain of students SPS using conventional learning was 0.54 in moderate criteria. The t-test results showed that the average n-gain of students’ SPS using MSADL was higher than students SPS using conventional learning. Conclusion It can be concluded that MSADL is effective in improving students SPS on chemical equilibrium.Keywords Discovery learning, science process skills, chemical equilibrium.Abstrak Penggunaan Model Pembelajaran Discovery Berbantuan Simulasi Molekul dalam Meningkatkan Keterampilan Proses Sains. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa XI MIA MAN 1 Bandar Lampung Tahun 2019/2020 dengan XI MIA 5 dan XI MIA 6 sebagai sampel yang didapatkan dengan teknik purposif. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji-t. Temuan Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata n-gain SPS di kelas MSADL sebesar 0,76 berkriteria tinggi, sedangkan rata-rata n-gain SPS di kelas konvensional sebesar 0,54 berkriteria sedang. Hasil uji-t rata-rata n-gain SPS di kelas MSADL lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas konvensional. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to develop scientific literacy-based cognitive e-assessments on chemical bonds and describe the validity, teacher responses, and student responses to the developed e-assessment. The research design used in this study was a research and development (R and D) design according to Gall, Borg, and Gall (1996). The instruments used in this study were expert validation questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The data obtained from validators, teachers, and students were then analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis method. This scientific literacy-based cognitive e-assessment uses 4 aspects of scientific literacy, namely aspects about the knowledge needed for intelligent participation in science-based social problems, aspects about the ability to think critically about science and dealing with scientific expertise, aspects about understanding science and its applications, and aspects about understanding science and its applications. knowledge of the risks and benefits of science. This e-assessment was created to measure students' scientific literacy. The results of expert validation and teacher responses on aspects of content suitability, construction aspects, and readability aspects indicate a very feasible category. The results of student responses on the construction aspect and the readability aspect showed the criteria were very feasible. Thus, the scientific literacy-based cognitive E-assessment on the chemical bonding material developed can be said to be valid and feasible to use. Keywords cognitive e-assessment, chemical bonding, scientific literacy. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-asesmen kognitif berbasis literasi sains pada materi ikatan kimia dan mendeskripsikan validitas, tanggapan guru, dan tanggapan siswa terhadap e-assesmen yang dikembangkan. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desain penelitian dan pengembangan (R dan D) menurut Gall, Borg, dan Gall (1996). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu angket validasi ahli, angket tanggapan guru, dan angket tanggapan siswa. Data yang diperoleh dari validator, guru, dan siswa yang kemudian dianalisis dengan metode analisis statistik deskriptif. E-asesmen kognitif berbasis literasi sains ini menggunakan 4 aspek literasi sains, yaitu aspek tentang pengetahuan yang dibutuhkan untuk partisipasi cerdas dalam masalah sosial berbasis sains, aspek tentang kemampuan berpikir kritis tentang sains dan menangani keahlian ilmiah, aspek tentang memahami sains dan aplikasinya, dan aspek pengetahuan tentang risiko dan manfaat sains. E-asesmen ini dibuat untuk mengukur literasi sains siswa. Hasil validasi ahli dan tanggapan guru pada aspek kesesuaian isi, aspek konstruksi, dan aspek keterbacaan menunjukkan kategori sangat layak. Hasil tanggapan siswa pada aspek konstruksi dan aspek keterbacaan menunjukkan kriteria sangat layak. Abstract

This study aimed to examine the validity of the Indonesian version of the short attitude toward mathematics inventory (ATMI). The adapted inventory was also used for further analysis to explore mathematics attitude of pre-service chemistry teachers across gender. The original ATMI was translated into Bahasa and distributed to 328 participants via the online survey. After preliminary checking for multivariate outliers, all the data were used to analyze the construct validity of structural model using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Furthermore, multigroup analysis with structured mean modelling was conducted to explore the gender effect toward mathematics attitude. All item means, standard deviations and correlation matrix were also explored. The result found that the short form supported the four-factor solution as the original ATMI. Modification indices, standardized regression weight, and squared multiple correlations were used to determine which items to be removed or retained during analysis until standard criteria for model fit reached. This items deletion produced a shorter version of ATMI (19 items) with fairly good internal consistency, both for all items inventory (α=0.92) or for individual subscale (mean α=0.86). Moreover, the t-test on the latent mean value showed no significant difference of attitude toward mathematics between male and female.
