Abstract

The objectives of this research were to describe and analyze the teaching and learning of history through the outdoor study methods to increase the interest of students and can improve social skills. This type of research was a Classroom Action Research. Based on the results of the data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the application of outdoor study method can increase students' interest in learning history. It can be seen from the increase in the average percentage of students interest of learning 69.94% in the first cycle, second cycle is 74.25% and average percentage of students interest increased by 15.50 or 85.44% in the third cycle. The application of outdoor study method on history teaching can improve students' Social Skill. It can be seen from the increase in the percentage of students' social skills from the first cycle are 74.50%, and 76.35 in the second cycle increased by 8.85 or 83.35% into the third cycle.Tujuan yang diharapkan dari dilaksanakannya penelitian ini antara lain untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis penerapan pembelajaran sejarah melalui metode outdoor study untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat diambil kesimpulan penerapan metode outdoor study dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada pembelajaran Sejarah. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari peningkatan rata-rata persentase minat siswa siswa dari 69,94% pada siklus I, dan 74,25% siklus II rata-rata persentase minat siswa meningkat sebesar 15,50 atau menjadi 85,44% pada siklus III. Penerapan metode outdoor study pada pembelajaran Sejarah dapat meningkatkan keterampilan sosial. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari peningkatan persentase keterampilan sosial siswa dari siklus I persentasesebesar 74,50%, dan 76,35 pada siklus II meningkat sebesar 8,85 atau menjadi 83,35% pada siklus III.Kata kunci: keterampilan sosial, metode outdoor study, minat belajar
