Abstract

Employee performance is critical to the overall success of the company. In achieving their goals, companies will face many challenges. This can be overcome in several ways, one of which is by improving employee performance. Therefore, it is important to measure the role performance of employee in Indonesia. Work role performance scale was first delevoped in Australia in 2007 and have not been adapted for Indonesian population. This study intends to evaluate the validity and the reliability of the Indonesian version of work role performance scale. Aiken’s V formula was used to evaluate the content validity of the scale. Both CTT and Rasch analysis were employed to evaluate the reliability of the scale. Participants in this study were employees, with a total of 370 (n = 370), collected by using accidental sampling techniques. The results showed Aiken’s V of 0.87 to 0.91 shows that items of the adapted scale were relevant to measure the construct. The adapted scale was found reliable with Cronbach’s alpha of 0.936 and Rasch’s person and item reliability were 0.87 and 0.98. In CFA results, the model fit was acceptable (RMSEA=0.08 and CFI=0.96) shows that the data fit the hypoteshized model.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused most schools and universities in Indonesia to face a new learning situation called Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) or online learning. Furthermore, this situation also has an impact on first-year students who are about to enter higher education. As the pandemic gets worse, they are not able to get to know their social and academic environment face-to-face. Thus, this study aimed to find the role of online-formed peer relationships on students' academic motivation during the online learning period. Based on a sample of 118 first-year students from a university, this study found that participants had a high quality of peer relationships and academic motivation. Moreover, peer relationships significantly predict students' academic motivation. However, participants who had interacted entirely online with their friends had a significantly lower quality of peer relationships. This result suggests the importance of building good peer relationships to support students' academic motivation, especially in the pandemic.

Abstract

AbstractChildren’s self-regulation is the child’s ability to manage emotions and focus their attention on controlling behavior so that they behave in accordance with environmental demands. Children’s self-regulation consists of 3 aspects, namely cognitive regulation, emotional regulation, and behavioral regulation. Children’s self-regulation is related to the child’s well-being during the transition from childhood to adolescents. Self-regulation is also an important aspect in seeing school readiness. Measurement of children’s self-regulation usually uses observation methods with games such as HTKS (head-toes-knees-shoulder) or delay gratification, which can be situational and subjective comparing with parental observations of children’s daily behavior. The aim of this study was to get standardized measuring tools for children’s self-regulation in Indonesia. The participants of this study were parents whose has child aged 3-7 years old. Data obtained from 313 participants. Data analysis by construct validity (CFA) and Rasch Model utilize Lisrel student version 9.30 and winstep ver.3.73 programs. Reliability instrument children’s self-regulation classified to excellent with α = 0.99, validity construct using CFA meet the criteria.  It can be concluded that a children self-regulation model can be utilize as a valid test to evaluate targeted construct and the instrument fit to rasch models.Keywords: measurement, self-regulation, preschoolAbstrakRegulasi diri anak adalah kemampuan anak dalam mengelola emosi dan fokus perhatiannya untuk mengendalikan perilaku, agar berperilaku sesuai dengan tuntutan lingkungan. Regulasi diri anak terdiri dari 3 aspek, yaitu, regulasi kognitif, regulasi emosi, dan regulasi perilaku. Kemampuan regulasi diri anak masa awal berkaitan dengan kesejahteraan pada masa transisi anak-anak ke remaja. Kemampuan kesiapan sekolah anak dapat dilihat melalui aspek regulasi diri. Pengukuran regulasi diri anak biasanya menggunakan metode observasi dengan permainan seperti KPLK (kepala-pundak-lutut-kaki) atau penundaan kepuasan yang dapat menjadi situasional dan subjektif dibandingkan penilaian melalui observasi orang tua mengenai perilaku anak sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh instrumen regulasi diri anak yang terstandardisasi di Indonesia. Partisipan penelitian adalah orang tua yang memiliki anak berusia 3-7 tahun, diperoleh data 313 partisipan. Analisis data menggunakan validitas konstruk dan pendekatan model rasch dibantu oleh program Lisrel student ver. 9.30 dan winstep ver. 3.73. Diperoleh nilai reliabilitas total instrumen alat ukur tergolong sangat tinggi dengan α = 0.99, nilai validitas konstruk (CFA) memenuhi kriteria. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model regulasi diri anak dapat digunakan sebagai tes yang valid untuk mengukur konstruk yang ditargetkan dan instrumen sesuai dengan model rasch.Kata kunci: alat ukur, regulasi diri, prasekolah

