Abstract

Musa acuminata paradisiaca is one of banana varieties, has a high demand in East Java thus highly potential to be developed. The highest production sites are located at Malang and Lumajang. Unfortunately, this type of banana are perishable that limited the selling period. An alternative way to solve is via improving the supply chain management. In this research, we developed some supply chain models and evaluate there performance using simulation with Vensim software. We used sales profit, lost sales, oversupply and availability to measure performance of the models, supply chain management at Malang and Lumajang. The results show that supply chain at Lumajang performed better than Malang interms of sales profit, lost sales and availability.

Abstract

PT X is a manufacture company that provides medical facilities for its permanent employee in form of medical benefits. The medical benefits claim proposed by the employees will be processed in PT X’s medical benefits system. The company requires that at least 98% of the claims are processed on the same day as the day those claims are proposed. That requirement can only be fulfilled with overtime work. The average of overtime work per month per admin is 14 hours. The improvement of the efficiency can be done by doing enhancement of the approval and revise processes of the previous medical benefits system. The enhancement is done by creating unique key and barcode for each medical claim, so that each of the new claim form is going to have unique key and barcode. HR admin would be able to do scan barcode process that would accelerate PT X’s medical benefits system. The result of the implementation of this enhancement is the acceleration of medical benefits system of PT X. The implementation results in the decrease of the process time as much as 31% of the prior condition and the investment fund will have returned in less than three months.

Abstract

The need for work in process on PCBA production line can be caused by fluctuating demand for PCBA products. Amount of work in process on production line that company wanted is between 3 up to 7 inventory days. Average current amount of work in process before implementation of proposed improvement is 12.03 inventory days. Root causes anaylise uses root cause tree. There are two proposed improvements, which are improvement on work in process update’s system and improvement on material distribution to every work station. Proposed improvement that can be implemented is improvement on material distribution of every work station. Average amount of work in process after implementation the improvement is 6.72 inventory days.

Abstract

This study was conducted to give the proposed model of humanitarian logistics coordination for the handling of natural disasters in Indonesia by involving the private sector. The private sector, involved in disaster management, is DHL. The analysis techniques used are the competitive profile matrix to evaluate the performance of each agency involved and RASIC analysis to determine the role of each institution in each activity. The results showed that the private sector is still less involved in Indonesia’s disaster management and the role of some institutions in some activity is still not quite right. DHL is proposed to be involved because it has sufficient capacity to be involved in disaster management. Activities that can be roled by DHL are involving in the delivery and distribution of relief and to help receive relief from foreign parties. Activities that need to be changed is the provision of funds, the making standardization relief, and assessment.

Abstract

The quality is an important thing that should be mentioned because related to the customer satisfaction. PT ASKI challenge an enourmous on  painting quality. The average of rejection from the painting process output reached 21,29% in 2014. An improvement of quality should be done to increase the product quality. To solve the quality problem, 8 steps of PDCA (plan-do-check-action) were chosen. The result of  improvement  activities were not always giving a positive result, but still working as the guidence to do the next improvement activity.

Abstract

Regional Minimum Wage (RMW) enhancement in Kab. Bogor is adequately high which in 2013, the RMW increasing 61% from 2012. RMW enhancement which not followed with manpower (MP) efficiency could became a disadvantage for company. The initial condition evaluation indicate the MP efficiency value is 45% and the line efficiency value is 70,5%. Total initial manpower allocation is 8 MP. Improvement executed which consider to customer demand and production capability. Evaluation result indicates there’s unbalance work load distribution of each MP. Improvement planned such as balancing the work load of each MP, machine modification, and re-layout the production area. The implementation based on shoujin principle’s resulted manpower saving from 8 MP to 6 MP, which the MP efficiency value is 53% and the line efficiency value is 85,8%. Standardized work did as well as the control item in order to stabilize the improvement process. The next step is the analysis of production capability to face the increasing of customer demand. This analysis concluded that production needed additional overtime and additional work shift (for November only) in order to fulfill the customer demand.

Abstract

PT. X provides training programs to improve performance of its employees, that implemented by the Technical Training Department. One of the things that support the training program is the training module. Primary Processing training modules are not appropriate anymore with the current situation, therefore the improvements are needed. Training module at Primary Processing, a total of 13 modules are improved based on Best Training Practice (BTP) method. The results of these training module improvements are expected to help the implementation of the training program, so it can be effective and efficient training.

Abstract

This research are to find out how the preferences and perceptions of Surabaya people againts the national tropical fruits and import fruits based on their economic levels and type of fruits that they purchased. Data that got from questionnaire is tested validation and reliability. And then, the analysis continued with Kruskal-Wallis test and Factor Analysis. The result of this research is Surabaya people prefer to buy import fruits than national tropical fruits. Surabaya people perception of the national tropical fruits and import fruits vary by the level of economy and the type of fruits purchased.

Abstract

PT Kembang Bulan merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang farmasi jamu tradisional. Perusahaan memiliki permasalahan pada bagian pengemasan, dimana banyak pekerjaan dilakukan menggunakan tenaga manusia. Perusahaan belum memiliki metode kerja yang standar sehingga perlu dilakukan perbaikan dan standarisasi metode kerja yang lebih baik.Dalam melakukan perbaikan pada bagian pengemasan dilakukan analisa metode kerja menggunakan Peta Tangan Kanan dan Tangan Kiri (PTKTK) serta Ekonomi Gerakan. Analisa yang dilakukan mendapatkan hasil perbaikan berupa perbaikan metode kerja yang lebih baik serta adanya perancangan alat bantu.Hasil pengukuran perbaikan metode kerja pada bagian pengemasan labelling menghasilkan penurunan waktu siklus sebesar 0,23 detik atau 1,08% sedangkan pengemasan dozen sebesar 17,46 detik atau 25,82%.

Abstract

PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia is a fodder company which is located in Surabaya – Mojokerto Street 26 Km, Krian City. This company consists of 4 areas which are feed mill area, raw material area, silo area, and finished good area. The company was in the preparatory stage SMK3 certification .Companies now want to evaluate the system of K3 with HIRARC that is one of the documents supporting SMK3 certification certification. If the company applies HIRARC, the dangerous activities in the company can be detected and the solution can be made immediately. As a result, the number of the accident in the workplace can be minimized. HIRARC method consists of 3 things which are hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control. The data which is processed with HIRARC is got from the interview, observation, and company’s data. The result of health and safety evaluation with HIRARC method through PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia is that there are still many dangerous activities; for example, an activity which has extremely high, high, and normal percentage of risk rating. The percentages of the dangerous activities in silo area are 8,82% in extremely high rate, 14,71% in high rate, and 47,06% in normal rate. On the other hand, the percentage of the dangerous activities in raw material warehouse are 14% in extremely high rate, 35% in high rate and 39% in normal rate. Those dangerous activities must be solved immediately by making risk control. The risk control which is suggested are giving sanctions, making checklist, maintaining the tools, replacing the tools if they are broken, changing the method, and giving training. The potential percentage of the dangerous activities which is expected to decrease in silo area is disappearing the extremely high risk, decreasing the percentage of the high and normal risk to 8,82%, and 23,53%. On the other hand, the potential percentage of dangerous activities which is expected to decrease in raw material warehouse is disappearing the extremely high risk, decreasing the percentage of high and normal risk to15,79% and 21,05%.
