Abstract

Service infrastructure related to population density and space usage. This is due to the increasingly crowded population can affect the decrease in public spending per capita, so the quality of public services declined. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of settlement density on infrastructures service in Banda Aceh City. The statistical method used is descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis through AMOS software. This research was conducted for three weeks by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents who are head of household domiciled in Banda Aceh City. Based on the result of research, it is found that the density of settlement has negative effect to infrastructure service. This is indicated by the coefficient value of -0,180. The more dense a settlement the infrastructure service in the settlement is less good. The density of settlements negatively affected the use of space with a coefficient value of -0,160. The higher the density of the settlements, the use of space is less good. Spatial use has positive and significant effect on infrastructure service, with coefficient value of 0,471. The better the use of space in a settlement will be better also infrastructure services in the settlement. Improving the quality of infrastructure services due to the use of space is very significant.

Abstract

The rapid area development phenomenon which is not undirected and uncontrolled as well as the rapid population growth becomes the problems related to the spatial utilization. The area requires the proper management both building and environment such as in Simpang Tujuh Ulee Kareng (STUK) Area located in Banda Aceh as economic activity center area both service and trade of Ulee Kareng Community.STUK development due to strategic location, high accessibility and activity actors improvement can impact the traffic problem and unwell informal sector activity affecting the decrease of environment quality from bio-physical and socio-economic aspects if not balanced by the area capacity improvement. This research aims to find out the difference of STUK environment quality between bio-physical and socio-economic aspects according to community and compile the model of STUK Area Development in improving urban environment quality. The advantage of the research is providing the information and input to Banda Aceh Government. The methods used are qualitative and quantitative. The questionnaires were distributed to 100 respondents in obtaining the primary data as well as FGD inviting both community and government elements. The research results that both bio-physical and socio-economic aspects highly affect environment quality decrease in which the traffic affecting 70.41% and legal aspect affecting 57.51%. The results meet ANAVA analysis resulting that the highest average difference of these two aspects is 0.52. FGD implementation results that the community highly supports the management of STUK Area using the proper area development model. The model applied is renewal method using land consolidation system.

Abstract

Green Open Space (RTH) in urban areas has value for the needs and needs of parks and recreation. The allocation of twenty percent of public green open space from the urban area of Sigli City as stipulated in the Pidie Regency Qanun Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Pidie Regency Spatial Plan for 2014-2034 has not yet been achieved. This study aims to examine the factors that influence land acquisition and how land acquisition models are appropriate for public green space in the city of Sigli. This research uses quantitative methods. The data obtained in the form of ordinal data and nominal dichotomos. The data was analyzed by logistic regression methods and Focused Group Discussion (FGD). The model of the logistic regression equation formed is: "Ln" ("p" / "1-p") "= -8,407 + 0,894" "X" _ "1" "+ 2,192" "X" _ "2" "+ 0,346" "X" _ "3" "+ 0.712" "X" _ "4" + "0.144" "X" _ "5" - "1,072" "X" _6- "0.526" "X" _ "7" The results of logistic regression analysis obtained two factors that most influence on land acquisition for green space in the city of Sigli, namely the SKPK (X2) program and local wisdom (X6). Factors influencing the results of the logistic regression analysis are then discussed in the FGD. The FGD came to the conclusion that the land acquisition strategy for green space in the City of Sigli cannot rely solely on the budget on the SKPK program. Land acquisition for green space can also be done using village funds and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.

Abstract

The dynamics of urban development, followed by various opportunities and challenges for different social groups, indicate a growing sense of complexity, unpredictability, and insecurity about cities and emphasis a need to identify new sustainability strategies. This paper aims at predicting the land-use change of urban coastal areas in Banda Aceh and its impact on urban sustainability. It used an urban simulation model using Cellular Automata (CA), integrated into a LanduseSIM platform. There were three main steps as part of the research methodology: (1) preparation of current data on land uses (2015), (2) simulation of data using CA in LanduseSIM software, and (3) visualization of data and result. Accordingly, the final simulation of the year 2030 was completed, in two scenarios, as the basis to evaluate the impact of land-use change on urban sustainability in Banda Aceh. The study has revealed that the current development trend in the coastal area of Banda Aceh is consuming natural resources such as wetlands and vegetation, driven particularly by the planning of urban coastal region as a center of tourism and fishery, complemented by the upcoming Banda Aceh Outer-Ring Road project. The study recommends a reconsideration of the city strategies by decision-makers to achieve sustainability and ensure ecological balance.

