Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the effectiveness of Probing Prompting (PP) learning model and Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model to improve analytical thinking skill by considering the learning style. Research methodology used in this research was experiments with comparative approach. The experimental methods were divided into two, which are true experiment and quasi experiment. The methodology that was used in this research was quasi experiment. Data collection was done by using test. The data which were collected by test of analytical thinking skill were analyzed by using SPSS program. Based on analysis of the data, it obtained the result that PP learning model is more effective to improve the analytical thinking skill for students who have audio learning style and CIRC learning model is more effective for students who have visual learning style.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran Probing Prompting (PP) dan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir analitis dengan memperhatikan Gaya Belajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian eksperimen dengan pendekatan komparatif. Metode eksperimen dibedakan menjadi dua, yaitu eksperimen murni (True Eksperimen) dan eksperimen semu (Quasi Eksperimen). Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen semu (quasi eksperimen). Pengumpulan data dilakukan tes. Data yang terkumpul melalui tes kemampuan berpikir analitis diolah dengan program SPSS. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh hasil bahwa model PP lebih efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir analitis gaya belajar audiotori dan model CIRC lebih efektif untuk gaya belajar visual.Kata kunci: kemampuan berpikir analitis, probing prompting, cooperative integrated reading and composition, gaya belajar
