Abstract

Design and Development of Parabolic Motion Learning Videos as a Student Remediation Facility AbstractStudent learning completeness and remediation are the important problems in physics learning. The study aimed to develop remediation video on parabolic motion. This development uses the 4D models (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate) by Tiagarajan et al (1974). The developed parabolic motion learning video draft was validated and tested by respondents' perceptions. Expert validation results show that learning videos are worth a try. From the results of validation and testing to the respondents (N = 27), the results obtained that the video is very practical and feasible to use.It is expected that further research can test the effectiveness in using learning video and develop learning video in other materials so that many videos are available to be used by students in physics remediation program.Keyword: Learning Video, Parabolic Motion, Physics

Abstract

This study purpose to develop technology-based learning quiz in the universal gravity law topic. The Development of this quiz on physics learning using 4-D model. The validation results show that the learning media is valid and feasible to be tested. Based on results of analysis perceptions of respondents (N = 33), obtained that the media developed is practical and can be used as a medium for student learning. Further research is expected to be able to test the effectiveness of the use of technology-based learning media that have been developed and develop technology-based media on other topic.Kata kunci: media pembelajaran, teknologi, hukum gravitasi universal

Abstract

The mental models are internal representation possessed by students when learning a concept. This study is intended to explore students mental models on Heat and Temperature concept. This research was conducted on 11th grade students of Science program (N = 60) at one senior public school in Malang. Data were collected through open-ended questions and analyzed using the SSI method, which consisted of three levels of mental models. Based on the results, most of the students are still at the synthetic level. In addition, some differences of the students in visualizing the state of solid atoms during expansion, direction of heat conduction, and direction of heat convection. The future study is expected to explore the mental models of students in other topics of Physics education and make use of appropriate learning models to increase students mental models.

Abstract

Mental models is an ability that must be possessed by students, so it is necessary to do a meaningful evaluation as a basis for developing students' mental models. However, in Indonesia research on the field of mental models is rarely done because of several factors, one of which is a lack of reference methods that can be used as an evaluation tool. The purpose of this article is to convey methods that can be used to evaluate mental models derived from published articles. The results of our study provide choices of methods that can be used, namely the AC-SMM, SSI, SMD and PDE methods
