Abstract

One of the issues of corporate refinement is to improve customer service by reducing the loss of shipment goods. This problem is caused by three factors namely the warehouse in Surabaya, transporter, and end customers. During the loading process in warehouses in Surabaya, the loading worker are required to make a report that will highlight the quantity tally. One of the methods used to analyze the problem is the FMEA method. The FMEA method is categorized into three phases, i.e. identification of problems, assessment of the results of identification and determination of repair problems. The results of the FMEA method evaluation will be used as a guide for improvement and are expected to help reduce the frequency of loading of goods caused by warehouses in Surabaya.

Abstract

PT.X is field of industrial equipment, office equipment, automotive, workshop equipment, building, and safety equipment. One of the new products sold by the company is a battery product, which was recently sold in December 2017. The company determined a sales target 0.1% of the market demand, but in fact the company only made 0.0078% of the market. The company aims to set the sales target of battery products by taking into account several factors such as advertising, exhibitions, and number of vehicles. New sales target will be used by the company to measure success rate of the company work program thas has been established.

Abstract

This study is accomplished to indentify the root causes of not accurate line stop data which recorded in daily operator report with the actual condition in assembly process of PT. XYZ. The difference makes PT. XYZ can not do the corrective action on line stop problem. The accuracy of data collection is expected to reduce the loss time that caused by line stop. This study is applied a cause and effect diagram and pareto chart, to describe and prioritize the root cause. The improvement are to apply a timepiece and a working instruction of line stop data collection. The results of improvement’s implementation was positive and line stop data collection becomes more accurate. The total loss time error before improvement is more than 20 minutes, now becomes less than 20 minutes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find the weakness of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system on line assembly, so that it can be fixed properly. TPM system that has been fixed is expected to reduce downtime on line assembly at PT. XYZ. The TPM system will be evaluated both technically and practically. Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) will be used to evaluate the TPM system from a technical point of view, while the fishbone diagram will evaluate it from a practical point of view. Evaluation results will be used to create the new TPM system. Check points that are important but not available yet in the current TPM system will be added. Complaints of worker who related to TPM are also evaluated one by one. Implementation of the new TPM system shows that there is a significant decrease in downtime ratio from 13.08% to 5.74%.

Abstract

This research was conducted to design a database and data visualization from the Jumpstart program at PT. X. Jumpstart is a new employee orientation program at PT. X where workers perform and fill in the content according to the timeline provided by the company. The purpose of this Jumpstart program is to introduce and understand what needs can be given to new employees during the orientation process within the company. The Jumpstart program however has some problems in terms of data processing, has difficulty processing the results of responses that are processed in Google Spreadsheets. This problem can be fixed by designing a database and data visualization that processes data based on the results of these responses. The data processed in the database can be monitored in real-time by the company in accordance with the data of new workers in PT. X, this is to facilitate the flow of coordination between each party in the Jumpstart program and ensure the Jumpstart program runs well. The data that is processed in this database will be displayed in the form of data visualization to make it easier for users to draw conclusions according to the existing results. The results of this database and data visualization can help companies understand the performance of new workers in performing at Jumpstart program and also help users to follow up on areas within the companies' reach.

Abstract

The problem that occurs at PT X is that HL employees have a low output when compared to permanent employees. This can be seen in the results of the Gauge R&R test where the error calue of all divisions is below 85%, where 85% is the company's standard regarding their understanding of how to inspect a product. With the error value that is below the company standard, it is necessary to find the root of the problem using the fishbone method. In determining the main factors causing HL employees to have low output, followed by the FMEA method, in order to see which factors are very influential in causing their low output. After the main factors are known, then proceed with the design of training methods that can solve the problems that occur. The new training method is a training method whose implementation is carried out for 8 days. The purpose of the 9 days training method is for employees to understand what materials they neef to master to become employees who have good productivity.

Abstract

Human resource planning in the company is needed so that the company can prepare workers before starting the production process. Planning errors can cause financial problems, production problems and other problems. This research was conducted due to the difference between planning and actual labor requirements for compact, jar and lipstick products. Planning the company's workforce needs using the help of SAP software, and the company will make adjustments on the production floor if there is an excess or lack of labor. Changes in the number of workers also make changes in labor productivity. Therefore, differences in the number of workers can be identified based on differences in the value of productivity that is planned and actual. To optimize planning, it requires root cause analysis using the DMAIC method and 5 whys analysis. By finding the root cause of the problem, the company can immediately take corrective action and improve their company.

Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze the causes of the differences between planning and actual labor requirements for Bottle and Cap products at PT X. Planning for manpower requirements were calculated through SAP software, while the actual labor requirements were carried out by manual calculation of production process requirements. Analysis of the causes of the problem is carried out using the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) method. The DMAIC method is a method commonly used in Six Sigma to solve problems. After doing the analysis, it is found that the differences that occur are caused by changes in people's needs from the time of planning to the actual production. Changes in people's needs are caused by production problems (reject, downtime, and loss hour), and improper planning. So that the root cause of the difference in planning and actual productivity is; machine failure or worker error, as well as outdated planning data.

Abstract

The COVID-19 virus pandemic has spread throughout the world. This makes a lot of impact in all sectors. One of the impacts is in the education sector. Government policies are carried out to break the chain of the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Therefore, the government requires studying at home. The number of tasks that must be completed by students both individually and in groups causes a lot of burnouts. To reduce burnout, resources are needed as a buffer so that the burnout level can be reduced. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of learning demand with personal moderators and organization resources on burnout. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 74 Industrial Engineering students at Petra Christian University. After the data was collected, the researchers analysed descriptively and to determine the effect between variables using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method. The results of the study stated that learning demand had a significant positive effect on burnout. Personal Resources as a moderator is able to weaken the influence of learning demand on burnout. Organizational resources as moderators are not able to significantly weaken or strengthen the influence of learning demand on burnout.

Abstract

PT. Jindal Stainless Indonesia is a manufacturing company in the stainless steel industry which is currently in the process of making improvements to the 5S work culture. Improvements began in the workspace by designing a role model in workspace with 5S concept. 5S is a method originating from Japan that aims to organize and maintain an intensive work area. The design of the workspace role model with the 5S concept is carried out in the workspace of the SHE and HRD Department. The seiri stage is the activity of selecting and sorting items in each area of the workspace. The seiton stage is an activity to tidy up existing items. The seiso stage is an activity to clean the space and work area. The seiketsu stage is an activity of applying the 5S standard. The shitsuke stage is a 5S discipline activity. With the workspace role model that has been created, the implementation of 5S in other workspaces will be easier. The result of designing and implementing a workspace role model with the 5S concept is the existence of a workspace role model with the 5S concept that can be used as a reference in implementing 5S in the workspace.
