Abstract

Masalah gizi utama remaja di negara berkembang salah satunya adalah gizi kurang yang tercermin salah satunya dari stunting (Fatmah, 2010). Hasil Riskesdas 2013 menunjukkan prevalensi stunting remaja kelompok umur 16-18 tahun sebesar 31,4% (Balitbangkes, 2013). Stunting merupakan gangguan pertumbuhan linear yang diakibatkan oleh multifaktor yang kemungkinan besar dapat mengganggu metabolisme. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui prevalensi stunting di remaja akhir, dan menganalisis pengaruh  faktor resiko yaitu karakteristik sosial ekonomi, konsumsi susu dan minuman berkarbonasi, serta aktivitas fisik terhadap kejadian stunting remaja akhir. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross-sectional study. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2014 di Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB). Jumlah sampel penelitian adalah 488 orang mahasiswa TPB IPB 2014/2015. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling, dengan kriteria mahasiswa TPB-IPB usia 17-19 tahun, mengkonsumsi susu secara rutin minimal 1 kali per minggu, sehat (tidak sedang sakit atau memiliki penyakit), dan bersedia untuk dijadikan responden penelitian. Data karakteristik sosial ekonomi, frekuensi konsumsi susu, dan konsumsi minuman berkarbonasi dengan kuesioner. Data antropometri tinggi badan diukur secara langsung. Data-data tersebut kemudian disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan diagram.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi remaja stunting yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah 16,4%, lebih rendah jika dibandingan data Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) 2013 untuk usia remaja 16-18 tahun skala nasional (Balitbangkes, 2013). Faktor resiko yang berpengaruh terhadap kejadian stunting adalah pendidikan ayah dengan nilai odds ratio (OR) 1,912; CI 95% (1,119-3,268). Diharapkan faktor resiko stunting remaja akhir dapat mengalami penurunan dengan meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pencegahan stunting untuk generasi selanjutnya. Diharapkan faktor resiko stunting remaja akhir dapat mengalami penurunan dengan meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pencegahan stunting untuk generasi selanjutnya.

Abstract

Background: Morbidity of infectious diseases in developing countries is a public health concern because the prevalence is still high, particularly for children under five years. Vitamin A  intake was one of factors that may affect morbidity.Objective: The objective of this study was to analyze  relation between vitamin A supplementation, nutrition intake with vitamin A status and relation between vitamin A supllementation, nutrition intake, vitamin A status with morbidity.Method: The study was an cross-sectional study. This research was conductedin February-March 2016 in Kudus and Grobogan Central Java. Subjectsin this study were children aged 1-3 years(n=140). Retinol serum was collected by taking blood sample through the vein then was analyzed using HPLC, nutrients intake with food recall 2x24jam, and structured interviews with mother children. Data were analyzed with Chi-Square test.Results: The study found that 68 subjects (48.6%) were not took vitamin A supplemantation capsule. Prevalence of childrens had nutrient deficiency (<90% RDA) were relatively high 68.6% energy; 47.1% protein; 70.7% fat; and the prevalence of vitamin A defeciency (<77% RDA)  were relatively high 60%. A number of 24.2% subjects had low retinol serum (<20μg/dl). Supplementation vitamin A, fat and vitamin A intake correlated with retinol serum (p<0.05). Supplementation vitamin A, intake of vitamin A, vitamin C, zinc and retinol serum correlated with morbidity (p<0.05).Conclusion: Childrens who were not took vitamin A supplemantation capsule, deficiency intake of vitamin A, vitamin C, zinc and low retinol serum had higher morbidity.

