Abstract

Merauke is one of the regencies in Papua Province which is also affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is reinforced by the implementation of a lockdown or restrictions on access to and from the area by land, air and sea. The application of restrictions on entry and exit in the Merauke regency is quite long in 2020, which is for approximately two months. This study aims to compare the income of fishermen before the COVID-19 pandemic and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Merauke Regency, as well as to examine the problems faced by fishermen during the COVID-19 pandemic in Merauke Regency. This research was conducted from June to July 20121 with the research locations being Lampu Satu beach in Samkai village, Merauke district and Kumbe beach in Kumbe village, Malind district. These two locations were chosen because they are the centers of the largest fishing population in Merauke Regency. Primary data collection using interview techniques, to 40 respondents who were selected by purposive sampling. Each of the 20 respondents in Lampu Satu waters in Samkai sub-district, Merauke district and 20 respondents in Kumbe waters in Kumbe village, Malind district. The research data was analyzed statistically by looking at the trend and time series of fishermen's income in Merauke Regency. Based on the results of research and discussion, it was concluded that the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on the income of fishermen in Merauke Regency, both for ship owners, captains/captains, crew members (ABK) and for collectors/collectors of the catch. The impact given is in the form of a decrease in income obtained by fishermen by 58%. The decline in income was caused by constraints in marketing the main catch, namely fish bubbles which became an export commodity abroad during the total lockdown of airport and port access in Papua Province from March to June 2020. The decline in income was also caused by the increase in the number of operational costs in activities. arrests such as the cost of vitamins, medicines, masks and medical tests if needed.

Abstract

Through food processing technology, chili and tomatoes can be processed into more practical products. One of the popular chili preparations is chili sauce. Processed sauce use as a seasonings, add flavour to the food, and complement the dish. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide additional knowledge to the people of Yaba Maru Village on how to make a hygienic and durable chili sauce, that give economic advantage to the people. Yaba Maru village is one of the villages in the Tanah Miring District of Merauke Regency, which has abundant chili and tomato production. For the Yaba Maru community, tomatoes and chili are usually directly sold in raw form without processing. If the production are abundant, chili and tomatoes will be sold cheaply. Based on this, it is necessary to do community service activities that provide training on making chili sauce, to increase community knowledge and eventually increase the income of the community, especially for women or housewives. The method used in this service activity consists of training in making chili sauce, completed with how to package the sauce, to increase the quality and selling value of the products.

Abstract

This research was conducted from March to April 2016 located on Gusung Island, Selayar Islands Regency. The research objective was to determine the diversity of types of grouper fishing gear based on environmentally friendly indicators. The study used a survey method with a case study approach, through the determination of respondents purposively and analyzed descriptively. The results of the study found 2 (two) types of environmentally friendly fishing gear namely traps and fishing rod.

Abstract

One of the strategic issues of marine potential management is the low quality of human resources of Marine society. This issue needs to be addressed through human resources development aimed at improving knowledge, changing attitudes and improving skills. This research aims to develop a strategy to increase human resources competency Group of fishery in Makassar. The sampling method used is nonprobability. Samples were taken using the formula Slovin with a 10% accuracy so that the samples were taken as much as 87 of 654 people. The research location is the city of Makassar chosen based on the consideration that in Makassar there are groups of processing and marketers of fishery results. The Data collected includes HR competence. Data analysis uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative analyses. The coordinates of IFAS and EFAS are in Quadrant IV which demonstrates the strategy of improving HR competence on GMP in the fishery processing group in Makassar City using the strategy of WT (Weaknesses – Treaths).

Abstract

Research on community participation in mangrove planting in Payum Coastal aims to find out who is involved in planting mangroves and what are the stages in planting mangrove seedlings. This research was conducted in the Payum Coastal of Merauke Regency for 5 (five) months from July to November 2015. The research used survey methods and direct interviews with the community. The object of research is the people who live in the Payum Coastal Region along with traditional institutions as key figures of the study. Analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis by reporting research findings in the form of pictures and writings that describe something that is ongoing when the research is conducted. The results showed that direct community participation in mangrove management was carried out through mangrove planting based on local wisdom by the community in Payum Coastal. Activities carried out by indigenous peoples, traditional leaders, women and children. Mangrove seedlings planting activities consist of 4 (four) stages, namely nursery / seeding, bringing mangrove seedlings to the planting location, planting activities, and maintenance activities.

