Abstract

A Community service program known as Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) was done from April-July 2019 at Bentian Besar village, Bentian Kutai Barat, Kalimantan Timur. The purpose of the PKM was to empower community, especially Datai lino farmer group in order to enhance their productivity and transfer Science and technology, assisting the member of Datai lino farmer group to do stingless bee culture. In this program, the member of farmer group has obtained a soft skill and an experience in stingless bee culture. Further, this program can empower the member of Datai lino farmer to be an entrepreneurship, providing stingless bee product such as propolis and honey bee which has an economic value. This program was done in two sections, theory and practice with ratio 25%:75%. In theory section, the member of PKM has delivered a presentation regarding stingless bee culture technique. In the practice section, the members of datai lino farmer group directly built stingless bee home base and applied stingless bee culture, including maintenance bee colony and harvest the products. The outcome of the PKM program was soft skill transfer technology, a stingless bee culture module. In the future, this program can be implemented to boost the economic value for the members of Datai lino farmer group in Bentian, Kutai Barat, Kalimantan Timur.

Abstract

Lahung (Durio dulcis Becc.) is a type of endemic durian in Kalimantan which is rarely found and threatened with extinction. This study aims to determine the character of habitat, distribution, character and the influence of physical and chemical factors of habitat. The study used purposive sampling, sampling by survey method (exploration) conducted by combining qualitative methods (semi-structured interviews) and quantitative methods (GPS data collection and biophysical data) and also manufacturing of the herbarium. Data analysis was analyzed by Quantum Gis Software Version 1.7.3. The results showed that durian lava grows in optimal conditions with neutral soil pH (7.8), dry soil moisture (3.2%), air temperature (26.5oC), and air humidity (80%). The durian Lahung has white outer bark with a brownish spot, a brick red center, and a yellowish-white inner part and an oblong leaf shape.

Abstract

The phytochemical, brine shrimp lethality and activity antioxidant test and secondary metabolits of bee pollen have been conducted. The pollen samples are extract with solvent ethanol by masseration method and that is concentrated by using rotary evaporator. The ethanol crude extract obtained are fractioned with solvent ethanol and solvent ethyl acetat. Based on secondary metabolits phytochemical test of bee pollen showed that ethanol crude extract contains alkaloid and fenolik. Ethanol fraction extract contains alkaloid. Ethyl acetat fraction extract contains alkaloid and fenolik. In brine shrimp lethality test, the increase larvae (Artemia salina L.) death and data was yielded recorded then processed using SAS Probit Analysis to determine the lethal concentration 50% (LC50) value. The results of this test obtained data and showed that the most active fraction is ethanol fraction extract with value of LC50 was equel to 249,60 ppm. Keywords: Bee pollen, phytochemical test, brine shrimp lethality test (BSLT).

Abstract

Trigona Incisa honey is flower nectar and pollen are known to have properties that are very good for health used as ingredients or cosmetic. This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolites and determination of antioxidant activity of honey Trigona incisa which is a natural product that is found. Do fractionation using ethanol, n-hexane and ethyl acetate determination of the content of secondary metabolites was conducted using harbone and antioxidant activity was determined by testing against DPPH free radicals by measuring the absorbance of DPPH (diphenyl -1- using 2,2- picrylhidrazyl) at a wavelength of 517 nm. Phytochemical test results to the fraction of ethanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane of Honey Trigona incisa. Showed that the alkaloid compounds, Triterpenoid and Flavonoids present in fractions of ethanol and ethyl acetate fraction. Alkaloid contained in n-hexane fraction. The results showed the ethanol and ethyl acetate fractions thought to contain flavonoid, while the antioxidant activity of the ethyl acetate fraction larger than the fraction of n-hexane and ethanol role in this case amounted to 97.00 ppm, 249 ppm and 233.85 ppm. This shows that the ethyl acetate fraction contains more antioxidant components.