Abstract

THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN FREE THYROXINE AND VEGETABLES COOKING AND SERUM CHOLINESTERASE OF CHILD BEARING AGE WOMEN IN ENDEMIC GOITRE AREAPesticides, a goitrogenic pollutant, strongly bind iodine to make a complex substance which iodinecan not optimally be utilized and leads to impair thyroxine hormone production. Farmers in Pakissub district of Magelang district often put pesticides of organophosphate and carbamate groups toincrease vegetables yield. The retained pesticides in the foods can be minimized by cooking. Todetermine the association between free thyroxine sera and vegetable cooking and cholinesterasesera. A cross-sectional study design was applied to 205 of child bearing age women (CBAW) of 17– 45 years of age in Pakis sub district of Magelang District, Central Java. Vegetable in whichpesticide may persist were cooked in two ways, namely were boiled and tumis (stir fried). Bloodspicement were drawn for fT4 and cholinesterase axamination. It was indicated that serum FT4 of68,3 % of CBAW were normal, while 31,7 % of them were low and 5.1% of CBAW with low serumCHE. There was a significant association between the way of cooking , status of serum CHE andcontraceptive use of family planning with to status of serum FT4. The child bearing age womenthat consume vegetables cooked by “tumis” (cooking stir fried) having higher risk of low serum freethyroxin status, 2,5 times than that of by boiling. CBAW with low cholinesterase enzyme (CHE)having lower risk of low serum free thyroxin hormone status (FT4), 10 times than that of withnormal CHE. CBAW with hormonal contraception having higher risk of low serum FT4, 0,50times than that usage non hormonal contraception. Abstract

The Objectivie of this study was to analyze the determinants of street food safety issues and formulate of its eradicatian program. The study used Survey methods and was conducted from April to August 2012 in Padang and Serang Districts.The The total number of 96 students from Padang District and 90 students from Serang District were selected purposively.The streed food issues data was taken  through focus grroup discussion of stakeholder (teachers, parents of students, vendors, and staff of the relevant agencies) and was analyzed using Interpretative Structure Modelling (ISM). The result showed that there are six determinats of street food safety issues namely: low level of street food vendor moral; a harmful additive still sold freely; coachingandsupervisiontostreet food vendorare stilllow; very low prices of harmful additives; The  government still allowed the production of a harmful additives;  additional ingredient dangerous; supervision on hawker food producers school children is still not a priority program

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of snack intervention on student nutritional and anemia status at Pasanggrahan 2 elementary school. Design study was experimental one–group pretest-postest design and was conducted at Pasanggrahan 2 elementary school in Purwakarta from August to December 2012.  The total number of fifty three students were selected purposively. The primery data were collected namely: household social economi and student characteritics, food habbit, nutritional and anemia status. The result of study showed that the energy and protein contribution to average of students nutrition adequate was 17.9% and 23.6% respectively. While the contribution of snack energy and protein to average of daily total nutrition consumption was 26.7% and 31.3% respectively. There was significant difference of student nutritional and anemia status before and after snack intervention as additional school feeding.

Abstract

The main nutritional problems of teenagers in developing countries are, among others, the less nutrition that is reflected from stunting (Fatmah, 2010). Riskesdas 2013 results show the prevalence of adolescent stunting group age 16-18 years by 31.4% (Balitbangkes, 2013). Stunting is a linear growth disorder caused by multifactors that are likely to interfere with metabolism. Research purposes is to know the prevalence of stunting in the late adolescent, and to analyze the effect of risk factors socioeconomic characteristics, consumption of milk and carbonated beverages, and physical activity of events final teenage stunting. The design of this research is cross-sectional study. This study was conducted in the month December 2014 at the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB). The number of sample is 488 students of TPB IPB 2014/2015. Selection of sample is done by purposive sampling, with criterion of student of TPB-IPB age 17-19 years, consume milk regularly at least 1 time per week, healthy (not being sick or have a disease), and are willing to be a research respondent. Data on socio-economic characteristics, frequency of milk consumption, and consumption of carbonated beverages with questionnaires. High anthropometric data body measured directly. The data are then presented in the form of tables and diagrams. Results research shows that the prevalence of adolescent stunting obtained from this research is 16,4%, lower if compared to 2013 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) data for adolescents 16-18 years old national (Balitbangkes, 2013). Risk factors that affect the incidence of stunting is education father with an odds ratio (OR) of 1.912; 95% CI (1,119-3,268). Expected risk factor for late teenage stunting can decrease by increasing knowledge of stunting prevention for generations next. It is expected that the risk factor for late teenage stunting may decrease with increasing knowledge of stunting prevention for the next generation.