Abstract

Research about price variations of fish maw by fisherman in Lampu Satu Merauke Districts aims to determine variations in the price of fish maw and the determining factors for these price variations. This research was conducted in Merauke District for 2 (two) months from June to July 2020, using survey methods and interviews with fishermen. The object of this research is 5 fishermen who do fish maw fishing activities in MeraukeDistrict. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis, namely data analysis in the form of research reports in writing as well as pictures and tables. The results showed that the price variations of fish maw by fisherman in Lampu Satu Merauke Districts was determined by the type of fish, the sex of the fish, and the classification of the weight of the fish maw. The heavier the fish maw, the more expensive the selling price per kg. The price of fish maw for Gulama is higher than that of fish maw from Chinese snapper, while the price for fish maw from male Chinese snapper is higher than that fish maw from female Chinese snapper. Abstract

Penelitian yang berjudul analisis finansial pengolahan terasi udang skala rumah tangga oleh isteri nelayan di Binaloka Kelurahan Samkai Kabupaten Merauke, bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan keuntungan dari usaha pengolahan terasi udang. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 3 (tiga) bulan yaitu dari bulan September sampai Nopember 2020. Responden dari penelitian ini adalah 5 orang pengolah terasi udang skala rumah tangga. Responden dipilih berdasarkan metode purposive sampling dengan pertimbangan waktu dan biaya penelitian yang terbatas Analisis data dilakukan dengan menghitung biaya total, pendapatan usaha, dan keuntungan usaha. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan kesimpulan yaitu usaha pengolahan terasi udang skala rumah tangga oleh isteri nelayan di Binaloka Kelurahan Samkai Kabupaten Merauke memiliki nilai R/C Rasio sebesar 2,04 sehingga memiliki kategori layak atau menguntungkan. Adapun keuntungan yang diperoleh adalah sebesar Rp. 1.549.133 per produksi.

Abstract

Corona virus prevention is very important to do by using the socialization method. Socialization is providing information about how to prevent the Corona virus. Corona virus prevention can be done by practicing social distancing, implementing clean living and self-isolation to avoid transmission of the virus. Children are an important priority to be educated to have a healthy lifestyle. The service activities carried out aim to educate children on the coast of Binaloka, Samkai Village, to improve security independently in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. The high activity and interaction of the children around can already be balanced with the awareness of children in terms of strict self-care against Covid-19, for example washing hands properly and adopting a healthy and clean lifestyle. Through this activity it is hoped that children's potential to be exposed to Covid-19 can be reduced, because children have tried to take preventive measures. Based on the results of the service, there was an increase from pre test to post test, namely knowledge about the dangers of the corona virus from 56% to 80%. Knowledge of the correct use of masks from 70% to 100%, and knowledge of the importance of washing hands from 68% to 85%. Based on the increase in scores from pretest to posttest, it can be concluded that community service activities regarding health outreach and education for children in Samkai Village were successful.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya dalam pengelolaan ikan gulamah (Jhonius trachycephalus) yaitu dengan mengetahui aspek reproduksi ikan. Aspek reproduksi harus dilakukan karena sebagai dasar dalam pengelolaan ikan agar tetap lestari. Reproduksi ikan merupakan kemampuan suatu individu dalam menjaga kelangsungan hidup suatu ikan. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian adalah agar mendapat pengetahuan tentang segala hal yang berhubungan dengan reproduksi ikan gulamah (Jhonius trachycephalus). Teknik pengambilan data ikan menggunakan metode survei. Analisis aspek reproduksi yang ingin diketahui antara lain nisbah kelamin, indeks kematangan gonad (IKG) dan tingkat kematangan gonad (TKG). Hasil penelitian nisbah kelamin ikan gulamah (Jhonius trachycephalus) bulan Maret menunjukkan pola seimbang (0,6 : 1), sedangkan pada bulan April hingga Mei menunjukkan pola tidak seimbang (0,4 : 1). Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan gulamah (Jhonius trachycephalus) yang ditemukan pada Maret hingga Mei paling banyak adalah pada TKG I. Nilai IKG ikan gulamah (Jhonius trachycephalus) paling banyak ditemukan pada bulan April dengan nilai 1,22%.

Abstract

Fisheries resources are very vulnerable. Integrated management is needed between regions, sectors and stakeholders to sustain fisheries resources. Good management will provide the maximum benefits of the environment, economy and society. "Social and Ecological Market Economy" (SEME) is based on determining a triangle strategic, is the combination of capital, labor and environmental sustainability. This concept is needed as a benchmark in maintaining a balance between resource sustainability, fishermen as beneficiaries and the economic side to ensure the sustainability of fishermen's lives and prevent poverty. Some of the instruments that can be implemented based on the SEME concept are: 1) Supporting laws and regulations, 2) Improving the local market economy, 3) Creating a network of cooperation, and 4) Forming fishing activities and businesses based on environmental sustainability.
