Abstract

The aims of this study were to analyze a habitual consumption of sweet beverages and overweight among under graduate students. The cross-sectional study was conducted at Bogor Agricultural University in December 2014. The data were collected through self-administered tested questionnaire to 383 students after explaining by enumerators. The sweet beverage consumption was measured by the frequency of the consumption of sweet beverage per week. The type of sweet beverages include sweet soda, coffee, tea, jus, milk, energy drink, electrolyte, and sport beverage. The results showed that, after adjusted for sex, the sweet beverage consumption was not significantly associated with overweight (p >0,05). This implies that the overweightamong undergraduate student in this study may associated with total calorie intake of the students.Keywords: overweight, sweet beverage, undergraduate students

Abstract

Stunting yaitu balita yang memiliki kondisi tinggi badan yang kurang dibandingkan dengan umurnya. Ada beberapa faktor-faktor yang bisa mengakibatkan terjadinyastunting pada balita, salahsatunya asupan karbohidrat dan protein. untuk menganalisis hubungan asupan karbohidrat dan asupan protein dengan kejadianstunting pada balita (24-59 bulan). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode casecontrol yang dilakukan di Kelurahan Karanganyar Kecamatan Kawalu Kota Tasikmalaya. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 50 balita untuk setiap kelompok kasus ataupun kelompok kontrol, teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik quota sampling. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan asupan energi (OR=6,111; 95% CI: 2,201 – 16,965)), asupan protein (OR=5,160; 95% CI: 2,016 – 13,207) berhubungan dengan kejadian stunting pada balita (24-59) di Kelurahan Karanganyar Kecamatan Kawalu Kota Tasikmalaya.

Abstract

The Stunting rate in Seluma Regency is quite high in Bengkulu Province reaching 38.5 percent. The decline in the Stunting rate in Seluma in 2019 was 10.35 percent or down 28.15 percent from 38.5 percent. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of providing fish-based semi-finished food (analog sausage) as an alternative to increasing protein adequacy to reduce stunting rates in Seluma Regency. The study used a quasi-experimental design by presenting analog sausages to children under five, which was held from July to November 2021. The research location is in Seluma Regency. The population is children under five in Seluma Regency with a total sample of 75 children under five determined by purposive sampling. The intervention was carried out by giving 50 g/day sausages in intervention group I and 100 g/day in intervention group II, while the control group was given 50 g/day commercial sausages with an intervention duration of 4 weeks. Data analysis using the Anova test to analyze differences in energy and protein consumption and status of the intervention and control groups. The results showed significant differences in energy adequacy levels (TKE) and protein adequacy levels (TKP) in the three groups before and after the analog sausage intervention. The results of the Anova test showed that there was no significant difference in nutritional status in the three groups (p0.05)
