Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas kimia biskuit ransum komplit dengan penggunaanempulur sagu dan dedak padi sebagai pakan ternak. Bahan yang digunakan adalah empulur sagu, rumputgajah, daun lamtoro, dedak dan air. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5perlakuan yaitu P1 (25% empulur sagu + 5% dedak padi), P2 (20% empulur sagu + 10% dedak padi), P3(15% empulur sagu + 15% dedak padi), P4 (10% empulur sagu + 20% dedak padi), dan P5 (5% empulursagu + 25% dedak padi). Setiap perlakuan terdiri dari 5 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwapenggunaan empulur sagu sampai 25% dan dedak padi 5% (perlakuan P1) mempunyai kadar air tertinggi7,14%, protein kasar terrendah 10,19%, lemak kasar terrendah 1,72%, dan kadar BETN tertinggi 57,53%.Sebaliknya penggunaan dedak padi yang lebih tinggi sampai 25% dan empulur sagu 5% (perlakuan P5) mempunyai kadar air terrendah 6,09%, protein kasar tertinggi 11,99%, dan lemak kasar tertinggi 3,35%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas kimia biskuit pada perlakuan P5 lebih baik, karena kadar proteinnyalebih tinggi, tetapi kadar air dan kadar serat kasarnya lebih rendah.Kata kunci: empulur sagu, dedak padi, kualitas kimia, biskuit ransum komplit

Abstract

As beef cattle, Bali cattle which rearing by the breeder in Raja Ampat regency most in the traditional extensive system. There are many factors to support beef cattle development in this region such as widely land condition with grass forage and feed concentrate as feed for cattle. The objectives of this study were to identification and analysis beef cattle development in Raja Ampat regency base on region and breed potential. Using survey method by interview to 218 of respondent and field observation were done in Sakabu, Kalobo and Waijan Village which tended as the center of beef cattle breeding. The result showed that beef cattle development reach out for 17,792.55 UT, but in productivity factor, Bali cattle in Raja Ampat was small in body weight. To increase beef cattle production and population can be done by reduced beef productive selling and by using an integrated farming system. Based on the potential of territory, the capability of beef cattle development in Raja Ampat regency can reach 17,792,55 ST, so from that number, the research location is potential to be directed to be the beef cattle development area. However, when viewed from the aspect of productivity, beef cattle are maintained have a lower body weight than other regions, indicating a decrease in performance and genetic quality. Reduction in the number of livestock sales in the population and the application of crop-livestock integration systems can be the solution.

Abstract

Growth, which is defined as an increase in body size per unit time, is one of the most important characteristics of farm animals. The purpose of this research was to know and analysis the growth pattern of native fowl ranging in intensive farming system. Animals used in this study consists 101 native fowls which measured in 8 weeks of age to defined bodi weight and growth pattern. Results of analisys showed that the body weight of chicken was 732,21 g on age of 8 weeks with 10,61 g / day of growth rate. As a result, growth pattern fitted to the body weight – age data from native fowls might suggest us to used intensif farming system in native fowls rearing..

Abstract

Perkembangan ternak sapi potong berkorelasi positif dengan ketersediaan hijauan sebagai sumber pakan ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi wilayah dan daya dukung lahan dalam menunjang ketersediaan pakan ternak bagi pengembangan sapi potong yang dipelihara oleh penduduk lokal setempat di kampung Sakabu Distrik Salawati Kabupaten Raja Ampat. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei dengan cara pengamatan langsung di lapangan. Peubah yang diamati meliputi: iklim, jenis tanah dan topografi, luas lahan, sistem penggunaan lahan, dan daya dukung lahan (kapasitas tampung), serta populasi sapi potong yang dipelihara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan potensi maksimum sumber daya lahan sebesar 6237,703 ST dan jumlah populasi yang ada sebanyak 35,2 ST. Berdasarkan hasil analisis potensi wilayah dan daya dukung lahan bagi penyediaan sumber pakan ternak maka jumlah sapi potong yang masih dapat dikembangkan di kampung Sakabu sebesar 6202,50 ST.

Abstract

Phisical environment such as climate and attitude of place were the important factors effect on production performance of broiler, layer, or domectic fowl. The purpose of this research was to know the effect of altitude on body weight and average daily gain of native fowl breeded at starter period. The research was conducted at Waringin Cap area (highland of attitude place) and Air Alii Area (lowland of attitude place), which 106 tail of native fowl were rearing in intersive poultry farming system. DOC were placed on brooder box cage with 2 x 1 x 1 of size. The variables such as body weight and average daily gain were measured every week during 4 week observation. The results of this study show that both the average of body weight of hen in Waringin Cap were 30,70 ; 46,48; 131,44; 248,44 dan 329,98 g, whereas the average of body weight of hen in Air Alii were 30,98; 47,34; 139,45; 254,21 dan 348,81 g respectively for one day, 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks of age. The average daily gain rate were 0,22 – 0,40 and 0,32 – 0,52 g/tail/day respectively for chicken in highland and lowland attitude rearing. and there are no significantly different of the attitude effect on native fowl performance breeded at starter period.

