Abstract

This research is aimed to find out the effectiveness of creative problem solving towards students’ reflective thinking ability and self confidence. The population of this research was all of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2017/2018 who were distributed into eleven classes. The samples of this research were students of VII-I and VII-K class that were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The design used the static group pretest-posttest design. The data of this research were obtained by mathematical communication ability test and self confidence scale. The data analysis which was used was Chi-Square test, Mann-Whitney U test, and test. Analysis test shows that gain of student’s self confidence in creative problem solving class isn’t higher than in conventional learning class. Based on the research, it can be concluded that CPS model is not effective towards students’ mathematical reflective thinking ability and self confidence.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model CPS ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis dan self confidence siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 10 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam sebelas kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-I dan VII-K yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah the static group pretest-posttest design. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji Chi-Kuadrat, uji Mann-Whitney U, dan  uji  Analisis uji  menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan self confidence siswa pada kelas yang mengikuti pembelajaran creative problem solving tidak lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas konvensional. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji  diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa model CPS tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis dan self confidence siswa. Kata kunci: berpikir reflektif, creative problem solving, self confidence