Abstract

This study aims to test the reliability and validity of the Revised Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (R-MSPSS) which has been translated to bahasa Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach. Data was obtained from 285 teachers in Bandung (include elementary school, junior high school, and high school) who implemented distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling.  The data were collected using a questionnaire in the form of google form that was distributed through social media. The data analysis techniques in this study was an internal consistency test using Cronbach’s alpha to calculate the reliability of the instrument and confirmatory factor analysis with diagonally weighted least square estimation to prove construct validity using the JASP version 0.14 program. The results of this study indicate that the R-MSPSS has good reliability with the Cronbach's alpha value on the total score and the score for each dimension of more than 0,7. The result of factor confirmatory analysis shows that the R-MSPSS model with 4 factors is in accordance with the measured construct. The results of this study indicate that the R-MSPSS is a reliable and valid instrument for measuring teachers' perceived social support.

Abstract

This study was aimed to examine the validity and reliability of the Mindfulness in Teaching Scale in Indonesia (MTS-I). This research was a quantitative research. Data were collected from teachers of elementary, secondary, and high school in Bandung (n=244) using convenience sampling. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to test the two factor structures of MTS-I, Pearson product moment to test concurrent validity, and Cronbach’s alpha to test the internal consistency. Results confirmed the validity and reliability of the model. MTS-I had the same structure with the original one. MTS-I had 13 valid and reliable items which were divided into two dimensions, interpersonal mindfulness and intrapersonal mindfulness. MTS-I demonstrated construct validity with good-fit index. Furthermore, regarding concurrent validity, positive correlations were obtained between MTS-I subscales with teacher efficacy, and negative correlations were obtained between MTS-I subscales with teacher stress.

Abstract

The QoL5 questionnaire is five items self-report to measure the quality of life, based on the integrated quality of life (IQOL) theory by S. Ventegodt. The validation test aims to determine the psychometric properties of the questionnaire. The translation and adaptation stages are carried out based on the International Test Committee (ITC) manual. The sample consisted of 217 people obtained a convenience sampling. Data analysis showed that the questionnaire was reliable (α=.78). Item discrimination ranges from .41-.74 (very good item). Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) shows that the unidimensional model QoL5 has a good fit to the data (RMSEA=.07, CFI=.99, and SRMR=.05). The factor loading significance test shows a value of .5 or above means all items are valid. Tests of content validity (CVI=.87), convergent validity (AVE=.55), and criterion validity (r=.399-.581) showed that all items were valid. The results of the analysis indicate that the QoL5 questionnaire is a reliable and valid instrument for measuring the quality of life.

Abstract

Parenting is still an essential discussion for parents. Each parent has their own way of carrying out their children. This study aims to adapt the Parental Authority Questionnaire Revised (PAQ-R) measurement tool into the Indonesian version. PAQ-R is a measuring tool developed based on Baumrind's theory of parenting which consists of three dimensions, namely authoritarian, permissive, and authoritative with a total of 30 items. Participants in this study involved 262 parents, 104 fathers and 158 mothers. Participants were selected using the snowball sampling technique. The reliability of the instrument was estimated using Cronbach's Alpha which was  0.70, indicating good internal consistencyThe method of factor analysis used in this research is confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) through the lisrel 8.80 program. Based on calculations using the CFA method, it concluded that all dimensions require modification of the measurement model to obtain a fit value. Pengasuhan masih menjadi pembahasan yang esensial bagi para orang tua. Setiap orang tua memiliki caranya masing-masing dalam menjalankan pengasuhan anak tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengadaptasi alat ukur Parental Authority Questionnaire Revised (PAQ-R) ke dalam versi Bahasa Indonesia. PAQ-R merupakan alat ukur yang dikembangkan berdasarkan teori dari Baumrind mengenai pola asuh orang tua yang terdiri dari tiga dimensi, yaitu authoritarian, permissive, dan authoritative dengan jumlah total sebanyak 30 items. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini melibatkan 262 orang tua, 104 ayah dan 158 ibu. Pemilihan partisipan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling. Reliabilitas alat ukur dihitung melalui Cronbach’s Alpha menghasilkan nilai sebesar 0.70, menunjukkan konsistensi internal yang baik Metode analisis faktor yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) melalui program lisrel 8.80. Berdasarkan perhitungan dengan metode CFA dapat disimpulkan bahwa semua dimensi memerlukan modifikasi model pengukuran untuk dapat memperoleh nilai fit.