Abstract

This article described the spatial and temporal of land surface temperature (LST) patterns in Banda Aceh City, Indonesia, in the context of urban heat island (UHI) phenomenon. Landsat imaginary in 1998 and 2018 was used in this study, which represents the conditions before and after the tsunami. Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) technique were used for data analysis. The 1998 and 2018 LUC maps were derived from remote sensing satellite images using a supervised classification method (maximum likelihood). Both LUC maps contained five categories, namely built-up area, vegetation, water body, vacant land, and wet land. The 1998 LUC map had a kappa coefficient 0.91, while the 2018 LUC map had 0.84. It was found that the built-up area increased by 100%, while the vegetation category fell 50%. The overall mean LST in the study area increased 5.90C between 1998 and 2018, with the highest mean increase in the built-up area category. The study recommends that LST should be taken into consideration in urban planning process to realize sustainable urban development. It also emphasizes the importance of optimizing the availability of green open space to reduce UHI effects and helps in improving the quality of the urban environment.

Abstract

Banda Aceh has nine sub-districts. These sub-districts have different levels of infrastructure growth. This will make it difficult for the government to make policies or decisions to determine a good strategy for developing sub-districts in Banda Aceh City. To make it easier to make a policy in terms of infrastructure development for the sub-district, it is necessary to cluster the area in Banda Aceh City. Regional clustering will group regions with the same level of development. This will make it easier for the government to make a decision. In this study, there were eight infrastructure indices, roads, electricity, water, solid waste, telecommunications, wastewater, drainage, and green open spaces (RTH). From the results of the study, it was found that the discussion of Banda Aceh City can be divided into 3 clusters. The first clustering is a cluster that does not have a prominent advantage over the eight variables but has the lowest variable level in the fields of roads, garbage, and wastewater. The sub-districts included in the first clustering are Kuta Alam District and Syiah Kuala District. The second clustering is clustering which has the highest variables in the field of drainage and roads but has the lowest variables in the fields of green open space and drinking water. The sub-districts included in the second clustering are Baiturrahman District, Banda Raya District, Jaya Baru District, Leung Bata District, and Ulee Kareng District. The third clustering is the cluster that has the highest variables in the field of solid waste, drinking water, wastewater, and green open space but has the lowest variable in the drainage sector. From the results of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), it is found that development priorities are road construction, green open space, electricity, drinking water, telecommunications, wastewater, drainage, and finally solid waste. The results of the SWOT analysis show that the graph is located in the strength and opportunity sections. So the policy taken for the future is the main focus on the construction of infrastructure for solid waste, wastewater, green open space, and telecommunications.

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19), a highly contagious respiratory virus, has spread to more than 200 countries and regions. The high number of Covid-19 cases has led to various regulations regarding social restrictions. Some of the changes that occurred due to the Covid-19 pandemic changed the socio-spatial structure and affected physical and psychological well-being and overall quality of life. The impact of Covid-19 has also occurred in the Summarecon Bekasi settlement, which provides facilities, a commercial center, and various public open spaces that the people of Bekasi City widely use to become more restricted. Researchers used a qualitative approach and descriptive qualitative analysis techniques with interview observations and documentation as the data sources. Research on public open spaces in Summarecon Bekasi, including downtown walk, waterfront, pedestrian paths, and bus stop shuttle bus, shows that these public spaces cannot fulfill all variable indicators of public open space readiness in dealing with post-pandemic conditions Covid-19. The results obtained are based on the weighting of values from the results of observational studies and interviews on each variable indicator of public open spaces. The empirical mean value of public open spaces in Summarecon Bekasi is 89, which is still below the hypothetical mean value of 110 and is at the lower limit of the category 'Not Enough .'Thus, to overcome the condition of public open spaces that are not yet adaptive to Covid-19, a structuring model is designed for public open spaces in Summarecon Bekasi. This structuring model is expected to reduce the percentage probability of social disasters such as the Covid-19 pandemic or other similar things.
