Abstract

Research is aimed at analyzing comprehensively economic performance of middle scale skipjack fisheries in EEZ Indian Ocean. Economic performance is assessed through sensitivity analysis using multidimensional scaling approach with Rapfish ordination techniques of 10 attributes. Scoring criteria for each attribute have been modified according to Indonesia’s fishery contexts. Analysis result shows that economic performance of the fishery is in general still unsatisfactory. Other incomes sources is the worst attribute with sensitivity 5.36 followed by marketable right, limited entry, and ownership with sensitivities 4.92, 4.28, and 4.18 respectively. Sensitivities of other economic attributes show enough to good performances with sensitivities ranging from 3.89 to 1.08. Such results indicating the urgency for rapid responds to manage the worst performance attributes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the morphometrics and meristics of freshwater crayfish in Rawa Aopa Waters, Puwuta Village, Angata District, South Konawe Regency. The research were carried out using a purposive sampling method based on habitat characteristics. Station I is located 200 m from the residential area with an average current speed of 0.07 m/s. Station II is located 800 m from the residential area with an average current speed of 0.10 m/s. Station III 1.3 km from the residential area with an average current speed of 0.12 m/s. Sampling was carried out by simple random method for two months using modified traps from used gallons of water. Morphometric data analysis was performed using Analysis One Way Anova (ANOVA) and meristic component analysis was analyzed descriptively. The number of lobsters caught during the study amounted to 104 with 56 males and 48 females. The size distribution of the male and female lobsters caught were juveniles with a range of 2.86-9.90 cm and 4.41-9.86 cm to adults with a range of 10.38-13.48 cm and 10.55-15.71 cm respectively. The morphometric characteristics measured included the length of the carapace at the front, the length of the carapace at the back, the length of the stomach and the length of the tail (telson). The meristic characteristics that are counted include the number of spines on the telson, dactylus and propodus.

Abstract

Rumput laut (seaweed) adalah jenis ganggang berukuran besar makroalga yang termasuk tanaman tingkat rendah, rumput laut merupakan komoditas ekspor Indonesia yang diandalkan. Salah satu spesies yang dibudidayakan adalah Kappaphycus alvarezii. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesesuaian parameter kualitas air di Perairan Pulau Terapung dan Perairan Lemo, Kecamatan Poleang Tenggara, Kabupaten Bombana sebagai lokasi budidaya rumput laut K. alvarezii. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2021. Pengambilan sampel parameter fisika dan kimia dilakukan sebanyak 1 kali tiap stasiun. Hasil analisis kesesuaian kedua stasiun memiliki parameter yang sangat sesuai untuk budidaya rumput laut dengan diberi penilaian 5 adalah kedalaman, kecepatan arus, suhu, kecerahan, pH, dan oksigen terlarut sedangkan parameter yang kurang sesuai dengan penilaian 3 adalah keterlindungan, salinitas, nitrat dan fosfat. Dari hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa Pulau Terapung dan Lemo memiliki hasil analisis kesesuaian budidaya rumput laut jenis K. alvarezii yang sangat sesuai dengan total nilai skoring 98-110.

Abstract

One of the processed fish that is very popular among culinary enthusiasts is pempek. This preparation is made by grinding fish meat and adding a certain amount of flour to form a dough that can be formed in various types, such as submarine pempek, adaan, lenjer and several other forms. The purpose of community service activities (PKM) is to provide guidance for the Bau-Bau community members in producing various variants of pempek as food products for families and for culinary-based souvenirs or entrepreneurial products. Pempek is a value added product from Andeande fish that have low economic value. The activities were attended by small entrepreneurs who were registered with the Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) agency. The results of this activity showed the success of the participants in producing several types of pempek, namely black pempek from squid blood, pempek green kelor leaves, pempek shrimp, pempek filled with rebon and several other variants.Pempek;  Bau-bau;  UKM;  culinary;  value added product
