Abstract

Projected values of local wisdom in literary works can be a controlling attitude in global society. Through literary works, it can be obtained moral and ethical values that have been filtered through civilization of a cultured society. Literature is able to present knowledge and information, insight, precise and valuable experience, and educated through various types of literary works such as novels, short stories, poetry and drama. All of these values contains values, including local wisdom. Values that derived from local wisdom can serve as values of moral character and values of moral performance. These values are very important to know, studied, discovered, and transferred through educational activities. In the field of education,  the delivery of local wisdom values in literary works can be created through teaching and learning in classroom, family, and other appreciative activitiesin society. The value of local wisdom can be used as moral and performance character that are needed in facing global challenges. The influence of globalization reflects the changes of time and space concepts and the existence of cultural interactions. Therefore, literature plays an important role in spinning understanding of soul, character, culture, and social civilization into a power and force in facing the globalization. So that, the kindness values contained based on local wisdom in literary works have to be well explored, elaborated, transformed and communicated to public through the support of all parties.  Keywords— literature, values, local wisdom, global

Abstract

Buruda is an oral literary work as a regional cultural asset that is relatively important in the community life of Gorontalo. This research is conducted as an effort to preserve and maintain oral literature as part of the Gorontalo regional folklore. The research is aimed at describing the structure and function of buruda oral literature in the community life of Gorontalo. Moreover, this research applies a qualitative descriptive method, while the data collection technique is done by observation technique through recording and note taking, as well as interview technique that is carried out on informants such as traditional leaders and community leaders. The primary data of this research are buruda verses that have been translated into the Indonesian Language. Then, the data are analyzed structurally to discuss content and form. After that, interpreting, describing, and translating the functions of buruda oral literature are carried out. The research finding revealed that the structures of buruda oral literature are in the form of verse that consisted of ten parts as follows: (1) contains an expression of the feelings of people who are in love; (2) warning of the danger of lust; (3) praise to the prophet Muhammad shallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam; (4) the birth of the Prophet Muhammad shallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam as the light and guide to the right way; (5) the miracle owned by the Prophet Muhammad shallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam; (6) the glory of the Qur’an contains instructions for human salvation in the world and the hereafter; (7) the truth of isra and mi'raj experienced by Muhammad shallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam; (8) the challenges of the struggle of the Prophet Muhammad shallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam in spreading the message of Islamic treatises; (9) the importance of avoiding sin and immorality because of ashamed to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala; (10) the power of prayer and the importance of bermunajat (praying wholeheartedly) asking for mercy and compassion from Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. Furthermore, the function of buruda oral literature in the community life of Gorontalo contains moral messages in the form of a religious function, ethical function, and cultural function.

Abstract

Bentuk karya sastra puisi mempunyai struktur yang berbeda dengan prosa. Perbedaan itu tidak hanya dari struktur fisiknya, tetapi juga dari struktur batin. Dalam hal struktur fisik dan batin, penciptaan puisi menggunakan prinsip pemadatan yang mengungkapkan bentuk dan makna. Puisi terdiri atas dua unsur pokok yakni struktur fisik dan struktur batin. Kedua bagian itu terdiri atas unsur-unsur yang saling megikat sehingga membentuk totalitas makna yang utuh. Dalam penafsiran sebuah puisi, tak lepas dari kedua unsur tersebut. Untuk itu pada kajian ini dilakukan analisis terhadap struktur fisik dan struktur batin puisi berjudul "Kita Adalah Pemilik Syah Republik Ini" karya Taufik Ismail. Tujuannya adalah mendeskripsikan diksi, imaji, kata konkret, dan bahasa figuratif serta mendeskripsikan tema, rasa, nada, dan amanat puisi tersebut. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat untuk menambah wawasan di bidang kesastraan. Pendektan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan objektif. Sumber data adalah puisi berjudul "Kita Adalah Pemilik Syah Republik Ini" karya Taufk Ismail yang diperoleh dari buku kumpulan Tirani dan Benteng. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa puisi ini bernuansa perjuangan bangsa Indonesia. Melalui kepiawaian dalam memilih bahasa, diketahui makna puisi ini mampu membangkitkan semangat rakyat Indonesia yang telah merdeka untuk mempertahankan kemerdekaan tersebut. Taufik Ismail berhasil menyuguhkan tema perjuangan, nada yang bersifat menyulut atau mendorong, serta dan membangkitkan semangat rakyat Indonesia untuk terus maju dan tidak mau lagi dibohongi oleh kaum penjajah baik yang berasal dari dalam maupun luar negeri.

