Abstract

The Covid-19 virus pandemic that has hit the world since two years ago has changed the education system rapidly and extremely, mainly in the process of teaching and learning activities. All learning activities turn into distance learning. This research tries to study the students of Semarang Polymarine in the Commercial and Port Shipping Management Study Program who take an Indonesian language course. It has two main objectives. The first is to improve the students' ability to write scientific papers on distance learning. The second one is to find out the effectiveness of using Kahoot! to improve the ability to write scientific papers on distance learning. This is a classroom action research that consists of two cycles each research stage to identify and view the implementation of the Kahoot! in the learning process. Each cycle is divided into four stages of research. They are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research uses three techniques in data collection, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that there is an increase in the students’ learning outcomes which can be seen from the post-test scores. The use of Kahoot! can also be said as successful, because the students’ learning outcomes have reached 75% of the students’ being tested

Abstract

Dermaga Moller Jaya Tegalsari adalah dermaga yang berada di desa Rowosari, kecamatan Rowosari, Kabupaten Kendal. Latar belakang pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah masih minimnya sarana untuk kebutuhan air bersih di dermaga jika digunakan secara bersamaan maka pengabdi ingin melakukan PKM dengan membuatkan tambahan sarana air bersih berupa tandon air beserta rangkanya. Tujuan PkM ini adalah memberikan pelatihan dan praktik pengelasan SMAW kepada nelayan di dermaga dengan membuat rangka tandon air sendiri. Pelaksanaan PkM ini bekerjasama dengan mitra Pemerintah Desa Rowosari khususnya pada kelompok nelayan dermaga Moller Jaya Tegalsari. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah ceramah, tanya jawab dan praktik langsung pengelasan membuat rangka tandon. Materi PkM adalah komponen mesin las SMAW, pengoperasian mesin las SMAW, macam-macam sambungan las dan keselamatan kerja. Hasil PkM adalah memberikan wawasan tentang materi pengelasan dan praktik pengelasan SMAW pada masing-masing peserta sebagai bekal untuk berwiraswasta apabila sedang tidak mencari ikan di laut.

Abstract

Heat energy and steam pressure are very important properties in various life applications. The steam production process in a boiler can occur in a container or in a pipe. Fuel as a source of chemical energy for steam boilers can use solid, liquid or gas types. The use of solid fuel is relatively easier to use, by simply putting it into the fire kitchen. Use of gas as boiler fuel can use a gas burner as in a gas stove. The type of fuel oil used as boiler fuel is diesel oil. Diesel oil in order to be used as boiler fuel requires a burner as a fogger combined with compressed air. This study was conducted for the purpose of studying the performance of the boiler when operated from cold conditions to the maximum achievable pressure. Specifically, to determine the specific fuel consumption and the amount of fuel cost required. The experimental method was chosen for the study. Steam pressure and the amount of fuel required during combustion and steam production were the two parameters measured. There are 3 types of diesel oil grades that will be analysed in this study. Fuel type and quality affect the time required to reach maximum pressure. Bio diesel takes the longest time, dexlite takes a shorter time, and pertamina dex takes the shortest time. Total difference in fuel consumption for one operation of bio diesel oil, dexlite, and pertamina dex is 4.68, 4.38, and 4.19 litres respectively. The amount of cost required to pay for bio diesel oil, dexlite, and pertamina dex is Rp 31,824, Rp 62,415, and Rp 64,526 for one operation respectively. Fuel consumption for laboratories is recommended to use dexlite with better quality than bio diesel at a lower price than using Pertamina dex.
