Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the increasing of students ability of understanding of mathematical concepts who was taught by mind mapping learning method. The design which was used was pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research was all students of grade eight of Junior High School of 14 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2015/2016. The purposive random sampling technique was used to take two classes as the research samples. The data of this research were obtained by test of ability of understanding of mathematical concepts. Based on the result and discussion, it was concluded that the implementation of mind mapping method could increase students ability of understanding of mathematical concepts.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan metode mind mapping. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 14 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Teknik purposive random sampling digunakan untuk mengambil 2 kelas sebagai sampel penelitian. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penerapan metode mind mapping dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: mind mapping, peningkatan, pemahaman konsep matematis
