Abstract

A complex-valued b-metric space is a generalization of a b-metric space in which its b-metric space has complex value. It can also be considered as a generalization of a complex-valued metric space. Hence, fixed point theorems that have been studied in b-metric spaces are now of interest whether the theorems are applicable in complex-valued b-metric spaces. In this paper we have obtained some fixed point theorems in complex-valued b-metric spaces. The theorems are derived from the corresponding theorems in b-metric spaces.

Abstract

Pemerintah Indonesia setiap tahun mengadakan Olimpiade Sains Nasional (OSN).

Abstract

The new nonlinear spectral conjugate descent method is constructed by combining the spectral conjugate gradient method andconjugate descent method. This method generates descent direction dk. Under the strong Wolfe rule this method is globally convergent. This paper analyzed global convergence of this method using the modified Armijo line search. The result shows that the new nonlinearspectral conjugate descent method is globally convergent under the modified Armijo line search.

Abstract

One of the strategies to increase the quality of basic facilities of residential districts based on livable house indicators is to repair the targetted houses using the RTLH (Rumah Tidak Layak Huni) grant. The nominees of the grant have been decided by the village officials subjectively by observing from the data of previous grants. The appropriateness of the nominees, however, must be reconsidered firmly in order to have the program done as purposed. The concept of Mamdani fuzzy logic can be used to determine the appropriateness of the candidates. The method used in this research is quantitative research by using secondary data collected by village officials of Tanjung Glugur. This research has one output variable, the appropriateness of the candidates, and four input variables: residential buildings, water needs, sanitation and waste management, and income. The Fuzzy numbers that are used are triangular and shoulder fuzzy sets, while for the defuzzification four methods are used, which are the Smallest of Maximum (SOM), Mean of Maximum (MOM), Bisector, and Centroid. By analyzing the data result, similar results are obtained from all four methods. There are 57 out of 76 candidates who are stated as successful.

Abstract

Completion of a metric space has been investigated and proved its existence and uniqueness. While a complex valued metric space is considered as a generalization of a metric space, we study the completion properties of complex valued metric spaces. Using redefined definitions of isometry and denseness in complex valued metric spaces which correspond to the definitions in metric spaces, we prove the existence and uniqueness of completion of a complex valued metric space.

Abstract

Doing research and publication in the form of scientific article is not part of teachers’ duties as an educator. Conducting research particularly class action research, however, is a necessity for teachers to solve some problems experienced in class. The needs to publish an article from research result emerges from the importance of sharing research result conducting in class. This research result may solve similar problems happened in other classes and experinced by other teachers. High school mathematics teachers in Kediri city encounter difficulties in transforming research result into a scientific article. This community service program provides a training and accompaniment in writing a scientific article. This program involves some activities, i.e. (1) elucidating the structure of scientific articles and its description, (2) giving examples of scientific articles from research results, (3) practicing in writing scientific article, and (4) presenting article results from practice section. This program is expected to encourage high school mathematics teachers in Kediri city to have a scientific article and to publish the article in seminars or scientific journals.DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/abdimas.v5i2.3820

Abstract

An extension of the metric space in which the distance of the same point is not always zero is called a partial metric space. Orthogonality is the relation of two perpendicular lines at one point of intersection forming a right angle. There are several ways to define orthogonality, including Pythagorean Orthogonality, Isosceles Orthogonality, and Birkhoff-James Orthogonality. The purpose of this research is to study the consistency of the definition of orthogonality in the metric space to the partial metric space. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the partial metric space can be obtained by linear induction from a metric space. Then, in developing the definition of orthogonality to the partial metric space, it can be concluded that the qualified orthogonality is the I-orthogonality and the BJ-orthogonality, while the P-orthogonality does not qualify the consistency of the definition of orthogonality in the partial metric space. Abstract

The conformable fractional derivative has been introduced to extend the familiar limit definition of the classical derivative. Despite having many advantages compared to other fractional derivatives such as satisfying nice properties as classical derivative and easy to solve numerically, it also has disadvantages as it gives large error compared to Riemann-Liouville and Caputo fractional derivatives. Modified types of conformable derivatives have been proposed to overcome the shortcoming. The improved conformal fractional derivatives are declared to be better approximations of Riemann-Liouville and Caputo derivatives in terms of physical behavior. In this paper, properties concerning continuity of the improved conformable fractional derivative are investigated. We prove the relation between -differentiable and continuity of a function and corresponding interior extremum theorem. We also prove the properties close to Rolle’s Theorem and Mean Value Theorem for the improved conformable fractional derivatives.
