Abstract

Bekasam adalah produk fermentasi ikan. Bekasam diduga mempunyai aktivitas Angiotensin I Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, yang disebabkan oleh terbentuknya peptida ACE inhibitor hasil aktivitas proteolitik enzim endogenous ikan dan bakteri asam laktat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perubahan populasi bakteri asam laktat, pH, total asam, perubahan protein terlarut dan besarnya aktivitas ACE inhibitor selama proses fermentasi bekasam. Jumlah populasi bakteri laktat meningkat dari 5,16 menjadi 8,15 log CFU/g, nilai pH menurun dari 6,5 menjadi 4,41 disertai dengan peningkatan total asam. Bekasam bandeng menunjukkan aktivitas antihipertensi sebesar 51,77% yang terbentuk pada hari ke 6, dan tidak menunjukkan aktivitas penghambatan pada proses fermentasi selanjutnya. Besarnya aktivitas ACE inhibitor berkorelasi dengan terjadinya kenaikan protein terlarut selama proses fermentasi bekasam.

Abstract

As members of society, we are necessarily trained in writing activities, at least in creating sentences to good paragraphs. However, there are reasons how to read is not enough, and we are also interested in how to write sentences very well (Zamel, 1987: 257). Writing a good paragraph is a complex process that has been done and not easy for everyone. From four language skills, writing a composition is considered as a subject that is difficult to master.  Mastery of writing is not a skill which can be learned in isolation. It means that writing is integrated by the other language skills such as reading, speaking, and listening, (Richard Rodger (1999:56). The usage of acceptable technique is essential in teaching-learning process because it motivates the students to learn English. Therefore, the writer provides a research question on whether the students have created their composition easily through a peer-to-peer discussion. In this case, the writer needs to observe whether there are different results of composing a paragraph through a peer-to-peer discussion compared with the other groups. The objectives of the study are whether students using the discussion to write a good paragraph gain better scores in English than those who do not. The writer collects the data from the students of the second year. They were asked to write a paragraph based on specific topics provided by a classroom teacher and choose three alternative topics to write quickly. The first process was that the students were trained to write a paragraph in a group. Next, in the final activity, they create a composition. The result of research about making composition through a discussion way is right. They can share each other to correct the mistakes. With the result of the discussion, the students can create the composition better the next day. The research concludes that making composition through a discussion way is one of the solutions to make composition easier for the students. Based on the result of research, the students enjoy writing a paragraph through discussion way.

Abstract

Sebelas Maret University Surakarta (UNS) applies an assessment system for student attendance in attending practicum lessons by 75%. In many cases, students who are not present can entrust attendance signatures to their friends to fill out the attendance list that is circulated in the practicum class. This is one of the factors that makes the assessment of student knowledge and competence doubtful. Another problem that exists in the presence section is the absence of a computerized attendance system equipped with automated attendance data calculations. The current attendance system only utilizes the Microsoft Excel application, whose report generation still uses manual input. This can allow for errors in inputting student attendance data. Based on the description of the background, it can be formulated the problem to be solved in this research is "How to design a student attendance information system in the scope of the Faculty of Engineering UNS". Limitations The problem that the author discusses in the study focuses more on the process of recording student attendance in accordance with the practicum schedule in the Civil Engineering laboratory. The method used for designing student attendance information systems uses the Waterfall Model System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The programming language used is PHP and MySQL database. The design of this attendance information system is expected to prevent fraud committed by students in terms of attendance, for example such as attendance deposit. Student attendance data that can be entered into this information system is only students who attend the practicum in the civil engineering laboratory according to a predetermined schedule.