Abstract

A success of government effort to support a breeding development program of local livestock not get out of the participation of breeder society. The research objective was to analysis local breeder knowledge and participation rate and their both correlation in Moa buffalo breeding in Moa island. This research was conducted by using survey method, with 30 respondents from three village in which ten for each village were selected to interview. Data collected was analysed by using descriptive method. Observed variables were knowledge and participation rate of local buffalo herders. The results showed that knowledge scores of the breeders from the three villages Tounwawan, Klis and Werwaru were 15,0 ; 15,8 and 15,8 respectively and categorized in low level. The participation scores of local buffalo breeder were 26,9 (high), 17,5 (low), and 20,4 (medium) respectively for Tounwawan, Klis and Werwaru. There was no correlation of the rate of breeders knowledge and their participation scores in breeding development of Moa buffalo in Moa island.

Abstract

The aims of this reseach were both to identification of coat color and to characterization several body measurements of Bali cattle male categorized in three types of age which reared in traditional farming system. The study conducted by using survey observatory method with total of 154 tails of beef cattle using for coat color identification and 29 tails of male Bali cattle were measured. Observed variables were coat color, chest circumference, shoulder height and body lenght. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the distribution of Bali cattle with normal coat color was 100 %, but if diveded into native and unnative color then the frequencies were 64 % and 36 % respectively. The average rate of chest circumference, shoulder height and body lenght of male Bali cattle respectively were follows 108.47, 86.92, and 84.07 cm for Io ; 120.62, 96.98, dan 96.61 cm for I1 ; and 144.75, 116.93, and 112.22 for I2 cm. The body size of male Bali cattle is still relatively low and does not meet the quality standards of good beef cattle.

Abstract

The nature of rice bran is easily damaged, it is necessary to seek a way to overcome this problem. The addition of antioxidants is one way of prevention, one of which is by using Dutch jackfruit leaf flour. This study was conducted to determine the physical and chemical quality of rice bran with different levels of Dutch jackfruit leaf powder. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments, where there were 3 replications in each treatment. The treatments that were tried were as follows: DNB0 (Rice bran with 0% Dutch jackfruit leaf flour) ; DNB1 (Rice bran with 0.6% of Dutch jackfruit leaf flour) ; DNB2 (Rice bran by giving 1.2% Dutch jackfruit leaf flour) ; DNB3 (Rice bran with 1.8% Dutch jackfruit leaf powder). Qualitative data such as odor and color of rice bran were discussed descriptively, while quantitative data such as weight, number of lice, and chemical quality of rice bran were analyzed using statistical inference method using Analysis of Variance with Completely Randomized Design method. The results showed that the use of Dutch jackfruit leaf flour could still maintain the color and odor quality of rice bran stored for one month. The results of the analysis of variance showed that there was no significant effect of using Dutch jackfruit leaf flour up to a level of 1.8% on the quality of weight, lice, moisture content, ash, crude protein, and crude fat of rice bran.

Abstract

Sagoo by product can be used with purpose of poultry alternative feed pakan, such as fed energy source of Kampong chicken, caused by the content of energy metabolism of sago by product reach 2340 Kcal/kg, crude protein 3.40%, and crude fibre 11.61%. This research aims was to know the performance of Kampong chicken on starter period given by feed with contain sago by product, as representing form of application of exploiting of local feed source especially waste of sago processing which was a lot of there in Maluku Province. The Research study was conducted in rural ranch of Kampong chicken, and take place during two months. This research used the experimental method to compare the performa of Kampong chicken on starter period (0- 4 week of age) which rearing by local breeder. The results showed the performance of Kampong chicken given by feed with contain sagoo by product were 27.11 – 32.85 g/tail/day, 10.19 – 13.49 g/tail/day, 2.43 – 2.66, and 0 % respectively for feed consumtion, average daily gain, feed convertion rate, and mortality rate. It can be concluded than sagoo by product can be used as Kampong chicken feed on starter period.

Abstract

This research and paper were conducted and represented as a effort to stipulating the Kisar Sheep as a local genetics germ cell resource in Indonesia, and this step was helpfully to their development and observation in Maluku Province especially. Morphology analysis by using canonical discriminant method was used to defining and determine the difference variable between Kisar sheep with the the other local sheep breed whisch spread over in Indonesia. Pursuant to specific characteristic or appearance, phenotific characteristics and also natural excellence which found on Kisar sheep, it is on the right track for this local livestock breed can be specified officially as one of the type of local sheep breed in Indonesia.