Abstract

Secara ekspresif pada dasarnya karya sastra dipandang sebagai ekspresi sastrawan, sebagai curahan perasaan dan pikiran sastrawan, atau sebagai produk imajinasi sastrawan yang bekerja dengan persepsi, pikiran atau perasaan-perasaannya. Secara umum berbagai problema manusia yang sering tergores dalam karya sastra berupa, perjuangan hidup, kesedihan, kisah cinta, pergolakan batin seseorang, dan lain-lain. Salah satu cerpen Indra Tranggono berjudul "Kristal Kesunyian" merupakan karya sastra yang mengulas salah satu persoalan kehidupan manusia. Cerpen ini memiliki makna humanis yang bermanfaat untuk dikaji. Perolehan makna dalam cerpen tersebut akan dikaji melalui; (1) struktur cerpen; (2) hubungan tema dengan unsur lain; dan (3) makna cerpen "Kristal Kesunyian" Tujuannya adalah mendeskripsikan struktur cerpen, hubungan tema dengan unsur lain, dan makna dalam cerpen. Teori yang digunakan pada kajian ini adalah teori struktural otonom. Metode dan analisis datanya dilakukan secara dskriptif analitik. Hasil pembahasan diperoleh bahwa cerpen ini memiliki struktur yang utuh dan memiliki tema sentral yakni kesedihan. Tema tersebut memiliki hubungan dengan unsur lain sehingga menghasilkan makna mengenai sebuah kenangan indah sepasang pengantin baru yang tak pernah menguap dalam tabung ingatan dan tak akan surut dari lautan rasa. Tapi kenangan yang dianggap sebagai sinar itu akhirnya berubah menjadi sesuatu yang sangat suram, gelap, dan mengendap dalam kesedihan yang amat dalam.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the author’s social group world view in Andrea Hirata’s novel Laskar Pelangi. It employed the genetic structuralism theory approach. The data were analyzed using a dialectic model through recursive, simultaneous, and iterative understanding of the literary text structure (out of society). The findings show that the cultural issues presented in LaskarPelangi deal with the harmony of the life of the Belitung society consisting of several ethnic groups. The author’s world view is relatedto the importance of social convergence emphasizing a mutual respect attitude towards each ethnic group. Besides, there needs to be an understanding of a local genius value in developing a life norm in a society and a nation.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan ikonitas perempuan dalam novel grafis Embroideries karya Marjane Satrapi dengan menggunakan teori semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik studi pustaka. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara: (1) mengidentifikasi tanda ikon; (2) mengklasifikasi satu per satu tanda ikon yang telah diidentifikasi berdasarkan teori semiotika Peirce; dan (3) menganalisis data yang mengandung ikon imagi, diagramatis, dan metaforis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cerita dalam novel grafis Embroideries secara imagi, diagramatis, dan metaforis menggambarkan ikonitas kehidupan perempuan yang mengalami inferioritas, baik posisinya sebagai gadis, istri, maupun sebagai janda.Kata kunci: ikonitas perempuan, novel grafis, semiotik WOMEN’S ICONITY IN MARJANE SATRAPI’S GRAPHIC NOVEL EMBROIDERIESAbstractThis study aims to describe the icons of women in Marjane Satrapi’s graphic novel Embroideries by using Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic theory. This was a qualitative descriptive study. The data were collected by the library research technique. The data were analyzed by: (1) identifying icon signs; (2) classifying icon signs that had been identified one by one based on Peirce’s semiotic theory; and (3) analyzing data containing image, diagram, and metaphor icons. The results show that the story in the graphic novel Embroideries in terms of image, diagram, and metaphor icons describes the iconity of the life of women experiencing inferiority, either as a girl, a wife, or a widow.Keywords: women’s iconity, graphic novel, semiotic

