Abstract

Scientific literacy has become a trend of research in various international research journals. These research trends also influence research trends in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to analyze research related to scientific literacy in Indonesia based on articles published in various national journals. The analysis was conducted in term of methodological approach used and the subjects studied. The analysis was conducted on 138 articles published in various national journals, whether they have been indexed by SCOPUS, DOAJ or other journal indexing agencies. The findings indicate that the application of learning to increase student’s scientific literacy is new research trend in Indonesia and commonly conducted in science major (IPA) with Junior High School students as samples. This study provides an overview of perspectives in scientific literacy research in Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan awal siswa terhadap high order thinking skills (HOTS)siswa, serta mendeskripsikan kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal HOTS pada materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survey, yaitu tidak ada perlakuan tambahan peneliti terhadap siswa yang telah menerima materi larutan penyangga yang di tes dengan soal – soal HOTS yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil dari tes soal HOTS akan dianalisis menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dan uji statistik korelasi Kolmogorov-Smirnov dan Saphiro-Wilk menggunakan program SPSS 22. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik availibility sampling, sehingga diperoleh sampel penelitian yaitu siswa SMA Negeri 2 Pare kelas XI MIA 6, XI MIA 7 dan XI MIA 8. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis yang terdiri dari 10 soal uraian HOTS yang diadaptasi dari Futhona (2016) yang disesuaikan dengan realiabilitas instrumen sebesar 0,719. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai r hitung (0,359) > r table (0,256) untuk korelasi antara kemampuan awal siswa dan HOTS siswa , serta nilai Sig < 0,005. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi antara kemampuan awal dengan HOTS siswa. Siswa kelas atas memiliki nilai HOTS lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa kelas bawah. Pada penelitian ini, siswa mampu melakukan kalkulasi dengan baik, namun masih kurang dalam hal menganalisis dan menerapkan materi pembelajaran dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kurangnya kemapuan siswa dalam kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan awal siswa.

Abstract

Pembelajaran kimia dipenuhi dengan konsep mikro, makro maupun simbolik. Materi ini harus dikuasai oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Farmasi. Namun, banyak kendala yang ditemui di lapangan sehingga dibutuhkan alternatif dalam pelaksanaan perkuliahaan. Salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan adalah puzzle ikatan ionik. Puzzle ikatan ionik membantu mahasiswa menemukan alasan secara logis dari pembetukan dari berbagai senyawa ionik.

Abstract

Central Kahayan State High School is located in Central Kahayan District, Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan. The pandemic period resulted in several changes in the implementation of learning. One is that face-to-face learning activities must be carried out online, resulting in limited interaction between teachers and students. The allocation of cut learning time leads to a lack of time for learners to understand the concept of the material. These obstacles experienced result in a reduction in the quality of learning and a decrease in student motivation in the learning process. Based on the existing problems, the idea emerged as a solution by holding project-based learning design training through local resources. Through this training, it is hoped that teachers will have more knowledge and insight into designing innovative learning by utilizing local wisdom and potential. In general, the objectives of community service implemented are 1) increasing motivation to provide innovation in learning activities, 2) improving skills for teachers to design project-based learning activities, and 3) increasing the motivation and enthusiasm for learning of students

Abstract

Technological developments that move quickly can be balanced with learning that can accommodate the development of students as a whole. One of the skills needed is argumentation ability. Argumentation skills can train students to develop critical thinking skills and become good policy makers. However, with the pandemic and learning being carried out online, it has caused learning gaps, one of which is in terms of argumentation skills. The research method used is a case study with the aim of describing the profile of the first semester students' argumentation abilities through practicum reports. Analysis of the quality of student arguments using the adjusted Toulmin model. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that 64.44% of student arguments at level 1E and 32.22% of student arguments at level 2.

Abstract

MGMP Kimia merupakan musyawarah guru mata pelajaran kimia. Kelompok musyawarah ini memiliki peranan penting dalam mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan pendidikan terutama pada mata pelajaran kimia. Masa pandemi COVID-19 memaksa adanya perubahan dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran serta terhentinya kegiatan rutin MGMP Kimia Kota Palangka Raya. Di sisi lain perubahan kurikulum memberikan amanat baru yang  membutuhkan perhatian dan persiapan. Dari berbagai alternatif solusi yang ditawarkan, terpilihlah gagasan kegiatan sosialisasi pembelajaran berbasis proyek melalui pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 19 November 2022 yang diikuti oleh 17 peserta. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan para guru khususnya guru mata pelajaran kimia Kota Palangka Raya memiliki pengetahuan dan wawasan yang lebih mengenai pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Adapun tujuan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) yang telah dilaksanakan 1) meningkatkan motivasi guru untuk berinovasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek; 2) meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam merancang kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek; dan 3) meningkatkan motivasi dan semangat belajar peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi yang telah dilaksanakan guru-guru mitra telah memahami pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan baik serta memberikan respon positif (sangat baik) terhadap pelakasanaan kegiatan pengabdian. Dengan demikian, kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan memberikan dampak positif bagi guru-guru dalam memahami penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Guru mampu mengelaborasi dan mengembangkan pembelajaran berbasis proyek pada mata pelajaran kimia serta berkolaborasi dengan mata pelajaran lainnya. MGMP Chemistry is the deliberation of the chemistry teacher. This deliberation group is important in developing and improving the quality of learning and education, especially in chemistry subjects. The COVID-19 pandemic forced changes in the implementation of learning and cessation of the routine activities of MGMP Chemistry in Palangka Raya City. On the other hand, curriculum changes provide new mandates that require attention and preparation. The idea of project-based learning dissemination activities was chosen using local resources from the various alternative solutions offered. The activity was held on November 19th 2022, and 17 participants attended. Through this activity, it is hoped that teachers, especially chemistry teachers in Palangka Raya City, will have more knowledge and insight regarding project-based learning. The PkM objectives that have been implemented 1) increase teacher motivation to innovate in project-based learning activities; 2) improve teacher skills in designing project-based learning activities; and 3) increase the motivation and enthusiasm for learning of students. Based on the evaluation results carried out by partner teachers have understood project-based learning well and provided a positive response (very good) to the implementation of service activities. Thus, the activities carried out positively impact teachers in understanding the application of project-based learning. Teachers can elaborate and develop project-based learning in chemistry subjects and collaborate with other subjects.

Abstract

Water, the primary need of living things, is indispensable for humans. The use of water is a common thing in the community. One of the community environments that needs water is housing. Grand Sanur Griya Tama II Housing Estate, a housing estate in Palangka Raya City, is one of the places that utilize groundwater to meet clean water needs. In this service, counselling is carried out by determining groundwater quality based on physical and chemical parameters. The community service results show that the groundwater quality in the housing is in accordance with quality standards.
