Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the misconceptions and factors that can affected students misconception of 8th grade students on Melinting district. The research samples consist of 235 students that were selected by purposive sampling. The design of this research was descriptive. Data was collected by written test and analyzed with Certainty of Response Index, and students questionnaire were analyzed by Kendalls Tau Correlation test. Study result showed that percentage of students misconseption on all concept was 61,28%. Percentages of misconceptions of students on photosynthesis, respiration and photosynthesis and respiration were 63,90%, 55,49%, and 45,53%. Study result of Kendalls Tau correlation that the factors affecting student misconceptions by student and error context of teaching.Penelitian bertujuan mendeskripsikan miskonsepsi siswa dan faktor yang mempengaruhi miskonsepsi siswa kelas VIII SMP se-Kecamatan Melinting. Sampel penelitian tersebut terdiri atas 235 siswa dipilih secara purposive sampling. Desain penelitian menggunakan deskriptif sederhana. Pengumpulan data dengan tes tertulis dan dianalisis menggunakan Certainty of Response Index (CRI), kemudian angket siswa dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Kendalls Tau. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa miskonsepsi pada keseluruhan materi sebesar 61,28%. Siswa yang miskonsepsi pada konsep Fotosintesis, Respirasi, serta Fotosintesis dan Respirasi sebesar 63,90%, 55,49%, dan 45,53%. Hasil dari uji korelasi Kendalls Tau terdapat faktor yang mempengaruhi miskonsepsi siswa yaitu pada siswa dan kesalahan konteks mengajar.Kata kunci: Certainly of Respons Index, fotosintesis, miskonsepsi, respirasi tumbuhan
