Abstract

This research aims: (1) to observe the strength of wood join using adhesive in holding up the shearing load, (2) to observe the difference of shear strength of wood join using adhesive of several trademarks: GG, ZZ, FF, RR, and PP.This is an experimental research conducted in the Construction MaterialTesting Laboratory, the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning Education, FT UNY. Five trademarks of adhesive are used: GG, ZZ, FF, RR, and PP, 10 samples for each trademark of adhesive. The total samples of this research are therefore 50. The data analysis technique to reject or accept the hypothesis uses the one way variant analysis. The test requirements for one way variant analysis are: (1) normality test and (2) homogeneity test. The research results show that: (1) the mean of shear strength of wood join using the adhesive of GG is 14 kg/cm2, adhesive ZZ is 16,64 kg/cm2 , adhesive FF is 20 kg/cm2 , adhesive RR is 22,64 kg/cm2 , and adhesive PP is 37,82 kg/cm2• (2) There is a significance difference among shear strength ofwood join using the adhesives of GG, ZZ, FF, RR, and PP. (3) The comparison result of the economical values viewed by the adhesive trademarks from the most to the least economical ones are FF, PP, RR,GG, and ZZ. (4) The comparison results of the adhesive characteristics from the most brittle to the most elastic ones are respectively RR, PP, FF, GG, and ZZ. (5) The comparison results of the cohesion power from the highest to the lowest ones are respectively RR, ZZ, PP, GG, and FF. Key words: adhesive, joining material, and wood.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study examines the design of normal concrete mixtures according to SNI 03-2834-2000 and SNI 7656: 2012. This research is done because SNI 7656: 2012 is an adoption of ACI 211 which requires a mixture considering its economic side. This research was conducted by experimental method in laboratory. In this research, the test object used is concrete cylinder with dimension 150 x 300 mm. The test specimen consists of 2 variants, namely: normal concrete SNI 2000 (BN-00), and normal concrete SNI 2012 (BN-12). Each variant consists of 3 strong compressive specimen plans: 25 MPa, 30MPa, and 35 MPa. Based on the result of the test, it is found that the strength of concrete with the design of SNI 2000 for the compressive strength of 25 MPa (BN-00-25), 30 MPa (BN-00-30) and 35 MPa (BN-00-35) 27.24 MPa, 38.99 MPa, and 44.85 MPa. While the concrete mean press with the design of SNI 2012 for the compressive strength of 25 MPa (BN-12-25), 30 MPa (BN-12-30), and 35 MPa (BN-12-35) plans were 31,43 MPa , 36.54 MPa, and 39.76 MPa. Keywords: mixed design, SNI 03-2834-2000, SNI 7656: 2012, compressive strength   ABSTRAKMakalah ini mengkaji tentang rancang campur beton normal menurut SNI 03-2834-2000 dan SNI 7656:2012. Dilakukannya kajian ini karena SNI 7656:2012 merupakan adopsi dari ACI 211 yang mensyaratkan suatu campuran dengan mempertimbangkan sisi ekonomisnya. Kajian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen di laboratorium. Pada kajian ini benda uji yang digunakan adalah silinder beton dengan dimensi 150 x 300 mm. Benda uji terdiri dari 2 varian yaitu : beton normal SNI 2000 (BN-00), dan beton normal SNI 2012 (BN-12). Tiap varian terdiri dari 3 spesimen kuat tekan rencana yaitu: 25 MPa, 30MPa, dan 35 MPa. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian didapatkan kuat tekan rerata beton dengan rancangan SNI 2000 untuk kuat tekan rencana 25 MPa (BN-00-25), 30 MPa (BN-00-30), dan 35 MPa (BN-00-35) berturut-turut sebesar 27,24 MPa, 38,99 MPa, dan 44,85 MPa. Sedangkan tekan rerata beton dengan rancangan SNI 2012 untuk kuat tekan rencana 25 MPa (BN-12-25), 30 MPa (BN-12-30), dan 35 MPa (BN-12-35) berturut-turut sebesar 31,43 MPa, 36,54 MPa, dan 39,76 MPa.   Kata kunci: rancang campur, SNI 03-2834-2000, SNI 7656:2012, kuat tekan

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe echo sounding measurement is a method that can be used to know thechange of dam volume directly on the field. This research aims to: (1) know therest of the economic age of the Panglima Besar Jendral Sudirman (PBJS) Dambased on measurement and calculation the echo sounding data, and (2)give more detail view of the changes of the PBJS Dam condition viewed fromsedimentation problem.The research activities were conducted in the PBJS Dam located onKabupaten Banjarnegara, Jawa Tengah. The research utilized secondary datacollected using documentation technique, consists of: (1) sediment volume/year,(2) dam effective volume, (3) dam volume, and total sediment volume year/year. The data were the best mathematic curve interpretationsupported by the Microsoft Excel software. The mathematic curve is indicatedby the variance value coefficient (R) value fromthe various existing trend curve alternatives.The research results show that based on various mathematic curves beingused, since 1999 the rest of operation age of the PBJS Dam lies between 17.37to 20.71 years. This conclusion is a simple prediction without considering thefuture erosion control changes. The rest of the dam age assumps thatthe natural condition especially the sedimentation rate occuring in the dam doesnot change significantly compared to what happened on the previous years andit is not affected by the existing sand mining on the upstream of the dam.Keywords: dam age, echo sounding
