<![CDATA[This article is a bibliographical essay of books and articles aboutthe development of Islamic law in Indonesia. Thus this paper tries oorganize some works conducted by both Indonesian and non Indonesianscholars. The article is divided into three parts. The first is introductionand then followed by the discussion about the topic itself. The secondpart is presented into several divisions according to the approaches ofstudy on the development of Islamic law in Indonesia, such as historicalapproach and legal approach. The last part is the conclusion.

<![CDATA[This writing discusses critical edition on book 6 of the Zad by Gerrit Bos. The book is entitled Ibn al-Jazzar on Sexual Diseases and their Treatment. Gerrit Bos writes that Ibn al-Jazzar on fever is a critical edition of Zad al-musafir wa qut al-hadir. This study focuses on how Gerrit Bos’ work is. The method of this research is library research by analyzing some literatures such as books and journal articles. The results of this study shows that the critical edition of book 7 chapter 1-2 by Gerrit Bos presents comprehensive information about one of al-Jazzar work. There are many inconveniences in reading the text such as consulting the English translation to the Arabic text but this critical edition is a great contribution in the academic world and magnificent since this is the first critical edition dealing with fever that has been published.]]>

<![CDATA[Artikel ini bermaksud membahas tentang persepsi Muslim tentang khusyu’ yang merupakan kondisi kejiwaan yang penting dalam ibadah terutama shalat. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap dosen dan pegawai di lingkungan STAIN Kudus. Data diperoleh dari wawancara mendalam dengan enam informan yang kemudian dianalisa dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun terdapat variasi tentang makna khusyu’ semua narasumber bersepakat tentang arti pentingnya khusyu’ baik dalam shalat maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Sementara itu indicator-indikator yang disampaikan oleh informan sejalan dengan indicator yang disampaikan oleh Imam al-Ghazali.]]>

<![CDATA[Samin people are communities follow the teaching of Ki Samin Surosentiko. They live in north coast of Java Island. As other Javanese people, they speak Javanese although mostly in ngoko style compare to their fellow Javanese who concern about language hierarchy. This article discusses marriage ceremony among Samin people consisting of several steps: nyumuk, ngendek, nyuwito-ngawulo and paseksen. The marriage ceremony was held in modest style but rich in meaning. The center of the marriage ceremony is the groom’s vow before the bride’s parents to be a husband. The vow is in simple Javanese language. According to Samin people, marriage ceremony is personal matter that needs no government involvement. Thus they do not register their marriage.]]>

<![CDATA[Perkara waris memiliki makna penting bagi masyarakat Indonesia. Hal ini bisa dibuktikan dengan adat yang berlaku di masyarakat tentang tata cara serta bagian masing-masing pihak dalam kewarisan. Artikel ini membahas seputar apa dan bagaimana hak opsi dalam sengketa waris bagi umat Islam di Indonesia. Bermula dari sistem politik yang diterapkan pemerintah kolonial Belanda dengan tujuan untuk membatasi berlakunya hukum Islam. Kebijakan penerapan hukum Islam, termasuk waris, boleh dilakukan selama hal itu tidak bertentangan dengan hukum adat. Masyarakat diberi kebebasan untuk memilih hukum apa yang akan diterapkan. Kebebasan untuk memilih hukum dalam bidang waris diteruskan oleh pemerintah Indonesia setelah Proklamasi kemerdekaan dan semakin dilegalkan dengan UU No. 7/1989 tentang Peradilan Agama. Meski klausul hak opsi hukum waris tersebut telah dihapus dengan adanya UU No. 3/2006 (perubahan atas UU No. 7/1989), namun secara implisit hak opsi masih diakui keberadaannya karena penghapusan tersebut tidak disebutkan secara eksplisit.]]>

<![CDATA[This article describes the contributions given by Indonesia womento the family laws, especially the issue of polygyny/polygamy. This is a historical research aims at providing a balance perspective on womenresponses upon the enactment of Islamic family law in Indonesia.Despite the socio political condition which limited women‘s role inpublic, Indonesian women were actively contributed to the debateconcerning family law issues, such as polygamy. Arguments given byfemale scholars and activist could not be separated from their sociopolitical background. This is a historical research aims at understandingthe role of Indonesia women in negotiating polygamy in public sphereand their ways of promoting their views and opinions. Data arecollected through library research and then analyzed in order to find thepattern of argumentation and contribution given by women in polygynyissues.]]>