Abstract

This research has the aim to analyze the relationship of nutritional status, knowledge, body temperature with fluid intake in pregnant women in West Jakarta. This study design used a cross sectional approach, with number of subjects 84 pregnant women in West Jakarta. Sampling using a purposive sampling method. The nutritional status of pregnant women was obtained based on the weight record before pregnancy. Subject knowledge and fluid intake were obtained by interview with questionnaire. The subject's body temperature was measured with a digital thermometer. Analysis of the relationship between nutritional status, knowledge, and body temperature with fluid intake using the Spearman test. Based on the test of the relationship of nutritional status with fluid intake, the value of p = 0,002 was obtained. Analysis of the relationship of knowledge with fluid intake obtained p = 0,022 and the relationship between body temperature and fluid intake obtained p = 0,089. The conclusion that can be obtained is that there is a relationship between, nutritional status, knowledge with fluid intake, and  body temperature has no relationship with fluid intake.

Abstract

Sufficient food availability in an area does not guarantee household food security. Household food security is a condition for the fulfillment of food for every household both in terms of quantity and quality. The purpose of this research was to determine the factors related to household food security in Medan City.  The research design used was a cross-sectional design. The location was in Medan Kota and Medan Denai District that chosen purposively with criteria for poverty level is 15-20 percent. The household sample was taken randomly as 120 households with the criteria prosperity (Pra KS and KS 1,2,3). The result of the research shows that 67,5% of households were household food insecurity, and 32,5% of households were household food security. Household expenditure has a relationship with household food security (p= 0,000), while the age of the household head, number of family members, and education level did not show any relationship (p> 0,05). In conclusion, that household expenditure has a direct effect on the status of household food security in Medan City. There needs to be a strategy and active participation from the local government in overcoming the problem of household food security in Medan City.

Abstract

Repong is a forest management system which inherently conducted by community in Lampung Barat Coast. The objective of this research were to analyze: 1) household socio economic characteristics, 2) household food access, 3) household food security, 4) socio economic factors that influence household food security. This research was conducted by using retrospective design. The location was in Penengahan Village, Karya Penggawa Subdistrict, Lampung Barat District that chosen purposively with consideration that the village is the main village producing resin. The samples were 30 households who own repong and 30 households who do not own repong that chosen snowbally. The result of the research shows that: 1) almost all (93.3%) household who own repong work as farmer, while half of household who do not own repong work as farmer (46.67%), service (40%), and trading (13.33%); 2) there is 30% of household who own repong and 36.7% of household who do not own repong that have low food access; 3) only 33.33% of household who own repong and 23.33% household who do not own repong are food secure; 4) factors that significantly influence energy consumption level are number of household member, size of repong, and food expenditure; factors that significantly influence protein consumption are number of household member and food expenditure; factors that significantly influence consumption diversity are number of household member and size of repong.

Abstract

The objective of this  research was to analyze farmer’s behavior in the production and post harvest management of fresh food (vegetables). A survey and cross sectional study design were applied in this study. The locations are chosen purposively, ie: Sukarame Village in Balik Bukit Subdistrict and Sekincau Village in Sekincau Subdistrict. The sixty respondents were chosen randomly using stratified sampling method. The data was analyzed descriptively and inferentially. Fresh food farmers in West Lampung District had low knowledge about GAP and also had attitude and behavior that was not appropriate with GAP. Activity in farm group and attitude about GAP had significant correlationship with behavior in production and post harvest management. The farmer’s attitude about GAP has bigger influence on the behavior than the activity in farm group.