Abstract

Perbedaan antara laki-laki dan perempuan yang digambarkan di dalam karya sastra selalu menimbulkan beragam peristiwa sosial, termasuk persoalan ketimpangan gender.Peran perempuan dianggap hanya cocok berada di ranah domestik.Namun, secara feminisme profetik peran tersebut tidak dipersoalkan, karena perempuan meskipun berperan di dalam rumah tangga tetap bermanfaat dan memiliki nilai kebaikan.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan nilai feminsime profetik dalam novel Kota Kaum Cadar karya Zoe Ferraris.Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif.Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik pembacaan dan pencatatan.Data penelitian ini adalah nilai feminisme profetik dalam novel Kota Kaum Cadar karya Zoe Ferrraris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan dan laki-laki memiliki kesempatan yang sama dalam melakukan kebaikan baik di ranah domestik maupun publik. Di dalam novel Kota Kaum Cadar karya Zoe Ferraris peran perempuan diposisikan sejajar dengan laki-laki dalam konteks berbuat kebaikan guna memeroleh remunerasi pahala dari Tuhan.Secara feminisme profetik melalui deskripsi peran tokoh perempuan dalam novel ini ditemukan pula nilai-nilai berupa; nilai humanis(amar ma’ruf), nilai liberasi (nahi munkar), nilai transedensi(tu’mina billah). Ketiga nilai tersebut saling berkaitanerat dengan nilai-nilai kebaikandalam kehidupan keluarga dan masyarakat.Kata kunci: nilai, feminisme profetik, ketimpangan genderPROPHETIC FEMINISM VALUES IN THE NOVEL KOTA KAUM CADARBY JOE FERRARISAbstract.The differences between men and women always lead to social differences and status, including gender inequality. Women are still placed and considered inferior to men and tend to have a lower status. Based on prophetic feminism, the role of women as domestic servants is not a problem, because women still have values of benefits eventhough they just stay at home. The aim of this study is to describe prophetic feminism value in the novel Kota Kaum Cadar by Zoe Ferraris. The research was conducted by using a qualitative descriptive method and the data were collected through reading and documentation techniques. The primary data in this research was prophetic feminism value in Kota Kaum Cadar novel by Zoe Ferraris. The results of the study showed that men and women have the same opportunities in exposing positive activities in local or public areas in order to get God’s rewards. The other prophetic feminist values that were found through the description of women’s character in this novel are humanization values (amar ma’ruf), liberation value (nahi munkar) and transcendence value (tu’mina billah).Keywords: values, prophetic feminism, gender inequality

Abstract

AbstrakMasalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana menciptakan pola komunikasi yang baik di kelas dan Bagaimana peran guru menjalin komunikasi yang baik dengan siswa di kelas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan pola komunikasi yang baik di kelas dan peran guru menjalin komunikasi yang baik dengan siswa di kelas. Pola komunikasi yang baik di kelas tentunya sangat bergantung dari kemampuan guru selaku pembicara menyampaikan instruksi dan materi di kelas melalui bahasa yang baik dan benar. Penerapan bargaining power dalam membangun pola dan tindak komunikasi yang efektif di ruang kelas perlu didukung oleh iklim sosial terbuka, mandiri, dan persaudaraan, serta memperhatikan point-point penting berupa ketepatan, kejujuran, dan kebenaran (objektivitas). Hal itu perlu diperhatikan agar nilai dan tatanan norma dan etika yang dibangun di dalam diri siswa akan tetap terjaga. Dengan begitu, maka siswa tidak hanya memiliki kecerdasan dan keterampilan berbahasa atau berkomunikasi yang baik, namun memiliki pula mental dan karakter yang positif. Kata Kunci: Pola Komunikasi, Guru, Siswa dan Sosiologi

Abstract

 AbstrakDalam mengajar, guru harus menghadapi sekelompok siswa dengan karakteristik dan psikologi yang berbeda. Sehingga, guru harus mampu menciptakan interaksi yang efektif di kelas dan menggunakannya dalam proses pengajaran sejak awal hingga akhir proses pembelajaran. Dalam pengajaran bahasa, aspek psikologis adalah hal terpenting yang harus diperhatikan oleh guru. Jadi, psikolinguistik bisa dijadikan pendekatan dalam proses belajar mengajar. Keberhasilan proses belajar mengajar juga ditentukan oleh sistem interaksi di kelas. Sistem yang berpusat pada guru dapat membuat siswa merasa nyaman. Para siswa merasa terkekang, sehingga kesediaan dan motivasi belajar mereka terbatas. Hal ini disebabkan oleh dominasi guru di kelas dan tidak memberi siswa untuk menyampaikan gagasan mereka dan melibatkan siswa untuk mengetahui tujuan pembelajaran. Sehingga, penting untuk menciptakan sistem interaksi yang efektif yaitu sama, terbuka dan tidak mengekang para siswa. Penting untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan minat siswa dalam belajar, dan juga siswa dapat mengurangi kecemasan siswa dalam belajar bahasa.AbstractIn teaching, the teacher has to face a group of students with their different characteristics and psyhology. So that, the teacher has to be able to create an effective interaction system in class and use it in teaching process from the beginning to the end of learning process. In teaching language, psychological aspect is the most important thing that should be considered by the teacher. So, psycholinguistics can be used as an approach in teaching and learning process. The succesful of teaching and learning process is also determined bythe interaction systems in classroom. A teacher-centered system can make the students uncomfortable in leaning. The students feel oppressed, so their willingness and motivation in learning are limited. It is caused by the domination of the teacher in class and do not give opportunities to students to convey their ideas and involve the students to determine the learning goals. So that, it is important to create an effective interaction system which equal, open and do not oppressed the students. It is important to increase the students’ motivation and entusiasm in learning, and also the students it can diminish the students’ anxiety in learning language
