Abstract

This study aimed to identify, write corrections, and describe the impact of dangling modifier realized in the students’ final projects. The research design was descriptive qualitative by taking 30 final projects as the sample. To analyze the data collected, the writer employed data reduction, data display, and conclusion or verification. From 30 final projects analyzed, the writer found 18 final projects indicated dangling modifier. The most significant dangling modifier realized was dangling modifier begun with present participle. There are two ways to correct dangling modifier: by changing the subject of the sentence so that it goes with modifying phrase, or changing the dangling phrase into a subordinate clause by adding a subordinating conjunction and a subject. Dangling modifier affects readability and coherence of writing. The writer suggests the students to avoid common errors in writing, especially dangling modifier in order the writing will have good readability.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan rasa percaya diri anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus, khususnya yang mengalami down sindrom, melalui kegiatan Fashion Show berjudul "Beauty In Imperfection" dalam rangka memperingati Hari Down syndrome Internasional. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan PkM ini adalah persiapan, identifikasi peserta, persiapan kegiatan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Temuan penting yang didapat dari hasil kegiatan PkM ini adalah adanya peningkatan kepercayaan diri anak-anak down syndrome, peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat tentang Down syndrome dan pengembangan keterampilan social anak-anak down syndrome. Hasil dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah peningkatan self-confidence anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus, yang diharapkan akan memberikan dampak positif pada kehidupan sehari-hari mereka. Selain itu, acara "Beauty In Imperfection" juga menjadi momen penting untuk merayakan keunikan dan potensi setiap individu, serta mempromosikan kesetaraan dan inklusi dalam Masyarakat. Acara ini menciptakan kesempatan bagi anak-anak Down syndrome untuk tampil di depan umum dan merayakan keunikan mereka, yang pada gilirannya memberikan inspirasi kepada mereka dan orang lain. Kerjasama yang erat terjalin antara berbagai pihak yang terlibat, menciptakan dasar yang kuat untuk mendukung anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus di masa depan

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to (1) collect data on the total population in Singkup Village, (2) recapitulate population data based on, (a) Gender, (b) Education, (c) Type of Occupation, (d) marital status, (e ) Age, (3) submit a report on the results of recording Village population data to the Head of Singkup Village, Pasawahan District and hold discussions about the follow-up of the results of this research. The method that the writer uses in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection methods used were observation and interviews. The data were processed using the Microsoft Excel application with the common size method. The results of this study indicate that the population in Singkup Village, Pasawahan District - Kuningan Regency is 1,848 people. The male population is 954 people (52%), and women are 894 people (48%). The types of work for the residents of Singkup Village include: farmers, private employees, Soldiers, Civil Servants, Domestic Servants. Businessman. The limitation of this study is that there are no graphs made from the results of processing population data in Singkup Village. The contribution resulting from this research is to broaden the insights and knowledge of students and lecturers in analyzing population data processing using the common size method. The novelty of this study is that the researchers held discussions with the Village Head about what the Village Head would do in responding to residents who did not have permanent jobs.
