Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ability and motivation on the performance of the savings and loan fund management unit for women. The study was conducted in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province with a sample of 51 administrators of a savings and loan fund management unit for women in the Rural Independent Community Empowerment Program. Determination of sample using census method. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). The results of the study showed that the score of the administrator’s capacity of the savings and loan fund management unit for women was 65 percent, while the motivation score was 75 percent, and the performance score was 82 percent. The results of SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) analysis show that the performance of the management unit of the savings and loan fund for women is influenced by ability with a coefficient value of 0.49 formed by education and knowledge with a coefficient of 0.75 and skills of 0.89. Motivation affects performance with a coefficient of 0.46 formed by fisilogis with a coefficient of 0.52, security of 0.66, possession and ownership of 0.67, appreciation of 0.58, self-actualization needs of 0.53.Keywords: abilities, motivations, performance, woman

Abstract

Sago is a source of food for some people in Southeast Sulawesi, where one of the distribution areas is in South Konawe Regency. This study aims to: determine the behavior of the processing and development of sago agribusiness, and to analyze the relationship between processing behavior and the development of sago agribusiness. The population in this study was the sago processing group. Sampling was done randomly, with a total sample of 64 processing groups. The study variables consisted of sago processing behavior (knowledge, skills, attitudes) and sago agribusiness development (internal factors and external factors). Data were analyzed descriptively and analyzed using the Spearman rank correlation test. The results of the study show that: the behavior of sago processors from the aspects of knowledge and attitude is in the medium category, while from the skills aspect it is in the high category. The behavior of sago processing and sago agribusiness development has a positive relationship with moderate criteria.Keywords: sago processing behavior, agribusiness development, positive relationship

Abstract

This study aims to describe the competence of farmers in pepper farming. The research location was in the Kosebo Village, Angata Subdistrict, Konawe Selatan District that was chosen purposively, with the consideration that the village was the center of pepper production in Konawe Selatan Regency. The study population is all pepper farmers, amounting to 300 people. The sampling technique is done by simple random sampling. Determination of the number of samples using the Slovin formula to obtain a sample of 75 pepper farmers. The research variables consisted of 2 (two) competencies, namely the level of knowledge and skills of farmers in terms of aspects of cultivation techniques, starting from land preparation/planting hole, climbing pole planting, seed selection/ planting, plant maintenance (pest and disease control) to harvesting. Data analysis was performed descriptively qualitative. The results showed that the level of knowledge and skills of farmers who were well understood and mastered related to pepper cultivation, namely aspects of land preparation/planting hole, climbing pole planting, selection of seeds, planting and harvesting, while aspects of crop maintenance specifically control of stem rot rot were not yet understood and well controlled by farmers.Keywords: competence; farmers; pepper farming

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the relationship between gender contributions to the productivity of upland rice farming in Wolasi District, Konawe Selatan Regency. The study was conducted from April to August 2019. The study population was all upland rice farmers who received liquid organic fertilizer assistance. The sample was taken by using simple random sampling method. The number of samples was 38 farmers. The data observed were the amount of work day for male and female farmers, and the productivity of upland rice farming. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson Correlation test. The results of the study show that the relationship between gender contribution and upland rice farming productivity is very weak, which means that the quality of the work done by men is not different from that done by women.Keywords: gender contribution; productivity; upland rice farming
